Dude, I'm an actor and the way you just described acting makes me want to vomit. Sacha Cohen's portrayal of Borat was an amazing example of a performer becoming a character. He's a brilliant improvisational comic who is obviously quite a chameleon.
Are you a sensitive 90s man? Do you cry when you have to? Jesus, man. The award was for performance in a comedy and he was funny in the movie. I don't think that Borat was supposed to "touch" you. Acting is merely taking part in a role. Memorizing lines has little to do with some types of acting, especially improvisational. If Cohen is a disgrace, forget everyone who was ever on Who's Line Is It Anyway. The way you're saying it, acting is merely memorizing a script and reading lines, which is entirely wrong.
