Are you kidding? That's like calling a movie about God and the Devil... God: The Devil. - Hutch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@invader this new set of batman movies that are going to essentially start before the older ones and overwrite them are for those of us who when watching the older movies cringed at how Hollywood they were..
- markho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You're all way off the mark - this movie charts the little-known side career of the caped crusader, during his stand-up days in the bars and clubs of Gotham.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The film will probably sell more tickets if "Batman" is somewhere in the title and therefore it will probably be in the title because the almighty dollar rules all.
- iPirate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Please use the reply feature. Thank you.
- goodoldharris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think the opposite - the film would get a ton of free publicity because everyone would be talking about how the next Batman movie doesn't have "Batman" in the title.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm very very skeptical of remaking the joker. I can't picture anyone doing a better a job than Jack. Of course I'll see it a dozen times and love it, no matter who the villian is, but I'm perfectly happy with the Joker that has been done!
- bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I want Jim Carey !
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2jim carrey would be a good joker, but just for the fact he was in the previous batman movies he wont be in this one. I think depp would be good, but i think they will get a unknown.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The movie title says it all ;)
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3...why ... so he can ruin it by providing more outtakes than content?
- burdick11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Batman is Awesome" would be a great title.
- thehans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm fine with the title, I'm a little more concerned with Adrien Brody playing the Joker. I think he's a fine actor, but I am having a hard time visualizing him as a young Joker. Fortunately Christian Slater is too old now to play a young Joker since he's a made a career of trying to impersonate Jack Nicholson.
- Bishoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How about: "Batman, ***** Yeah!"
- goodoldharris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3IIII:
Yeah, people understand it's not supposed to mean Batman IS the Joker. And that's exactly why your suggested title sucks. And sorry, but your layout revision doesn't help. - goodoldharris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Would not put it past Christopher Nolan to insist on "The Joker". He's not at all a "typical" Hollywood director. I got $10 that says that's what the title will be.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Remember before the first one came out how there were even fake scripts floating around, and how they used an unrelated title for the real scripts and movie stuff-ola. Don't be too worried just yet.
- burdick11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about this Paul Bettany character? I've heard his name thrown around an awful lot.
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Bats on a Plane?
- H3BR3W, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I don't really care about the title. This is just a little further confirmation for me that the second movie will indeed include The Clown Prince of Crime. I know most people thought it was obvious by the way they ended Batman Begins, but that's also how Batman: Year One ended, and it could've just been put in as because the Joker's a very, if not the most, recognizeable comic villain.
My guess is 'The Joker' and the Iron Man movie will be battling it out in the summer of '08. If only that weren't so far away. :( - BlinkSumGreen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You realize that many, many movies that are made were books first, right? It's not liking making movies about books is something new.
- EGOvoruhk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If they call it "The Joker", it still better be about Batman. The first Batman (Keaton/1989) movie focused entirely too much time on The Joker
- steviepunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1While I think that the movie should have Batman in the title, the Joker is well known enough to justify calling the movie that.
However I think it is more likely that "The Joker" is just the project name while they have not yet settled on the actual movie title.
How about Batman Vs The Joker? - burdick11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They won't get an unknown. There are barely ANY unknowns in Batman Begins.
- cscalfani, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Actually, I think the first Batman movie should have been called "The Joker".
Jack Nicholson stole that movie. - JonDiggsIt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Batman Begins Returns
boo myself on that one - BaldMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You mean that you somehow believe that Batman is the Joker?
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Colons in film/game titles should be banned.
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea Buscemi would be really good.
- deimos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Snakes on a Plane
Hey, you didn't say they had to be good... - SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and timdigg, the title of catwoman had nothing to do with it being a horrible movie.
- Codee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WMD's
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Joking?
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what about
Batman 2 : The Joker - greenriver572, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1the next batman is called Batman The Dark Knight Returns, and Heath Ledger plays the joker, its gonna be RADDDDICAL
- UnclePow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about "Batman Continues"? In keeping with the title theme... yeah, I know, sounds like crap, but it's a little funny
- cam18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Batman Begins wasn't a prequel. It's a complete restart to the series...
- rifraf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I still think Mark Hammil would be the best Joker, unfortunately too old to play him now. His voice in the animated version just hit it for me.
- Mace37, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The movie wouldn't be Batman: The Joker. It's just "The Joker", batman isn't in the title of the movie.
- cam18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1best suggestion i've heard
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"batman returns to end what he began" would be a great title
- burdick11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Batman Will Return Forever Beginning With Robin"
- rifraf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That would be best. It won't happen, but still the best
- Dubie556, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Joker as he should exist in the Batman Begins universe should be less cartoonish/outlandish and more sociopathic/gritty. It should be a great change.
- MrTsLoveChild, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'd love to see "Batman: The Killing Joke"
- johnmast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First of all let me say IMDB. Then let me say that Steve Buscemi should totally be the Joker. Batman and the Joker are one of those classic comic book Hero vs. Villan stories and if it is done with the same tone as the first movie it will kick ASS!
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dunno about calling it The Joker...remember "Catwoman"
- DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So if Carrot Top were the Joker?.....
- DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well I thought the movie Catwoman was about Catwoman from the batman story and kind of a spin-off of her own movie... (thankfully I've never seen the pile so maybe it actually is about that and if it is.... well people might feel The Joker would be the same).
- DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Batman Begins: The Joker.... it was called Batman... it came out in the late 80s. To me the end of Batman Begins would lead to Batman, so if this one really involves the Joker perhaps it should be more one of his revenge, not a remake of Batman.
And at least The Never-Ending Story finally did end, unlike The Land Before Time series..... -
