- gdo01, on 01/01/2009, -3/+25There's a spoiler warning in the article summary above and the 4 times in CAPITALIZED BOLD in the intro of the article.
- newerakb, on 01/01/2009, -1/+18I'm astounded that Burn After Reading isn't on this list, for a death that I'm not going to specify, but that anyone who saw the movie would know immediately.
- TheCooler72, on 01/01/2009, -0/+16No disappearing pencil trick!? Buried.
And ***** the spoilers, too. - HotDiggityDugs, on 01/05/2009, -16/+28Boo spoilers.
Buried for not warning about the death in GT. - michaelpinto, on 01/01/2009, -3/+14There's something ironic about you burying a death story — besides we all die in the end: How can that be a spoiler?
- mynameisteejay, on 12/31/2008, -4/+14Gotta agree with Funny Games. What an awful *****' movie.
- g33b33, on 01/01/2009, -2/+11The death that sticks in my mind the most in a movie (but not 2008) is the poor guy who gets stabbed in Saving Private Ryan, while his fellow soldier hides in the stairwell.
I have had nightmares of that guy pleading with the German, saying "Wait, wait, wait..." as the blade approaches his chest at .02 mph - GenghisRon, on 01/01/2009, -2/+10anyone else surprised the Joker's "magic trick" didn't show up here?
- Impius, on 01/01/2009, -1/+9Before anyone else QQs about a spoiler alert.... There's 3 of them in big bold letters at the top of the page... and I quote from the article description "If you haven't seen some of these flicks you may be disappointed to find out ahead of time who bites the big one!"
- Frylocke, on 01/01/2009, -1/+9Just about the whole Punisher: Warzone movie should have been included. As a bonus at least. Frank Castle was definitely not fooling around in that movie.
- leif77, on 01/01/2009, -1/+9Burn After Reading... Why is that not on the list...
- davincih, on 01/01/2009, -2/+8Are you nuts? There's like 3 huge spoiler warnings right at the top of the article?
- thomascj, on 01/01/2009, -1/+6unfortunately my eye was immediately drawn to the huge colorful images taking up half of the viewing space before I saw the small text at the top of the page
- ThinkOutTheBox, on 01/01/2009, -1/+6I'm going to have to agree with you, I don't think anybody could have predicted that one coming.
- thegrantman, on 01/01/2009, -6/+11Buried because no one found a way to kill the Jonas Brothers.
- KungFuManchu, on 01/01/2009, -1/+6He should've listed the titles of the movies in the intro paragraph. Probably like most people here, I've seen some of the movies listed but haven't seen others.
"Spoiler Warning" doesn't do much good when you don't know what movies are about to be spoiled. How about this:
WARNING: the following 10 movies will have death scenes spoiled below:
-Tropic Thunder
-Wanted
-Pineapple Express
-Gran Torino
-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
-Let The Right One In
-Teeth
-The Happening
-Quantum of Solace
-Funny Games - alexforcefive, on 01/01/2009, -1/+6Oh dude, yes! That little grin he gives, as if to say "I can explain everything..."
- wracker92, on 01/01/2009, -0/+5No people exploding from Cloverfield?
No disappearing pencil trick from The Dark Knight?
No stoned to death scene from Hannah Montana: The Movie? (hey, I could hope for that last one) - alexkball, on 01/01/2009, -1/+4Benjamin was a good movie, but not GREAT. Brad Pitt wasn't really anything special and they could have lopped off a good 30 minutes (mostly from the beginning) to make it better. The 'moral of the story' at the end, Benjamin's montage soliloquy kind of fell flat, too.
- jmgoody311, on 01/01/2009, -1/+4Pfft! You think that's a Schwinn...
- Skishy101, on 01/01/2009, -1/+4The director blowing up in Tropic Thunder was the best! My husband and I had a major LOL after that. Best dumb comedy ever.
- JoeB4ever, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3I think this article confuses best deaths with best movies with deaths.
- namelessXsilent, on 01/01/2009, -1/+4No Rambo kills?
- JoeB4ever, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3So much for looking forward to seeing Gran Torino. Luckily I just got home from seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
- TheCash, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Benjamin was a piece of ***** slow paced, boring and self righteous turd. The guy ditches his child and the love of his life to go pull this Siddhartha crap because he thought his disease would rob her of a father. Dude, you taking off robbed her of a father! Great message there: if you're sick and don't feel like dealing with adversity, it's ok to run out on everyone that depends on you as long as you brush your teeth in Tibet and polish some floors.
- CTK14A, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I've been trying to find an animated gif of that scene for a while.
- tumoas, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2oh this article has spoilers so i must not read it at all
how hard is it to make a list of movies that it has spoilers of? - unloaded, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2Casualities: The Best spelling Fatalities of '08.
- trake, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2I agree, that ruined Gran Torino for me. I was going to watch it tonight..... Bah!
- SharkPuncher, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2I was hoping someone had said this.
- mooseofshadows, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2Slumdog Millionaire, anyone?
- method7670, on 01/01/2009, -3/+5yeah i have to agree the joker's magic trick should have been number 1.
buried for a crap list - Vash_aka_TK, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2Adam Goldberg is fantastic. That part creeped the hell out of me for a long time.
- NinaOdell, on 01/01/2009, -4/+6Benjamin was GREAT. Now that was a grown folks movie, and refreshing coming out of Hollywood.
- JoeB4ever, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2because I read every word of every article on digg.
- zoethebitch, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2Caption for Burning Bed in Let The Right One In is incorrect. The character (actress) named is the boy's mother. The lady in the bed is Virginia (Ika Nord).
- kenhatesemos, on 01/01/2009, -1/+3yeah, wasn't expecting that one at all.
- Guitarist970, on 01/01/2009, -1/+3I agree.....the look on their face was hilarious!
- DouglasQ, on 01/01/2009, -0/+1You mean 'at the top of the page' where the browser opens?
...and the point from where people traditionally START reading. - arapro, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2Buried for Spoliers !
- knutslie, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2buried for being a list about movies...
- andrewlotta, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2Trust me, there are plenty of "grown folks" movies that come out of Hollywood, you just need to look around a bit. Check RottenTomatoes every few weeks for new movies released that received positive reviews.
Also, if you dislike many of the new big budget teenage pulling films, look into independent films. I rarely (not never) watch the widely advertised, $300m production budget films anymore because all the production companies care about is making truckloads of money. - Syric, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2There goes my ability to enjoy Gran Torino when I watch it. My fault, I should have known better.
- DinoFire, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1I laughed at all the deaths in Funny Games.
- trake, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1THANK YOU!
for
Ruining Gran Torino for me.
I was going to watch it tonight.....
Bah! - mfhayes, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1I got on here to say just what you said.
How they left that off the list is beyond me... - sittered, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2For all those who hated Funny Games: You were supposed to; it wasn't meant to entertain.
From the same blogger, actually:
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Interview-Funny-Gam ... - WayOutWest, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2I hated Funny Games too. No originality there.
- btschul, on 01/01/2009, -2/+3The bit where he rewinds the movie was pretty good, though.
