No, Luke, He wached another Superman Movie
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - numberneal, on 10/09/2008, -0/+8what? expect more? i would have never thunk it.
- inactive, on 10/10/2008, -10/+16SUPERMAN DOES NOT NEED A REBOOT!
thank you. - nickpowers101, on 10/10/2008, -0/+4Brandon Routh did a good job as Superman. I'll be glad if he returns. The kid part kinda made things unnecessarily complex - it was probably a mistake to include a kid in the storyline to start with. That said, I still liked Superman Returns.
- KyleRayner, on 10/10/2008, -0/+4Dont know how much you read comics, but the current Superman is a joke. He seems to get his ass kicked at every appearance. He has no concrete origin. And he is no longer the Last Son of Krypton, there are 100,000 Kryptonians on earth.
Hopefully the next Superman movie will not be based on the current Superman. - inactive, on 10/10/2008, -4/+7Superman Returns sucked a massive nut.
And Superman I and II, while great, are simply not the same character as the modern superman. Also seriously, watch them, they're seriously dated. Great movies but not the basis for a modern series. - ScipiosLegion, on 10/10/2008, -0/+3reading that article was a waste of my time.
- ratsg, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2latinoreview.com?
- antoniuk, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2Teh dark knight you dumbass
- Zalyster, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2tbh most comics suck, there are so many completely random storylines and everything is retconned at least once. To me, the only real (insert superhero here) is the one you hear about most of the time.
I will give that some storylines aren't bad, but stuff such as that(the 100,000 Kryptonians on Earth) really bother me. - paintersal, on 10/10/2008, -2/+4Superman needs a reboot.
Superman Returns came on tv the other night. the cable guide listed it as a DRAMA.
I loved the idea of staying true to donners vision, but there was far too little action, and it was way too melancholy. The kid was a ballsy move, but where can it go now? forget it. we need a SUPERvillian he can go toe to toe with, and remember- it needs dramatic moments, but its not a drama. - bpeacock22, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2On a slightly related note, would anyone else watch a Green Arrow spinoff from Smallville? I would... wonder if they are thinking about it.....
- bluemist, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2I'm conflicted with Superman Returns. Why did I like the movie when I first watched it in 2006, then hate it now? Diggers generally didn't like the movie, yet it was reviewed well in Rotten Tomatoes.
Is it because we are having a surge of better comic book-based movies that we start to loathe the old stuff? - Rousterfar, on 10/10/2008, -1/+3I loved Superman Returns. Stop the hate, please.
- Zalyster, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Yes! I thought the Aquaman idea was pretty good, but honestly I think he gets old after a while. But GA would be great! Heck, if they would just have a Justice League show with all the same people from Smallville, with cameos from Clark and maybe Chloe, I would be very happy!
- Zalyster, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1You know...The Dark Knight? You had to have heard about it, unless you live under a rock.
- jdizzle88, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1I am stoked for these movies. Batman 3 will be amazing and I've been waiting for the Green Lantern movie forever. Good news, but not necessarily "new" news.
- brownsound00, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1I like batman.
but sorry for the trollish statement - superlantern, on 10/10/2008, -1/+2I'm a Dc guy at heart so I'm happy with this "news"
- withoutamartyr, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1You're kidding, right?
Green Lantern is in the Justice League. He's one of the most recognizable superheros.
Ghost Rider of the DC world... I'm ashamed. - AnthonyFTMFW, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1I actually think this is a great opportunity for Superman. With all the horrible writing the guy has been suffering, expectations for him are pretty low. Let's hope Superman has the fortune of getting great writers, like Batman did.
And yes, the old Superman movies are EXTREMELY dated. People need to stop referring to those movies as a basis for a "good Superman movie". Cheerios anyone? - KyleRayner, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1I must know, who do you think is a great superhero?
- smacksaw, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1It's the ultimate source for honest reviews of latinos everywhere.
- smacksaw, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1FTA: "I could not keep my mouth shut and had to ask the questions that Latino readers are asking."
Hola. Me llamo Pedro. Donde esta la discoteca? - theonlybradever, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1it's because all the 13-year-olds (and 30 year olds with 13-year-old mentalities) on digg can't deal with the idea of superman not just flying around punching stuff for 90 minutes. anything longer, with talking involved is "worst. movie. ever." material apparently.
i DO NOT think Superman Returns was amazing. i think it was satisfactory. the only part that truly bothered me was Lex Luthor's dumb "evil plot" (disclosure, i've actually read the majority of superman comics since before his death).
Superman stories aren't great for their action. everyone always knows that Superman can physically best practically any opponent. the interest lies in how he interacts with the regular people around him. he's Superman, but he can't save everyone.
additionally, anyone calling for Doomsday to make an appearance is an idiot. he's a more of a plot device than a character.
i don't think there needs to be a reboot in this franchise, just better writing. - Artemis11, on 10/10/2008, -1/+1Couldn't tell by your username.
- Zalyster, on 10/10/2008, -1/+1Yeah. And your aunt and uncle player Superman 64, and look what happened to them!
- shaun1983, on 10/10/2008, -1/+1I thought Superman sucked a little bit. I hope the next one will be a bit better. Maybe drop Lex Luther and bring in a real badass bad guy. Green Lantern sounds exciting, but he's not really a top tier superhero is he? He's the Ghost Rider of the DC world.
- bcrich999, on 10/11/2008, -0/+0My take on Brandon Routh. He didn't do a bad job, but how much dialog did he really have? How often was there dialog between Lois and Clark? It seemed like half of his lines were just a repeat of what Reeve said in Superman 1.
As far as Superman Returns, the movie was just flawed in so many ways (spoilers below)
1) He's gone for 5 yrs, but she has a 5 or 6 yr old kid...and went through 9 months of pregnancy.
2) She knows the kid is Superman's, but doesnt remember Superman = Clark.
3) He's able to fly kryptonite-laced huge piece of land into space, yet when he was on it, he was powerless
4) No end-fight. No fight at all
This enough for now...
Point is - yes it needs a Reboot. I thought I wanted to see something that pays tribute to Donner, but when I saw it, I realized why it shouldn't have been done. - brownsound00, on 10/10/2008, -3/+2I never thought superman was that great of a superhero in the first place... I don't know what it was, it just never did it for me.
- lis880, on 10/10/2008, -2/+1Yea theyre looking at a big L if they make another one
- AnthonyFTMFW, on 10/10/2008, -1/+0Yeah seriously. Cool superheros pelvic thrust their way into jazz bars and sport emo hair.
And hey. Two words. Ghost. Rider. - demoneye, on 10/10/2008, -5/+3IMHO, Superman's the most boring superhero out there. I really don't want more of him.
- Relikh, on 10/10/2008, -3/+1No, it's because Superman Returns was terrible and Rotten Tomatoes is wrong.
- CogitatorX, on 10/10/2008, -5/+2Let's be real here: Only bitches read DC comics.
- optimuskade, on 10/10/2008, -7/+1When did batman begins 2 come out?
