- sfpfc, on 10/10/2007, -6/+53Arnold, come back from the future and kill this idea before its too late
'm a movie critic by trade, and until recently I got paid to tell you people which movies merely stink and which movies you shouldn't screen near an open flame. Well, I'm putting the burden of lousy movies back on you. It's very simple: If you stop going to bad movies, they'll stop making bad movies.
If the movie used to be a TV show, just don't go.
After Roman Numeral II, give it a rest.
If it's a remake of a classic - RENT THE CLASSIC!
Tell them you want stories about people, not a 100 million dollars of stunts and explosions. People it's up to you.
If the movie stinks - JUST DON'T GO!" - guydudeman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+38This can't be good.
- LordSkywalker, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33For me, "McG" is about two steps up from Uwe Boll. And I wish Uwe Boll were a dead, rotting corpse.
- scabbers, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27T3 never happened as far as I'm concerned. The ending of T2 was the real end! I AM THE DECIDER.
- DesertDude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21James Cameroon was the essence of the series. The series was more about thrill, suspense and edge-of-your-seat tension, THEN special effects and explosions. T3 was just explosions, and T4 looks like it's gonna be explosions coupled with bad acting. That's Hollywood: money-worshiping scoundrels.
- Crizzle, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19Wow...do they really have to keep ruining amazing classic movies with ***** sequals? I really hope they don't make a T4.
- Leo21k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Then like Charlie's angels I'll likely watch the first half and not bother to finish the movie.
- chris9902, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14noooooooooooooo!
that is all. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Oh God. Not another Power Rangers movie...
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12A movie doesn't have to be an epic triumph of the human spirit (tm) to be a quality movie.
Example: T2 was brilliant as an action film, T3 was a soulless, lifeless, completely boring wreck. - whisperedlie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12there is a time and place for 100 million dollars of stunts and explosions.
- Smight, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Maybe T4 will be a prequel to "Pitch Black"?
- Zombi, on 10/13/2007, -3/+14I hope this project gets Terminated.
- MrMetal, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10I'm a huge Schwarzenegger fan, but can you really say that he's a good actor? No. He made a name for himself by flexing and looking mean. Thing is, that's what you'd expect from a Terminator, so I think Vin Diesel will work well.
- raynar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11I terminate people a quarter mile at a time.
- shinedout, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Totally Agreed, Cameron brought a psychological aspect of father/son, mother/father awareness into T2, presenting the question to it's viewers - Can a robot be a nurturing father figure? This is why Arnold was such a great character and we identified with The Terminator model 101. While T3 scrambled to keep up with this, T2 and it's film maker, James Cameron, have to be noted for their groundbreaking Sci -Fi psychological viewpoints. It's painfully obvious today's films just aren't made this way much more.
- internetcoward, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Only if he is a terminator/nanny.
- Bara, on 10/10/2007, -7/+13I watch movies to be entertained, and a 100 million dollar Lord of the Rings entertains me far more than the next Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's List (as good as those movies were).
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Isn't that what Arnold was in T2?
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yes. After you've already secured a brilliant writer, experienced director and talented, hungry actors.
- shinedout, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5No movie in the series will come close to being as good as T2. Especially without James Cameron helming.
- Decneps, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5My head just exploded.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5While we're at it, why don't McG and Joel Silver get together and do another movie like the one that killed the first Batman franchise. Then they can cast Diesel, put nipples on the terminator, like they did to Batman, and call it Terminator XXX. Welcome to the era of s*^t flix, no taste required, Oh, I have an idea. Add a kid sidekick. Terminator Junior. Yeah, that'll win big.
- AlmostEvil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5So, Terminator with boobies then... Oh, no wait.. that was Terminator 3.
- HeyArnold, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Not one word in that headline made sense.
- bjs3171, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5i say if the director doesn't even have a name, don't give him the job. he's a DIRECTOR, not a rapper.
- Jonjonr6, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I didn't like T3 because of the chick. But, then again, it wouldn't have hurt the movie to have a full frontal of her.
- cambrown99, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This movie will suck. I was surprised at how good the upcoming Fox TV show "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" turned out. I was expecting a disaster, but it was really good and stayed pretty close to pre-T3 canon.
- GhostRican, on 10/10/2007, -13/+16If it's anything like T3, this is gonna be garbage.
- flipcritic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The G in McG obviously stands for Garbage. Here's hoping he pulls off a miracle.
- NeoRicen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Uh oh....
- Ratteler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Saying McG is 2 steps up from Uwe Boll is so unfair. They are equally crappy and skill-less, just in different ways. Neither should be allowed to direct traffic, never mind film.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -0/+3I wish they didn't make T3.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3And probably think 'grr' a lot less.
Unless, you know, you have a thing for Vin Diesel. - Gauthic, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3I agree, the universe is unique enough as far as movies go (though there's lots of other media with an epic, dark, gothic future), and Riddick is the role that VinDiesel seems born to play.
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He said don't go past II. In that case he was absolutely right.
Is there a III that was good? The only I can think of is Indiana Jones. BTTF 3 was good, but not as good as the other 2. - IntoTheWired, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Combining two of Vin Diesel's greatest assets; acting like a robot and mindless action sequences.
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The producers don't care how good it will be, they care how much money it'll make.
- Shigglyboo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Vin Diesel is a joke. The movies he's starred in are like crappy music videos without the crappy music. Obvious "extreme" sports influence. Terminator was never about that. It was a brilliant sci-fi story about the uprising of artificial intelligence. Cast someone we haven't seen before. Or get Christian Bale to be a new type of terminator or something. Or just use CGI like the T-10,000 at Universal Studios (that show is better than the 3rd movie).
- oldhick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3sorry to hear that you're sorry to hear that I hear that.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+3You only expect that from a terminator because Schwarzenegger created that muscle-man stereotype. Let's try something different with terminators (but not a chick like T3). Or just bring back Arnold and have lots of him digitally as the army of terminators in the future war.
- apoc06, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2the scary thing is that i like the idea of christian bale as a terminator. he knows how to play a cold and physically imposing character.
more than anything, i would like to see the terminator character actually act intelligently. i mean the movie is based on an artificial intelligence that evolves to be smart enough to take over the world. i think that it could create some semi-intelligent killing machines that are a tad smarter than the antagonists from the last three movies. how do you kill a robot you cant outsmart? that would actually refresh the series more than anything in my eyes. - sebcity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2AGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
- P0isonM1nd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wow, a second rate actor and a third rate director. Can't wait.
- yfguitarist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Vin Diesel is good in Saving Private Ryan.
- ItsMyWii, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3WTF The Rock over Vin Diesel.
- spawnfree, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Aliens was made for 18.5 mill.
you cant beat inginuity, creativity and talent.
Too bad there are only about 5 people in hollywood today that have it. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"I think he'd be a great fit for the Terminator series,"
WTF? Idiot. - jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Sounds like BSG. Since BSG is awesome, maybe this series has a chance?
