I hear what you're saying about why not just use actors but in this movie they do things that couldn't be done with live action. wait and see =)

Then why spend the effort? - Chasin_Fat_Kids, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3This may be saying too much but I always pictured Beowolf as a 2-D animated film and after seeing the trailer I'd say a 2-D film would still be better. Realistic CGI, in my opinion, should be used in live action films to insert or enhance something in a film. But why create a totally realistic CGI film? Just use live actors.
The animation seems as if it's still a little too stiff as well - I'm not knocking the talent it just seems they put the "visuals" of the cart b/4 the "animation" of the horse (I know that was a stretch.)
I think a hand-drawn 2-D animated Beowolf movie would be better. I'm not saying don't use CGI, but just use it to enhance.
