Blowtorch Caused Universal Studios Fire
syfyportal.com — A fire that spared highly valuable soundstages but marked the end of some of Hollywood's genre history apparently started with a blowtorch. Fire officials in Los Angeles County said a fire last week that destroyed sets and an a attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood started when a blowtorch was used to heat asphalt shingles.
