- Mizzark, on 01/11/2009, -1/+16Wanna know how I got these Oscars.
- enochthewalker, on 01/11/2009, -0/+14I watched it alone for the 4th time and liked it more than the other times I saw it. Digg is full of a bunch of retard who feel the need to be counterculture. Since TDK was so much more popular than Begins people change their mind about it. Watch and see. If watchmen does really well at the box office Digg will start bashing it.
- CaviMike, on 01/11/2009, -6/+14People are just hating it because so many other people are raving about it. I think you're one of them. I, for one, thought it was a great movie and Heath Ledger's death doesn't have any affect on my opinion of his performance, which I thought was epic. SO many small details of his performance make me feel this way, like when he took serious offense when he was called 'crazy' or when he straightened his hair after taking off the wig in the hospital. Obviously you don't notice these things but people like me, who thrive for the small details, do.
- ryancawdor, on 01/11/2009, -2/+9The Dark Knight is the pinnacle of fanboyism. It's staggering to see the level of devotion it's engendered.
Until the next brooding superhero movie comes out, that is. - walrusonion, on 01/11/2009, -0/+6best in show for movie or DVD presentation because i bought the 2 disc and the special features were very very disapointing
- Jonmad17, on 01/11/2009, -2/+8What's with The Dark Knight backlash? Diggers could never seem to make up their mind.
- keithburgun, on 01/11/2009, -2/+8Oh wow the prestigious DEG awards!
- huntermcwhite, on 01/11/2009, -1/+7the what awards?
- hdtvtutor, on 01/11/2009, -0/+5Saw 5 disappointed me for sure
- EnderMB, on 01/11/2009, -2/+7I just thought it was a bit same-y. Hollywood is raping every popular comic book for all it's worth and Batman is one of the comics that has suffered. The movie just wasn't that good and brought little to make me really want to watch it other than the fact that it is another Batman movie.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad movie and I didn't claim it was. It was a good movie for what it was, a Hollywood gang-raping of a good comic, but that doesn't make a good movie. Heath Ledger has been in many fantastic movies and it's only really now that people seem to appreciate him, when he's dead. - getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5By compulsively masturbating with 120 grit sandpaper?
- Igrift, on 01/11/2009, -1/+5You're not the only one, many people didn't fall for the hype. It's ok to not like this movie, but be carefull where you say that, the dark night nazi's will tear the sh*t out of you.
- petethepanda, on 01/11/2009, -3/+7It was a pretty good movie, but that's it. When Ledger was on screen it was amazing, but everything else was just okay. This is the single most overrated movie of our generation. I am amazed at the fever people have themselves worked up into over TDK. I was no more or less excited than anybody else walking in at midnight, but I was the only one who left somewhat disappointed... I don't understand what is so "omg amazing" about it. It's nothing special, and by the end where you have the boat "social experiment" and two minutes of video game esque sonar-vision it becomes downright retarded.
- spiderbaby138, on 01/11/2009, -4/+8More like best in annoying consumers who wants to watch it on a computer.
http://www.entertonement.com/clips/11734/Film-Tele ... - moduc, on 01/11/2009, -1/+4I just watch it last night. I don't think it's that good. But that's just my personal liking. I think Hedge was great in the joke role. However, everything else is just normal stuffs.
Joker's idea of his action is spontaneous, while other people's planed action causes a lot of death is plain wrong. He planed a lot of things in a very elaborate way. The head of the city doesn't understand that, and buy his ***** at the end?
Another thing is that he said the batman can't be bad, and has to do his things with boundary, while the joker can do anything without bound. That's wrong again. That was to justify the fact that batman didn't kill the guy. However, batman at the end (spoiler alert).....
....
took the responsibility of the killings by Harvey on his self, and lie to the public to make the joker wrong. So he did lie to the public. If he can commit acts like that, then why not kill the joker in the fight? Also, by under estimate the public's ability to dissect the truth is like communists' justification of having only government communication channels (radio, TV, newspaper, and sensorship).
The joker said to the batman "you completed me". I don't kill you, because you gives me fun. The public don't care about you. If I die, they will chase you anyway. While that's a valid point for a bad person, it's not for batman. First, if he has the power to hide from the public (most people still don't know him), then why not for the safety of the public. Second, that also underestimate the public's ability to hear the truth from him. Thirdly, caring only for oneself like the joker is greedy, but to a hero like batman, that doesn't synch right. Batman would have killed him, and tell him beforehand: "that's the price I am willingly and gladly to pay if I have to to get rid of you".
The movie is also very predictable. For example, when the joker was laying down pretend dead to trick a guy who want him dead or alive, I knew right away, and said he pretended it. It's kind of easy to guess if you look at the movie of not ending easily like that. However, that's not how it's bad. It's the guy who let him in so easily without suspecting means the joker's targets are easy stuffs. It's like Bruce Lee movie where most of the fighters running into him to be beaten.
Maybe the audiences are the kids who love batman. However, with the level of violence, it appears not. So, for adult level of audience, I think it's sorely lack in content, deepness and consistency. The action is definitely not spectacular. There are alot action movies better than that.
Only Ledger's acting seems to be good. However, I have seen him did it in other movies, with very high quality, so it's good, but I am not surprised at the quality he delivered. - EnderMB, on 01/11/2009, -11/+14Am I the only person that thought it wasn't that good?
Heath Ledger was a good actor, but please don't belittle his talent by demanding he win an Oscar just because he's dead. - Brizzyce, on 01/11/2009, -1/+4Nobody gives a ***** about the Golden Globes.
