"Interviewer: So do you think there will be a part 3 of Batman?
Christian Bale: Um, look, let’s wait and see…"
Calling this "talks" is a stretch. - SeaweedWater, on 03/19/2008, -2/+23Weekend At Joker's
- guinnessman, on 03/19/2008, -3/+23If you are a fan of Bale's and have never watched it, I highly recommend Equilibrium. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/ Great movie that is not that well known.

"I don't know, Joshy ol' buddy. Maybe it was his three ***** picture deal.
This is Don Piano at his most obvious, a desperate play to get some hits from fans who are eager to read anything about their favorite franchises. If I had this same conversation with Bale I wouldn't even imagine this was news - like I said, the guy has a three picture deal. Him coming back for another one isn't news; him saying he won't come back IS news. See how this works, Joshy?" - 22justin, on 03/19/2008, -0/+14Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin in the 3rd film!
- jsyrus, on 03/19/2008, -3/+14Christian Bale > Brandon Routh
- DeadlyCouncil, on 03/19/2008, -3/+13Best.
Batman.
Ever. - konpentchev, on 03/19/2008, -0/+9The first Batman was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Batman Returns came out in '92, I think it really came into its own, commercial and artistically. The whole movie has a clear, crisp look, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the scenes a big boost. It's been compared to Superman II, but I think Bruce Wayne has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.
- jordanlgta, on 03/19/2008, -2/+9Batman Begins is still one of the best movies to be released between 2000-2008. People that have not seen it do not give it a chance for many reason, one of them being that they think it is just a "superhero movie" which, as we know, it is so much more.
- tamurlane6, on 03/19/2008, -0/+7ouch
- amanilaenvelope, on 03/19/2008, -2/+8The goddamn Batman, that is.
rimshot* - merripen, on 03/19/2008, -0/+6Christian Bale will do another Batman movie. No question.
- Asianwaste, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5After looking at how Schumacher ruined Tim Burton's series, I don't blame Nolan for demanding that his work be left untouched by the unclean and untalented.
- SaladCactusKing, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5That's a pretty damn short interview.
- DeathJux, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5lol, very well done.
- DeathJux, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5One of my favorite movies ever. Gunkata is so insanely kick-ass.
- mcbeezle, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5Equilibrium?
- Jeepy, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4Fortunatly with Nolan we don't have to worry about him ditching the project halfway through filming to work on a multi-million dollar version of The Flash.
- InfinitySnatch, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4Just wait until he stars in The Matrix reshoot.
- psbpv3o, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4not a very good movie. but gunkata is awesome, and christian bale is awesome. So it's one of my all time favorites. I recommend american psycho and the machinist (if only to see christian bale disgustingly skinny).
- inactive, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4I guess that means he doesn't die in the end?
- centran, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3Thanks!!!!
I chuckled at that. I think that means I am going to hell as well. Damn you SeaweedWater. - NeoCortex, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3Why does everything need to be a trilogy? When I was your age we only had one of each movie, and we liked it!
/stares off wondering what Goonies 2 and 3 would have been like - amanilaenvelope, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3* insert snarky Oh NO he wont for long comment
- Jeepy, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3Was a tongue in cheek jab at Bryan Singer.
- gcnaddict, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3Who the ***** is he? /points at Nichleson
- floejoe, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3Maybe we should wait for The Dark Knight to come out and see if it's any good before we demand a third part. For all we know TDK could completely suck, although I admit it looks terrific. Same was said for Matrix Reloaded, however, and that was a flop. So before you demand "THERE MUST BE A 3RD PART" let's see if this is any good.
- tdogg241, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2Even the answer to the followup question is pretty standard doubletalk from the film's star.
- solid12345, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2No, the only one who should be the Penguin is Bob Hoskins....maybe James Gondoflini.
- mkriss5681, on 03/19/2008, -2/+4Batman 3 should be a good Bane story line. Not the horrible job they did last time with his character.
- SocialPoison, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2As big of a fan as I am of the madness series...
- MforMike, on 03/19/2008, -2/+4RIP Heath Ledger, at least you have a good movie people will remember you by
- tbenathan, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2That's a hell of a great idea. He's a terrific actor and can easily play the part! It's too bad that Penguin is one of Batman's least fearsome foes.
- Elranzer, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2CGI Man-bat or Clayface? Kill yourself.
- jordanlgta, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2I expected a completely surprising fulfilling answer just like you!
- norman619, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2How can you fail when you mix martial arts with guns. Epic win! I saw this in the move theater. It was strange. They didn't really rum many, if any, ads for this movie when it was in theaters. I saw it by pure chance. I still remember everyone in the theater (including me) exclaiming "God damn!" and "Jesus!" when Bale went into action. Love this movie.
- TheMatches, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Really I think that was the point.
I mean, how else would batman sound? Like Bruce Wayne? - OptimismPrime, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Equilibrium is more of a loose interpretation of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 then a reshoot of the Matrix, but.....whatever....
- mmortal03, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1While you are waiting, see if you can find a copy of this episode of The New Batman Adventures, you'd probably like it: http://www.tv.com/batman-gotham-knights/legends-of ...
- bowserkid, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Oh and when I say "cartoon" I mean the original "Batman: The Animated Series."
- bjs3171, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Empire of the Sun. his first feature film, directed by Speilberg. Bale's about 12 years old, or so.
- Elranzer, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1They could try to be accurate and hire some no-name Brazilian bodybuilder to play Bane. Hopefully they won't just hire the Dwayne-the-Rock-Johnson or John Cena.
- web2pointYo, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1oops...maybe not
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25794327/ - Asianwaste, on 03/19/2008, -1/+2I'll give that Batman Returns wasn't that good... but comparing Batman Returns to Batman Forever and Batman and Robin is like comparing an old apple to a sack of vomit, and in the case of Batman and Robin, a pile of *****.
- reichg, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Gondofilin is huge, he should play bane or somthing
- solid12345, on 03/19/2008, -1/+2Well hate to say it but Tim Burton ***** up with Batman Returns, he was somewhat able to get away with loosely playing with the mythology in the first Batman but the second was his ego using the franchise to inject his own vision of a film with Batman coming secondary.
- OptimismPrime, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1there were, until they were defeated by the Justice League of Persia
