- zeazzz, on 09/07/2008, -3/+70Nicolas Cage needs to stop "acting" in movies.
- mrcoldcow, on 09/07/2008, -1/+47Considering how people were essentially using their entire pay checks to see Dark Knight over and over again, I don't think there's much to worry about...
- Darren07, on 09/07/2008, -10/+49And stop picking on Cage, he's a damn fine actor, just makes some bad decisions once in a while.
Remember Leaving Las Vegas? Matchstick Men? Weather Man? Adaptation? Lord of War...?
I'd rather watch Cage than the Hollywood pretty boys in their "summer blockbusters". - OswaldKenobi, on 09/08/2008, -0/+31Post-labor day is always slow for Hollywood. Nothing to see here.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -5/+33Leave Nicolas Cage alone.!!!!
- drew52686, on 09/08/2008, -0/+24Raising Arizona FTW
- staffell, on 09/07/2008, -3/+26dugg for the title
buried for nicolas cage
so guess what? I did neither - badwithcomputer, on 09/07/2008, -0/+21http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6i2WRreARo
- wrek, on 09/08/2008, -2/+23I don't go to the theater much now... I used to but for the last several years it's been DVD for me. No reason for me to pay $9/person to get inside and pay $20 for a popcorn and coke and a candy bar so I can sit with 150 talking, farting people chomping with their mouths open.. Nah, I'll watch it at home where I can pause it if I want to.
- djdigital, on 09/08/2008, -0/+19How'd it get Burned, How'd it get Burned, HOW'D IT GET BURNNNNEEEEDDDDDD!!!!!
- dalittle, on 09/08/2008, -1/+16yea, I see this as an epic win. You put out trash movies, you get expected poor financial return results. You put out great movies, you get paid handsomely.
- jlpete9, on 09/08/2008, -1/+12This never claimed to be a masterpiece. Anything earning only a tiny fraction of its budget is undeniably considered a flop. This one flopped.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -1/+12The movie industry deserves a depression.
Actually, it deserves electroshock therapy. - PhoenixAvatar2, on 09/08/2008, -0/+11If you were actually to look at the numbers for the summer you'd see that we are nowhere near a depression. If you were to look at the years before this weekend, last year was 14m for 3:10 to Yuma and the year before that was The Covenant at 9 mil. It's the weekend after Labor Day, people are back in school and getting work done.
In other words, don't be such an alarmist just for diggs. - NuFadZoo, on 09/08/2008, -0/+10Bringing out the Dead, Raising Arizona and Adaptation are 3 of my favorite movies.
- mlvassallo, on 09/08/2008, -0/+8Leaving Las Vegas was one of his finest moments. He needs to stick with something more down to earth and serious and stop trying to be Bruce Willis.
- WhoDoneIt, on 09/08/2008, -0/+8I see what your mom did there.
- wpc33, on 09/08/2008, -0/+7Make good movies, they will come.
- InJectaH, on 09/08/2008, -1/+8Nicholas Cage movies where hot in the 90's sort of like Steven Segal. You just gotta know when to stop. Conair was my fav though ;)
- Nightfall, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6The Dark Knight is over half a billion dollars in ticket sales and the Box Office is in big trouble? Please.....
- airwalke, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6How long until they start blaming reduce movie ticket sales on internet piracy again?
- oxymoron69, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5I can't understand the clappers....
Who the ***** are you clapping for?
The guy who keeps the floors only marginally sticky or the guy jerking off in the projection booth? - durgahutt, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6Amen dude.
- matu4251, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5that's why wrek doesn't invite you to watch DVD with him...
- DeFex, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5not to mention cell phone talkers. screaming brats. chair kickers. clappers. and various other inconsiderate *****.
- manstein01, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Who the hell did his hair for this movie? I think he actually looked less ridiculous running around in that bear suit in The Wicker Man.
- MisterMajusty, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Cage is trying to be "hip" and "cool" with these action movies starting with Ghost Rider. Remember when he tried to play as Superman? Next was bad movie also. Nope, he can't be Castor Troy no more.
- arkboysooner, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Nic Cage Sucks minus Raising Arizona.
- blueskydiver76, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Ramen to that.
- jstohler, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Agreed. Saying the entire industry is in a depression based on this one weekend is just ludicrous.
- arial, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Everyone spent all their movie money on the Dark Knight.
- ZombieLuv, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Make a ***** movie get a ***** showing at the box office. Yeah, the movie industry is in a depression… what with The Dark Knight breaking all sorts of records.
- inhaler, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Actually, whoever did casting is at fault.
- zorpscorp, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3his hair is awesome!
http://www.aww-kittah-aww.com/up/files/794/hairisa ... - BoSuu, on 09/08/2008, -1/+4I thought tropic thunder was pretty ***** awesome. I still can't get the image of half-squat stabbing stiller in the neck over and over again with a tiny little knife.
- norman619, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3What do they expect? They really need to start listening to the people that go to the movies. We have been complaining that they have been putting out complete crap for many years now. It's no shock this movie took in so little. It looks extremely formulaic and MTVish. Not worth my money. Writing for both film and TV has been getting progressively worse over the years. Fancy VFX can't make up for a piss poor story.
- WhiskeyThieves, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3I don't like him in action movies.
- Kenzan, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Direct to DVD FTW.
- aspec, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Dickie Roberts opened to 6.6 million dollars on this same weekend in 2003. I think it's just this weekend. And the fact that everything that's still there has already been seen. Or it sucked.
- Hetman, on 09/08/2008, -5/+8Is it really a bad decision or is he just trying to make some cash. Seriously Shia LeBouf sucks. And he has ruined transformers and indy. However I do not blame him for taking the roles. It is the directors fault for hiring him.
- dhalgren99, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Not the Bees!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIvHVIMAEks - hummstheword, on 09/08/2008, -2/+4Screw going to the movies, football is on now.
- oxymoron69, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Me neither, he really doesn't look like the scary type who you need to run away from (much less lock the liquor cabinet) or the kinda guy you want to count on when the world is about to end or some other really dramatic plot is gonna reach it's climax.
I for one would rather trust tom hanks to save the day more effectively and rationally than this guy. Not that it matters at all.
Although, at least he's not a Scientologist (...yet) - passive, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2To quote Jay Sherman:
"If the movie stinks, just don't go!"
The idea that Hollywood is in a "recession" after the Dark Knight's record breaking run is pretty ridiculous. The Dark Knight was a fantastic movie, and if Hollywood makes more "good" movies, we will give them more of our "money" (see what I did there?). Hollywood is in a "mental recession" (props to Phil Gramm), where they think they can still make money from "crap" movies, but the public has moved on. - jonjonaramacon, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2I saw the prequel already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=983_qqatdTQ
- kingnothing1, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Looks like you're too poor to have an education too.
- wrek, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2Not married huh? It's not ME, it's the wife... always getting up to get me a soda or a beer or whatever.. it's almost annoying lmao. ;)

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000115/ - punkcat, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2the economy was never so good that people paid for ***** movies and liked it.
after ghost rider who even has the stomach for nic caqe? - CrackyJSquirrel, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2WTF is the Bad Lieutenant: Port of New Orleans? Is is a sequel/prequal to the original Bad Lieutenant with Harvey Kietel? Or is it a remake (impossible)?... Either way, the Bad Lieutenant was an awesome movie that should be left alone. It is perfect in itself and needs no revival. Especially with a bad actor like Nicolas Cage.
