- sdrawkcaB, on 10/12/2007, -7/+98Indeed the use of NIИ is amazing. To be more specific the song is from The Fragile (Halo 17) track name "Just Like You Imagined". It was also in the other trailers.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+90I'm digging you just for И. I had no idea you could do that. :p
- jumpertk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+51This movie is going to kick so much ass I can't wait for it to come out

These are state secrets here. Digg this down or I will kill you - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28finally an "epic" movie that isn't complete *****... this movie looks damn good.
- MikeSobe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/300_hd.html HD Version of THIS trailer. Although yahoo isn't as fast as apple its worth the wait.
Rigbymatt ^^^ check here - jlunski, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Do you mean cinematography? A filmography is a listing of films pertaining to an actor, director, producer, etc... And yes, the cinematography looks awesome.
- Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25That was seriously one of the coolest trailers I've ever seen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21For anyone curious, the US release date is supposedly set at March 9, 2007.
As for the release dates in other countries, check this link:

- MikeSobe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24For those of you who have not seen this movie before, check out the HD trailers found on apple.
http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/hd/ - teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Somehow 301 just doesn't have the same ring to it.
- guimonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21It was their best defense against trolls
- Danin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20The movie based on the graphic novel based on the movie based on the true story.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I noticed that too.. and actually I hope it is. It would add a nice fantasy touch to it, which would work well with the over exaggerated depiction of the times.
- Gerolsteiner, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22Amazing cinematography, but that little patriotic bit about a new age of freedom was a load of *****; Sparta was hardly free, and was perhaps better for it, at least in war.
- guimonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18enjoy "Deck the Halls" then, I for one am looking forward to 300!
- Visceral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18This stuck me as strange as well. The Spartans *hated* the concept of Democracy with a passion. They did kick the ***** out of the Persians though.
- ulyssesyt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16dude, it's okay if you're gay. just come out and it'll all be alright.
- subxero37, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21It's a Cyrillic letter called I (pronounced like "e" if I remember right.) The Cyrillic alphabet kicks some serious ass. KoЯn loves Cyrillic too.
- aarona, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15@gecko:
I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but according to "Weapon: A Visual History of Arms and Armor" (one of the books I keep on my desk for reference in my art and character design) the Greek hoplites from the 7th - 4th century BCE did in fact wear bronze cuirasses along with their bronze helmets and greaves. But according to Gardner's "Art Through the Ages" later Greek art often depicted athletes and warriors (between which there was only a blurred distinction) in the nude. In fact, (citing "Weapon" again) their breastplates were often shaped like nude chests so as to make the warriors appear nude, emphasizing their bravery.
I believe Frank Miller was probably trying to honour tradition and depict the Spartans as they would have been depicted by ancient Greeks: nude. Obviously, amid the severed arms, legs, and heads, gouts of blood spurting tens of feet skyward, and corpses piled upon one another like so much litter, the sight of a penis flapping the breeze wouldn't go over well with the censors, so the Spartans won't be naked in the film, but they'll be depicted as close to it as they can be to keep it true to the comic.
Just my thoughts. - herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13that was the movie that inspired miller to write the graphic novel
- budderfly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12wowwowweewaa!
- oodja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Freedom ≠ democracy.
Insofar as all of Greece wanted to be free *from* Persia, the Spartans were all about freedom. Democracy is a whole different ball of wax, and rarely figured into the ancient conception of what it meant to be "free". - modifiedbears, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/300_hd.html
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I'm sure it's going to "kick ass" but whether it will suck too is up in the air. If you've read the comic it seems like they're having some trouble directing Leonidas.. He doesn't spend all day screaming with his mouth wide open, he's a soft-spoken badass who doesn't have to yell. Minor gripe, but he is the main character and it may affect the final product.
- RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I just watched the trailer. I'm ashamed of my body.
- qwertydvorak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9screw HD at home, i am hoping it gets released to IMAX.
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Choice of color looks enticing. A movie I'm looking forward to seeing for visuals, whether it sucks or not.
- Moebaca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9HOLY *****! god bless you for posting this on digg!
- AxeSwinger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You cant recruitment starts at birth.
- oodja, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9A lot of that is straight from Frank Miller's graphic novel, so it's not so much a rip-off of LOTR as it is an attempt to portray the Persian Empire as it must have appeared to the Greeks of the 5th century BCE: strange and decadent, but most of all alien.
- isemism, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I should have seen that The Fragile was destined to be a rich source of soundtrack material long ago. Now that I think back, that was a highly underrated album and was over compared to The Downward Spiral (no comparrison). Time only tells, but that was an amazing use of that song in the trailer.
- bikini, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10i think i just peed.
- robfrench, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6after watching that trailer, you're really complaining about the chest armor? Besides the fact it looked amazing, of all the unrealistic things that was in there you're going to attack the chestpieces? really?
Ok, just checking.
I be sure to see it on opening night and let you know if the footwear looks out of place while he's fighting the ogre-thing with blades for hands. - rockforever, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Epic Battles should be imaginative and picturesque. This film looks amazing.
- OwenX, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13I hope this is released on Xbox 360's video service, I hope to watch it in HD at home.. looks like a great movie to watch in HD (Or anything)
- conwayblue, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12Download this on Live Xboxers
- DaedalusvX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's based on a Frank Miller comic. We know it's going to be inaccurate. We don't need you to swoop in and save the day by reminding us, no matter how awesome you think it makes you look.
- ryodoan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5From what I hear the entire movie IS done in HDR. This info comes from a friend that has been following the movie for a long time, so I would imagine its correct.
- Hypermarkalan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Maybe you should look up the meaning of dialectic, you egotistical douchebag. Dialectic has to do with argumentation, and while that makes a smidgen of sense in that sentence, you probably meant to use a word like rhetoric, braggadocio, or syllogism. Truthfully, I don't know what the hell you meant, but seeing as how you're only commenting in here to piss in everyone else's cereal it hardly matters, now does it?
Dammit. I just can't help feeding the trolls. - drunkjack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?
- queekus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Yeah but, ,
Will It Blend? - zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6There's no point in arguing you, since your own point makes very little sense. Skinny little boys? How can you tell what size of person likes a movie? I'll give you the overblown heroics part - that is taken for granted, it's the reason people will see this movie. Moronic dialogue? You can tell that from a trailer, can you? And no subtlety? I'll ignore the irony of the context out your accusation, and point out instead that any single frame of this movie will have more subtlety than a lot of other movies out these days.
And anybody who diggs your post down without arguing your point isn't coward, they just have better things to do than debate an ass. - TheWriteGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"This--! Is--! SPAR-TA...!!!!!"
- evilpettingzoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Must see this movie at all costs... Can not stop the urge to buy movie ticket... Power of trailer too strong...
- notforsale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@AxeSwinger
you beat me to it, I would add we are all probably too soft nowdays for a Spartan lifestlye as well. -
