- maxedo, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5527 Dresses winning best comedy kind of nullifies the entire night.
- Grazfather, on 01/08/2009, -1/+31The Dark Knight IS fantastic, but People's Choice awards?
27 dresses as best comedy movie? That proves too many women vote.
2 and a half men best comedy sitcom? That proves too many morons vote. - markperia, on 01/08/2009, -2/+23I dunno what the bandwagon is anymore.
Hating on The Dark Knight seems to be the "cool" thing nowadays but just a few months ago it was the "in" thing to praise it to hell. - seantubridy, on 01/08/2009, -2/+23I agree. However the "people" also chose 27 Dresses as best comedy, Heroes as best Sci-fi show and House as best drama. Seriously? The "people" don't always have the best taste.
- Wandel, on 01/08/2009, -1/+20And Dr. Horrible won online sensation, yay!
- painting, on 01/08/2009, -2/+192 and a half men won favorite comedy, voiding any validity or merit the people's choice award has.
- Pasaris, on 01/08/2009, -2/+16The People's Choice Awards are *****.
- BinaryDelt, on 01/08/2009, -1/+14Anyone notice all the CBS shows were winning, and the awards were on CBS?
- superterrorizer, on 01/08/2009, -4/+17Jack Nicholson was only a good joker to those who knew nothing about The Joker. Jack only played Jack. Which was decent, don't get me wrong, but nowhere near the perfection that Ledger created.
- 15thPD, on 01/08/2009, -1/+14I love House.
- sexynemesis, on 01/08/2009, -1/+12his 'Batman" voice was annoying
- jordanlgta, on 01/08/2009, -1/+11akchrs, do you want to know why you didn't think Heath Ledger was that good? Too bad...I'm going to tell you anyway.
Some people feel the need to be different to feel special. They go the opposite way than the majority of people go. In your case, you predetermined in a part of your brain you don't want to access that you weren't going to like Heath Ledger's performance strictly because most other people would like his performance. It was all done in your brain in a part that you don't want to access because then you wouldn't be able to feel as special as you think you are.
It's not about "so everyone has to like Heath Ledger's peformance?". They don't. But you don't fall under the category of just not being impressed. You want to feel special. You want to feel special so bad that you post things on places like right here on digg to further your opinion so you can feel special and different. - therayven, on 01/08/2009, -0/+10I wish I could bury you twice: once for insulting Nicholson, and again for "Night."
- amoirae, on 01/08/2009, -5/+15Bale didn't deserve an award. He is bland, with only slightly more emotional range than Keanu Reeves.
- chadsmith729, on 01/08/2009, -9/+17You know why it swept the Peoples Choice? Because the movie was freaking awesome! Heath did an amazing job, and I highly doubt ANYONE will be able to play the joker better than him. If you haven't (somehow) saw the movie yet, then go rent it. It's well worth it!
- Kosh, on 01/08/2009, -0/+8The only reason Iron Man was good was because of Robert Downey Jr's insanely good acting.
- cnot3, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7I agree that he was pretty emotionless in Dark Night, but he has been good in other movies, such as Equilibrium or Rescue Dawn.
- karmaroks, on 01/08/2009, -3/+10They have bad taste because they don't like what you like?
- Pasaris, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7Have you ever seen American Phycho? Brilliant.
- gfxlonghorn, on 01/08/2009, -11/+17As much as I like the Dark Knight, based on the other awards... the people are very stupid. People thinking House is the best drama on tv makes my brain hurt.
- timusca, on 01/08/2009, -6/+12Are you kidding me? I'm not even saying it because I think he's somehow more amazing since he died... I really think he was simply amazing.
- paidhima, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6I think people confuse Batman's personality for Bale's, simply because he's so good at it. Of course he's pretty emotionless. Bruce Wayne is emotionless. In the same way that Clark Kent is a disguise Superman wears, Bruce Wayne is a disguise Batman wears. For emotion, though, you just have to look at the Batman/Joker interrogation. From the moment he slams Joker's head against the table you can tell that Batman's about as close to going over the edge as he could be. Batman doesn't have a wide range of emotions, just varying degrees of anger.
