This will definitely hurt Bale's career.Wtf is he thinking?Rise of Machines might have been a successful movie but it was full of plot holes and an insult to fans including the quality of the two previous movies.
It took the movie in the right path but it was just poorly executed.
Anyway,with the right director etc. the series can still be redeemed.

Someone was going to make the chip eventually. It just so happened that Cyberdyne got their hands on it, thanks to Sarah Connor. Which ended up only delaying the inevitable. In theory, it works, but a much less crap movie could've been made around that theory. It was a throw-away concept among all of the pointless bad action.