- solid12345, on 01/11/2009, -5/+8For the last time, TDK was a good movie, but movie of the year, please. The only ones saying this ***** are people who think Saw V is the best in independent cinema.
- bdbr, on 01/11/2009, -0/+3The problem with hyping a movie as much as people did with Dark Knight is that people go in with the expectation that it is going to be one of the best movies ever. If its just a good movie, people will be disappointed.
- keithburgun, on 01/11/2009, -5/+8I agree, EnderMB. It was a generic, actually sort of extra-stupid action movie with ONE good actor/character.
- Bhima, on 01/11/2009, -1/+4I walked out of the film... whatever, to each his own. I hope they have fun
- superterrorizer, on 01/11/2009, -1/+3I agree with CaviMike. I think because the movie was so successful and praised by fans and critics alike, people will look for reasons to hate it.
I see most every top oscar contender, from the wrestler to slumdog, and I, like many others, will tell you that The Dark Knight deserves it's place among them, and while maybe not Best Picture of the year(my vote is for screenplay, supporting actor, score and direction,) it certainly deserves to be considered for it. I challenge you to find 3 other movies that casual movie goers and critics speak as highly of.
As for as it being "raped," I don't really know what the hell you're talking about. Even batman purists enjoyed the movie as well as Heath's portrayal, and it's the first Batman film to EVER incorporate Gotham itself as a central character instead of just a plot setting. - superterrorizer, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2I dugg you up. It's almost like everyone that hates this film wants you to apologize for loving it...which is ***** moronic. It was a fantastic film.
- souljaboytellem, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2Well let's not knock the movie, it was phenomenal
But i hear what you are saying, obviously you don't think it was the best movie of the year, and you might be right, but perhaps some people don't have the same taste in movies as you. Dark Knight was by far the best action movie of the year, and Heath Ledger was one of the best actors of the year
However, Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, Wall-E, and The Wrestler were all good movies as well, so it will be interesting to see who takes home the Golden Globe for best movie of the year. - Hurricane, on 01/11/2009, -1/+3Good movie but overrated.
- bjs3171, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2how many awards shows are there?
- TINZUSA, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2It's always fascinated me how effective marketing can herd people like sheep into approving something that is clearly crap.
- warriorscot, on 01/11/2009, -2/+4I really liked it. I liked it better than the first of the rebooted batman films. I'm not going to apologise for liking it either. Its the kind of film I like watching and it was the best of its kind.
I think he should win an Oscar because he was a good actor and it was one of his best performances regardless of the film. That he is dead is pretty irelevant in my judgement of the film or performance. - ZincSaucier, on 01/11/2009, -0/+2now all it needs to win is an orange blimp and a box of golden popcorn
- MarrowMan, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2too many.
- smartguy4932, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2I wish I can digg you twice.
- Spoomeister, on 01/12/2009, -0/+1Good movie but the DVD is terrible. Sub-par fake-TV show scenes and about 1 good behind-the-scenes-special's worth of extras. It feels rushed and incomplete, basically.
- andrewlotta, on 01/12/2009, -0/+1Wtf are the DEG Awards?
- farfegnugen, on 01/12/2009, -0/+1The first time I saw it, I wasn't that impressed. I think part of it had to do with the fact that it was a dense 3-hour movie. I've seen it a total of four times now, and have picked up on more of the little details with every watching. Now I think it is a really amazing movie, but I will agree that it is still overhyped and overpraised.
- DownkeyKowng, on 01/12/2009, -0/+1"would you like to know how i got these really bad cuts on my face?"
- sexynemesis, on 01/12/2009, -0/+1they made a fifth one?
i stopped paying attention after the second and third sucked.
does the guy come back as a zombie or something? - konartis, on 01/11/2009, -1/+1It was a great movie. My neck hurt at IMAX (got there late, sat near the bottom) so the better viewing was my second, at a regular cinema. I could watch it a few more times.
Everything from the Joker's hunched back to the crazy pauses in his dialogue was just so ***** awesome. - inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+0I've watched the movie on DVD, Bluray and IMAX. The DVD version (not special ed) had no special features and felt very barebones. The Bluray version had excellent picture quality and special features. The IMAX version had some of the most realistic looking buildings I have ever seen besides looking at real buildings.
- Nostromo13, on 01/11/2009, -2/+2Hopefully the sequel will be as well received, it's starting to sound promising, judging from the choice of villain.
http://yeahboss.com/2009/01/09/dark-knight-returns ... - CaviMike, on 01/11/2009, -4/+4It bothers me that so many people are now hating it because it's getting too much attention. Well you know what, I'm hating you now. ***** you all.
- devila2208, on 01/13/2009, -1/+1Spam
- Anand999, on 01/11/2009, -5/+4By experiencing the unsurpassed clarify and sound on the Blu-Ray version of "The Dark Knight"?
- majikphat, on 01/11/2009, -3/+2The Dark Knight was a good movie. It could have been great if they didn't do the whole sonar thing. "Get it? It's like a bat!" ***** you.
- gdonald, on 01/11/2009, -4/+3I think it sucked. Long, drawn out and boring.
- SRSco, on 01/11/2009, -5/+4Any nobody with good taste cares about your lame comic book movie.
- keithburgun, on 01/11/2009, -4/+3They watched it alone a 2nd time and figured out it sucks
- Broncosrule, on 01/11/2009, -5/+3the dark night was like the best movie of 08
- gaidensensei, on 01/11/2009, -3/+1"Batman! Batman!!!"
