Sure I could read the books (I think there's some back story involving the Space Jockeys in them anyway), but I'd rather another Aliens-quality film came along instead!
I've got my fingers crossed! - Tyrghast, on 05/31/2009, -1/+7Star Trek was a good reboot. This, however, will not be. Stop taking great franchises and destroying them. Alien and Alien 2 (3 and 4 aren't even worthy of the bargain bin at Wal-Mart) were masterpieces in all aspects, from dialogue to story to action to drama. And Alien prequel is destined to fail.
- IneffablePolk, on 05/31/2009, -0/+6In fairness that last two Alien movies were prequels, taking place on modern day earth. So we have a very large time frame of people having contact with aliens. And just consider how far into the future the Alien series is. They pretty much have to make it a prequel, unless they want the alien to attack Milliways.

So there is an interesting storyline there to be developed. It's just it's such a classic, one of most memorable films I've ever seen, hope they can produce something on par.

I think I am going to throw up Alien and Aliens and all the comics are something I take seriously I have been into all that stuff since I was a kid. I understand some stuff to a point being remade but this is not something that needs a reboot and whats even worse is it will be rushed look at the interview they practically admit to that.
Sorry for ranting but this pisses me off, I hope to god they do this correctly but something like always tells me that FOX will find some way to ***** it up. Ever since Aliens 3&4 and the pitiful AVP movies I don't know if I can take this one. I want Ridley Scott or James Cameron back or both I know James is working on Avatar so that's fine wait for him to get done then make the movie.

As long as the plot is horrible or non-existent and there's 90 minutes of constant metal clanging and explosions it'll be the best reboot ever. /s
