- carbonetc, on 12/30/2008, -1/+58Batman vs. Billy Corgan?
- redrabbit, on 12/30/2008, -3/+54I'd rather have new villains in the next Batman, honestly. Black Mask FTW.

His origin story is perfect for Nolan's dark setting. - jboitnott, on 12/30/2008, -2/+31Philip Seymour Hoffman would add quite a bit to any Batman movie. Possibly would rival Ledger's Joker performance given good writing.
- AshamedAmerican, on 12/30/2008, -1/+29The penguin doesnt look like a ***** zombie; he's just a short chubby mob boss!
END OF ***** STORY - cerealjynx, on 12/30/2008, -0/+20John McCain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtx97MR08Cg - mabba18, on 12/30/2008, -0/+16You think that Jim Carrey would make a good Batman villain...
I'm guessing your less then 13 years old. - inactive, on 12/30/2008, -3/+18my initial bet was on paul giamatti..
- whatthefu, on 12/30/2008, -1/+13Remember all the speculation that came before the Joker and right after they announced Ledger as the Joker? And how different the finished product was from everyone's predictions? This is probably like that.
- 0260, on 12/30/2008, -2/+14I want Harley Quinn
- reparsed, on 12/30/2008, -0/+10Damn, I thought this was a Linux story.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -1/+11He looks like Nicole Kidman.
- AncientWeird, on 12/30/2008, -1/+10Burgess Meredith ftw!
- krahzee, on 12/30/2008, -0/+7I remember reading an interview with Christopher Nolan where he stated that he was not interested in using the penguin. his point was that why revisit the same charecters over and over when there were so many other great villans in the Batman comics to use who have not been presented on the big screen yet?
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -0/+7Nolan already said he won't do the Penguin or Robin. I'm hoping in the third movie he ends up giving us Black Mask and The Riddler as the villains. Black Mask like Scarecrow, has never appeared in a film. It would be great to see a reimaging of a villain that's already appeared in live action and one that hasn't.
Black Mask has such a great back story that would fit well in this movie series. - zubi, on 12/30/2008, -0/+7So crappy make-up is the new theatrical make-up?
- mywhitenoise, on 12/30/2008, -1/+8Thank you!
Hoffman could play this role with his hair, and without the dark circles. No need to make him look deformed. - asdfgafawer3, on 12/30/2008, -1/+8No need to ruin a good franchise with Johnny Depp.
- wdw25, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6Oh yeah Mr. Tough guy? Start now my clock says it's 5:00 EST. I will give you until 5:10. Put up or Shut up.
- Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -0/+6One major villain at a time please... I don't want this turning into Spider-man 3.
- Kinsbane, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6I need more Nolan/Bale/Goyer Batman movies in my eyeballs before I'm able to wash the disgusting taste of Burton and Schumacher out of my mouth. Pun intended.
- ggfobster, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6lol he'd throw pumpkins too
- j0kr555, on 12/30/2008, -4/+9Hoffman would be awesome. If they get Depp as well this could beat the Dark Knight. It's great to see a franchise get taken seriously by good actors.
- wdw25, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5That's what I thought.
- RoroCo, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5Or he could just be mentally blocking out the non-Nolan batman movies. I know I am sure trying to do that. I managed to be successful with Carrey as the Riddler (until you reminded me), but Arnold as Dr. Freeze is giving me a real hard time.
- christopheles, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4He's undermentioned because he's a goddamned retarded villain and Jeph Loeb is a ***** hack.
- cadmiumpaint, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4The Penguin could be in it as a side kick kind of Villain. LIke as an evil wealthy mastermind who's more of a side character and def more human that the Devito Version.
I'd love to see more of a group of villains working together in the next Batman. Black Mask, Riddler, a more humanized penguin as a side character (more rich mobster than mutant)
Even if Nolan "went there" and did something with poison ivy and catwoman i'm sure he'd do a great job with those characters. - WhiskeyThieves, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Looks like the lead singer from "My Chemical Romance"
- KDyneria, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Well that's just ***** creepy.
- evilhomestereo, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5Exactly! You sir, have got it right.
- mywhitenoise, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Nolan already said both rumors are *****. The Hoffman one has been going around since before TDK was even announced.
I'd love Hoffman, but I could go for some new villians. And I definitely don't want Depp as The Riddler. - maxer64, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3He said he wasn't doing it. Sad but true.
- pe5t1lence, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3No it couldn't.
- asdfgafawer3, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4I THINK he meant prior to the nolan films.
Black Mask is overrated though. - inactive, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3BLECH... personally I think the penguin is one of the comics worlds worst villians. Total cheese... and not even good cheese... like... no-name singles
- jawbreaker4fs, on 12/31/2008, -2/+5Yeah man, you're totally nitpicking. Everyone knew exactly what he meant. Douche.
- newfrickinshow, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Depends on what age, artist, and storyline you're talking about. Penguin's carried a few different looks over time.
- TwistedPlastic, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4The end is the beginning is the beginning is the end is the beginning is the end.
It all comes full circle. - xbxoxy1, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3my first thought was... Nosferatu? wtf
- xjeffx, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5Bane!!!
- JasonCox, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Am I the only one who look at the thumbnail and thought that was the G-Man?
- redrabbit, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2I hope not. (to the first question)
- matt.rubin, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Are they going to let the joker go? He is not coming back?
In respect to Ledger? - Skishy101, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't count on the penguin (even if they did include him) looking anything like that picture in the end product. Have any of you seen the concept designs and make-ups for the joker? They were nothing (some even laughable) like what ledger ended up looking like.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Dear Hollywood, please stop perverting the great movies of old.
But, yeah, this would make over a hundred mil. - carbonetc, on 12/31/2008, -1/+3Good save...
- grantmoore3d, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Please, no penguin... it will just feel tacky no matter how hard you try.
- Slique22, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2I would really hate to see anyone else attempt to play Heath's Joker (and presumably not live up to the expectations), so would rather they just drew a line and started afresh. His story actually wrapped up pretty nicely in TDK with him being captured and sent to Arkham, too.
And thank God they didn't end on a cliffhanger with him. - asdfgafawer3, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2that should be over 25. Let's say under 12.
- Synn, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2I don't think the Penguin would look like that in the Nolanverse. He'd probably just be a short fat guy who has a weird laugh and would be nothing more than the equivalent to Carmine Falcone from Batman Begins or Salvatore Maroni from The Dark Knight.
- ChairShot83, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Hush.
