- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+69Very good site. 836 deaths in LotR? Peter Jackson, you sick *****.
- viperman5000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+59One at a time.
- alexhengen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+39What about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Didn't 6 billion people die in that one? What about how many people populated Alderaan in Star Wars?
Boo. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Where's Hot Shots Part Deux!
- mr.hostility, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30300 should effectively smash this record, I do believe.
- Malcx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28>>don't forget about the Ewoks on the Forest moon of Endor
I've been trying to forget about them for 20 years... - doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27only 836 on Return of the King? that seem really low
- syntek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Dugg for John Preston in Equilibrium (that movie kicks ass, yet gets no recognition).
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Yes, but those 88 were everyone in the movie apart from Arnie and his kid.
- oriolesfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8What a great concept. Pretty useless, but still fun.
- techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9What kind of nerd sits on digg tying to make him self seem like less of a nerd by calling other people nerds?
Oh yeah, that's right, a bully!
(And I thought I had escaped elementary school bullies) - cvindustries, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I don't understand a word you just said.
- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6don't forget about the Ewoks on the Forest moon of Endor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_moon_of_Endor#Endor_Holocaust - aargh01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Good to see Tequila and Hard Boiled are still up there! Only giant epic fantasy war battles can top the John Woo two-gun style! And it was filmed almost fifteen years ago, with no CG actors meeting their sissy digital end, only real stunt men with real squibs going off on them.
Booyah. - markperia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The kind of nerd with a passion for movie body counts.
Seriously though if you're just gonna ridicule nerds here maybe you shouldn't be visiting digg. I'm pretty sure most of the people here are nerds. - brundlefly76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I will kill you last.
- 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"where's Frank?"
"I let him go" - bbear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Hot Shots part deux should have at least been number 2 on the list with 500+ people killed in the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acjKQLbpAUk&mode=related&search=
- Dochtuir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I think they're only going by onscreen deaths, So they're not counting planet or ship destruction. Or they just haven't done those movies yet.
- SirNoobius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3it's not how many people died. it's how many bodies
- dumpstergames, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Battle Royale 2 has seriously insane amount of Bodies in it.
But lets not forget Commando. Arnie kills hundreads of guys and the only injury he gets is a stab wound from Bennett.
"Let off some steam, Bennett." - doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Well there was Alderaan... but there were also 2 Death Stars, 1 Super Star Destroyer, and numerous other rebel and imperial capital ships... all gone
- 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3circular saw blade to the head
best kill of the movie - DaceDiath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do movie like Blade really count? I thought vampires where already dead to begin with :P
I did love the total from Christian Bale:
Current totals: films - 396, characters - 150
Misc: 1 dragon
Beat that :P - epalla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3kingdom of heaven had a lot of deaths, it oughta be up there. There are friggin fields of dead people.
- flair1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here are the Body Counting Rules
http://moviebodycounts.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1133228586 - bmw@, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where's Bambi Meets Godzilla (1969)? One.
- Carbolin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Seriously
I'm sad to find out there were only 88 kills in Commando :/ - arnar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@doddilus: the guy said he counted conservatively. I.e he only counted kills you could explicitly see on-screen or where you would see bodies lying afterwards. So - in fact there were alot more but they were not possible to count properly.
Funny though that the people on the forums over there were doubting the count 836 because they found it to be so high.
Arnar - flair1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Only on screen deaths count. You see the person die. So a mass destruction scene does not count.
- Blizzardman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4How the hell did they count Return of the King bodies?!
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Stars Wars wins, hands down.
- turrican, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I dunno... did Alderaan's population exceed that of Earth?
...Hitchhiker's Guide FTW! - dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I guess they don't count mass destruction scenes, or zombie movies. I don't see Titanic on the list either.
- oskite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh hell, I just said exactly the same thing as 98acura. Didn't refresh before posting.
- 98acura, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The last samurai? I mean the point of the movie was that every one of them died and he was the last one.. there were a lot of deaths in that movie.. and its not even on the list?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Arnie still in the top lists, gotta love Commando, he's the best at racking up those bodies... plus he did so many memorable quotes in it, "right?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYT2i3fbdC4 - Brasky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What about War of the Worlds?
I bet there is a ton more in that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No Braveheart? There's got to be at least more than 300 on-screen deaths in that movie...
- Llanowar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Yeah, that many death. and yet tons of movies are way more bloody.
Shame on you Peter Jackson. :p - Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Highschool Battle Royale was outrageous. Best thing to come out of Japan since sushi. Unfortunately the second one was pretty lackluster.. although did have a big body count.
- blindsidedude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is number 35 in body counts, hahaha who would have expected it.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The same way the people who look for easter eggs do it...one frame at a time.
- sovietmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder if these are human-only body counts. If not, I'm sure Hard Boiled would take the crown.
Edit: "human, humanoid, or creatures (ie monsters, aliens, zombies.)" - zain832, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1good, fun website. Although they need to add more films, nice pass time website.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Equilibrium. Best martial arts choreography ever (yeah, I know...people say 'best ever' about all kinds of stuff, but this time it's really true...OK? I promise...heh...). And Christian Bale wins the title of the guy who killed the most people on-screen in one movie. Now I've gotta go put that DVD in the player again for the first time in 2007. ;-)
- kovac9478, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so they didnt count star wars episode 4.... i dont really agree with these rankings. star wars SHOULD be #1
- bodycounter, on 08/28/2008, -0/+0www.bodycounters.com has kingdom of heaven counted.
- alwilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Counting kills in a movie and then posting the number on a website? Don't people have anything better to do with their lives? I'd rather watch fish swimming in a bowl.
- boothkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It would be nice to see an actor ranking list.
