- PinkFloydFan, on 10/27/2008, -2/+49The next one is gonna be darker, and when Bruce Wayne puts on the batman costume he will talk even grittier, like he just inhaled a mouthful of sand.
- roctimo, on 10/27/2008, -4/+49I'd love to see the actor who is willing to play a villain and follow Heath Ledger. Good, *****, luck.
- DownIsTheNewUp, on 10/27/2008, -2/+33Batman: Eddie Murphy
Robin: Shia LaBeouf
Joker: Eddie Murphy
Catwoman: Kim Kardashian
Riddler: Matthew Lesko
Alfred: the old dancing man from the Six Flags commercial
Bane: John Cena
Mr. Freeze: Steven Seagal
Black Mask: Emilio Estevez
Talia: Tila Tequila - sk1m781, on 10/27/2008, -0/+30Did that article really say anything at all?
- roctimo, on 10/27/2008, -1/+29I'll watch a third one if Gary Busey plays Batman.
- gaqua, on 10/27/2008, -0/+25I hear in the next one, he builds a batmobile out of pure woe.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -0/+22What, no High School Musical 3?
- RumpleForeskin3, on 10/27/2008, -0/+21He would make an awesome Riddler if they let him write his own lines.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -2/+21I'm fine as long as they aren't making movies like Batman and Robin. That was a disaster.
- 1807, on 10/27/2008, -1/+17Batman will be so black even emo kids will say Hey! Lighten up!
- fupresti, on 10/27/2008, -0/+13WB is going to make another Batman, with or without Christopher Nolan.
My guess is he does make a 3rd movie, if only to prevent WB from signing someone like Brett Ratner to ruin what he worked so hard to create. - dweeb79, on 10/27/2008, -0/+13Godfather Part 3???!!!!! Are you serious?
Return of the Jedi was just ok (f*cking Ewoks)
The Matrix was just ok - mywhitenoise, on 10/27/2008, -0/+12The great thing about hiring Eddie Murphy (and Mike Myers) is that they'll accept any movie, and they'll play all the roles. It's amazing they managed to work together in Shrek.
- DownIsTheNewUp, on 10/27/2008, -3/+15Godfather Part 3, Matrix Revolutions, Back to the Future 3 all sucked.
- asdfgafawer3, on 10/27/2008, -1/+13Right, because no one was hyping over Ledger's performance before he died.
- woodyinthehoody, on 10/27/2008, -0/+12LOTR won best picture, and Last Crusade was ***** good.
- asdfgafawer3, on 10/27/2008, -1/+12Now, let's not drag BTTF into it. 3 Might have been the weakest but it didn't suck.
- CoreyTamas, on 10/27/2008, -1/+12Batman will be so dark he will sign the petition against having bright colors in Diablo 3.
- shagg187, on 10/27/2008, -0/+11No. This was Nolan's movie.
- Twag86, on 10/27/2008, -1/+11Godfather 3? Matrix revolution? Meh those films were terrible.
Indy and LOTR, now that's a different story.
The recent Miller comics are bad as well. "I'M THE GODDAMN BATMAN!!" - CoreyTamas, on 10/27/2008, -0/+10I don't put a lot of stock in the rumors about Depp, but don't be too hasty to dismiss him as a viable option. He's not just Edward Scissorhands and Jack Sparrow... he's also William Blake from "Dead Man", George Jung from "Blow" and Dean Corso from "The Ninth Gate".
The guy can act. If he does get cast in Batman 3, he'll be able to handle it. - t3hmyth, on 10/27/2008, -0/+10No.
- Tonicks, on 10/27/2008, -0/+9Still better than "Batman and Robin."
- asdfgafawer3, on 10/27/2008, -0/+9If any franchise could beat the 3rd movie stigma, it's Nolan/Goyer's Batman.
- 0tis, on 10/27/2008, -0/+9Let's invent a villain called "Faceface". Just to confuse people.
He has a face... on his face. Creepy. - Darren07, on 10/27/2008, -0/+9He should make movies like Memento instead.
- Xihix, on 10/27/2008, -1/+8Good, I hope he takes his time and doesn't get forced into any crap Warner Bros. wants him to do so they get more money (e.g. force him to get some sort of eye candy like Johnny Depp, make a strict release date, etc.). If his next film is anything like The Prestige, I'm sure I won't mind waiting any way.
