- prolifemama, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4Doesn't Scripture tell us that there will be times when nonsense is seen as sense, and false is declared to be true? We're in those times right now. Our consolation is that simply saying something is true doesn't make it true any more than declaring something to be false doesn't make it false.
But the undeniable truth is that abortion devastates aborted mothers and fathers and destroys families. Abortion dismantles the closest relationship in the human family - a mother and her child. It cuts against the deepest grain in the human heart, especially the mother's. A society that holds up abortion as a solution to its problems is blatantly lying, and inflicting evil upon its members. It abandons them to their self-indulgences, and its strength will not stand.
Abortion is more dangerous to those who commit it than to those who die of it. The dead are in the lap of God. The abortionists do not admit their sin, and so continue to commit it. Their souls are deadened by repetition, they are compensated by material wealth, yet their consciences continue to prod them to cease their sin.
Our obligation as their sisters and brothers is to continually invite them back, to be ready when they seek reconciliation, and share the Good News with them.
Sometimes I hear believers stating they will not pray for someone - he or she is too evil to warrant prayer. Are they kidding? Whom does Christ seek most fervently but those who are most lost? We can do no less. - lazerus9, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1They support it for all but their ilk!