Bale is perfectly capable of playing a realistically emotional character. This is just not that character. - The_Rob, on 01/08/2009, -2/+8People are sheep!
Christian Bale over horribly overacted. - cbreaker, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6In my experience.. the more people you get to decide on something, the more incorrect they become.
- josak, on 01/08/2009, -1/+7Exactly. That's how it works around here at digg. People praise something (which often times deserves the praise) , then they turn against in order to go against the grain.
Does anyone take Digg seriously anyway? - WrldsWrstDigger, on 01/08/2009, -12/+17overrated.
- incognito2534, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Wow, surprised all the teenie boppers didn't vote for Twilight.
- adtthosa, on 01/08/2009, -13/+18This movie was okay but DEFINITELY not as good as everyone thinks it was.
- Delta009, on 01/08/2009, -1/+6"btw, The Dark Knight? Totally overrated"
- Raf Katigbak, columnist for the Montreal Mirror - cbreaker, on 01/08/2009, -2/+7Hah, yea actually I did too.
- timusca, on 01/08/2009, -2/+7LOST is the best sci-fi... but because it hasn't aired in 9 months, people forget how good it is. God, the human race has such a short memory...
- spacebuddy, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Most of the movies in 2008 sucked balls.
- timothycrash01, on 01/08/2009, -2/+6Digg is like punk music fans. Once a band gets too popular or too praised, the fans turn against it. It happened with Ron Paul, Obama, etc. Too much positive saturation and voila - instant revolt. It's very predicatable. People want to feel like they're going against the grain - it's the "rebel yell".
- shenanigoats, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Red's good, but it's no pink.
- DyceFreak, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4cause people are stupid
- gfxlonghorn, on 01/08/2009, -2/+6The only reason Heroes is the won the best Sci-fi award, is because its the only one people actually watch and know of.
- crweaks23, on 01/08/2009, -1/+5House is great... I'm not going to try and pick what the "best" drama is, but if they choose House, I have no complaints.
- TexasShiv, on 01/08/2009, -4/+8bahaha.. oh how I love Digg...
Praise something to hell, I.E. Obama, Batman, GTA IV, etc..
And then turn your back on it because it got too popular and now you want to seem cool for not liking it. - Burrito, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Your promises of self consumption mean nothing to me anymore. You failed to eat your own ***** after your Zero Punctuation comment and the Internet will never forget.
- drinkthepill, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4I'm not insulting Nicholson. He's one of our finest actors, and obviously his body of work far surpasses that of Ledgers, but his Joker doesn’t stand up against Ledger's. Now here’s your chance to bury me twice.
- crweaks23, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Dexter is phenomenal, I agree. Every single person I've convinced to give it a shot has thanked me for it. I just don't think enough people have even seen the show.
- ckup619, on 01/08/2009, -1/+5all the Dark Knight hate must explain why the dvd sales are low. oh wait...
- sexynemesis, on 01/08/2009, -2/+6/truth
- lroche, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4The Peoples Choice Awards are a bit of a joke really. A better indication will be the Globes and the Directors Guild Awards. And if the Oscars become Dark Knight crazy I may not tune in. And I'm actually one of the few people who never ever miss the Oscars.
- j4nj1m3n3z, on 01/08/2009, -1/+5Thats because most people only see movies that get the most media hype, even though those are usually mediocre at best. Dark Knight was a very good movie, but it was no Slumdog Millionaire or The Wrestler.
- seantubridy, on 01/08/2009, -1/+4Not all people, just the majority. That's all that matters, I guess.
- phoenix3dd, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Really Digg, the People's Choice Awards...
- Onion575, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3pink, red, orange, yellow
in that order. - reverant, on 01/08/2009, -3/+6It was good, but only because heath ledger was pretty good. Beyond that it was a very average superhero movie, and I don't think anyone would be remembering how good heath was if he didn't die.
- areyouserious, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3I digg the yellow.