By the way, Black Mask please. - asdfgafawer3, on 10/27/2008, -0/+7God Father 3? Seriously?
- zip000, on 10/27/2008, -0/+7I think Depp could be fine, as long as he isn't playing Heath Ledger playing the Joker.
- CoreyTamas, on 10/27/2008, -0/+6No more villains with "face" in their name, please.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -6/+12"...How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?”
The Godfather Part 3, Return of the Jedi, LOTR: Return of the King, The Matrix Revolution, Back to the Future Part 3, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
These movies show us that trilogies do work out, if written correctly. Chris Nolan has absolutely no problem with directing a film properly, it all depends on how well they write the screenplay. Before beginning production, Chris Nolan and the other writers need to focus on writing an amazing script that will satisfy Chris Nolan to the point where he thinks he can create a movie that will please the viewers.
What they should do is use Frank Miller's Batman graphic novels as influence again. Frank Miller's Batman comics are put together so well that I'd actually like them to emulate a plot from Frank Miller's Batman graphic novels again. - MyNameIsGusto, on 10/27/2008, -1/+7Sure, Back to the Future 3 was the least of the three, but it does not deserve to be in the same sentence as Godfather & Matrix 3.
- Tonicks, on 10/27/2008, -1/+7Matrix Revolutions was just an episode of Dragon Ball Z.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -2/+8the next batman is gonna be so dark, he's gonna be president
- CoreyTamas, on 10/27/2008, -0/+6The thing that scares me about someone else playing the Joker in the next film is... no established, credible actor who has caché in the industry would risk his name by trying to follow Ledger. I mean, ask yourself: Would you put yourself in the position where your credentials would be lessened by adding "failed to live up to Ledger" to your resume?
Therefore, only someone who has nothing to lose would be at the front of the line... someone whose career is so mediocre that even a major box-office bomb would be a step-up from where they currently are in terms of publicity and cash.
This means seeing Carrot Top play the Joker in the next film is a plausible reality. - XanderFrost, on 10/27/2008, -2/+8i second that.
- bagboyrebel, on 10/27/2008, -0/+6Eddie Murphy doesn't have enough parts in your casting, and none of those parts could utilize a fat suit very well.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/27/2008, -1/+6Seriously, Godfather part III was one of the biggest waste of time I've had watching a film. You can add Matrix Revolutions to that list as well.
ROTJ and BTTF Part III were average. - rexprime, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5Black Mask
- shagg187, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5Why not link to the actual article with far more insight that that ***** MTV compression?

This is the first of a three-part interview with Christopher Nolan. - truebullfan, on 10/27/2008, -0/+5I'll be fine if Nolan decides he wants to quit after "The Dark Knight". How are you supposed to top it? If he can't come up w/ a compelling reason to do another movie then he shouldn't but he should expect Warner Bros. to dump a truck of money to his door step. Nolan has really become a top 5 director in my book after Memento, Insomnia, Begins, Prestige, TDK
- BootsyGraham, on 10/27/2008, -0/+4That's because this is the real article.

Geoff Boucher always writes very interesting articles on music, comics and movies. - Phasmorphage, on 10/27/2008, -1/+5Next batman will be so dark, he'd join NWA
- CoreyTamas, on 10/27/2008, -1/+4You, Sir, are awesome.
- zip000, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3Daniel Day-Lewis is an excellent actor, but he would be horrible as the Joker - especially as the Joker as Ledger set out.
- MasterTroll, on 10/27/2008, -1/+4He was just pondering
- AnthonyFTMFW, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3My professor edited Godfather Part III. That's why he's a professor now.
- inactive, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3i have faith in nolan, i've seen most of his movies and they own
- databeast, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3My perfect batman film would be Killer Croc and Clayface, because the two of them aren't exactly evil, just no longer human, and no longer have human ethics.
Nolan has said on numerous occasions though, no super-science, no fantastical elements, which takes them both out of the running.
But yeah, Clayface, with the Chris Nolan treatment, would be awesome. He could definately make him 'realistic' I think - freezerburn666, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3aliens 3 :)
