- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+48Hot Fuzz was a great film!
- Books, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2228 Weeks Later (along with days) ranks in my top ten list. Loved those movies. And the duo from Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead are ***** hilarious on screen together.
- kirb59y, on 10/11/2007, -9/+24Wrong. No mention of 300 or Knocked Up.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+20Worst list I've ever seen. You claim Shrek and Spiderman 3 fans shouldn't bother looking and yet Bug and Primevil are on the list, two of the worst movies I've EVER seen, much less in this year.
- fadetoone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13I'd say 300 has been my favorite action movie, and Knocked up has been my favorite comedy for 2007 so far.
Honorable mention to The Fountain because it was freaking trippy and the ending was spectactular. - luweez90, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Only a moron would say they were the worst movies even though they hadn't seen them themselves, and only judged from reviews ;-)
- peeinian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9The action sequence at the end of DeathProof I did not get. Couldn't the whole 10 minute car chase (whatever you wanna call it) have been averted by simply stopping the car? Also, nothing about the 60 minutes of dialogue made me "get in the heads of the characters." Knocked Up should be on this list!
- severedsceptic, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Deductive reasoning: If the writer is in the USA and the movie is NOT in the USA, then the writer has not seen the movie, therefore, it could not be considered for the list.
- develdevil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I agree with this guy's analysis of Death Proof. I absolutely dugg it. The action sequence at the end was absolutely thrilling.
- xmkatx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The only *good* thing about Death Proof was the stunt.
I agree with 28 Weeks Later. I didn't like it more than 28 Days but it was good on its own. More accessible, too. - LouBrown, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6If you like the team of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright (Shaun / Hot Fuzz), you should definitely check out "Spaced". It's a TV serie that aired for two seasons and you can definitely distinguish their signature style.
The "Big Train" TV serie is also worth checking out if you like their humor style, combined with "Monty Python"-style absurdity. - zachblume, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Children of Men was badass.
- SwitchXFactor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Blasphemy without 300, i'm sorry. Haven't seen knocked up yet, but I want to.
- luweez90, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I feel bad for you.
- DopeWeasel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4DVD Release Date: July 31, 2007
Like anyone would read a comment buried this far down anyway... crappy new comment system!!! - crackedplastic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Definitely agreed with Hot Fuzz and 28 Weeks Later. Should have included You Kill Me.
- empressofmetal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That's exactly what the listing said, so why are you burying it?
- Crispin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I guess you didn't RTFA.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8"Best Film: Hot Fuzz"
*digg* - addictedidol, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5This guy sucks at picking out movies. Sorry.
- ryrysofly, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3best movie - 300
best comedy - Knocked Up
best action flick - Shooter
best thriller - zodiac
honorable mention - Hot Fuzz - johnny23, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3are you kidding? They should have called it "28 plot holes later"!
- The guy's wife gets trapped in the house with hordes of infected and she escapes with a little nip on the arm?
- The military finds out she's a virus carrier (but showing no signs of infection) so they put her in a little room, unguarded, that a civilian has access to?
Yes, I could go on, but I don't want to waste my time on that turd of a movie. - brister, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Deathproof a good movie? give me a break. That movie was ass. I like QT but he is not some god incapable of making bad movies like some people believe. Deathproof was an boring, self indulgent, when is this damn thing going to end film that was suppose to be a "grind house" film but grind house movies never opened with 45 min of boring conversation of which you can't even remember a good line. Unlike pulp fiction where the dialog was very entertaining and memorable.
I completely disagree with that list. - TigerX, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Hot Fuzz was good, but I think that Black Snake Moan made for a better film overall. Breach was good. Zodiac was good. Meet the Robinsons was a playful diversion as well. The Lookout was pretty good independent fare. It's been a pretty good year for film so far. Summers a little lack luster, but that's blockbuster season for ya.
- dustblaaze, on 10/11/2007, -8/+10Knocked Up is my #1
- simplejoe79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2shooter was the best action flick for sure.....
- shmatt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3None of those are from 2007 except for Spider-man. Killer of Sheep was made in 1977 for cryin out loud.
- agimat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3
Bridge to Terabithia
/You owe it to yourselves to see this movie - simplejoe79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2WORD.....
- sephiroth965, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Umm did they forget 300 came out in 2007 or something? It came out earlier than all of these but it still came out in 2007... WTFNO300?!
- fadetoone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Then why bury it because Deathproof got props?
- Sornos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2When's it out on DVD?
- shmatt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2There is a girl with a machine gun for a leg in the movie... yeah, I think suspension of disbelief is necessary if you go see Grindhouse
- nmcnface, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Agreed. 28 Weeks Later was very disapointing. And saying it has the best direction? It's another one of those movies cursed by the shakey-cam fad. I couldn't tell what the heck was going on.
- IbnDigg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I read your comment, only because I was testing the new system.
Its already out in the UK by the way - AdHaR, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3this is blasphemy...this is madness...dugg down....
- thatchimp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1dude, Children of Men was freakin' amazing. I agree though, this list was pretty lame.
- Zippo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Surf's Up is a great movie, it really is. Just go to a night showing to avoid the kids. Pirates III was great too.
- jstem1994, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Haven't been to the theater yet this year.
Actually in a few years... Netflix! - razit3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1this is SPARTA!!!!!!!
- Coreguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Best movie NO ONE liked but me:
PRIMEVAL
The author knows perfectly that his appetite is quite different from others - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Best of 2007 Movies: The First Half"...so what part of that says it ISN'T the best of 2007 again? English is my second language but I do feel like I have a pretty good grasp on this.
- cambrown99, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I saw a preview last Saturday night, and Ratatouille rules all for the first half of 2007. Not only a great animated movie, but also a great film.
- wiifm69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Its out - http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/1198552/Hot_Fuzz_2007_DvDRip_Eng_FxM
- thatchimp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1seriously? Ghost Rider? did we see the same film?
- Coreguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Paprika is great. I fully agree with you.
- kaplanfx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Did anyone else see Paprika? I'm not one to go out of my way to watch Japanese animation films, but I saw the trailer for this film and it looked great, so when it appeared at my local art film theater I decided to check it out. It's fantastic, the animation is amazing and the story is great with tons of twist and turns. I'm not sure you can still see it, but look for it on DVD.
-kap - tdogg241, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The first hour of Death Proof was such a ***** snooze fest, I think I actually cared LESS about the characters by the time the car chase started.
That car chase was ***** spectacular though. - steve_s, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3300 for everything. knocked up would come close to being the best commedy, but 300 beats it.
- thatchimp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Breach was horrible. The one good thing about the film was Chris Cooper, but he's good in just about everything he does. Everything else about it sucked.
Any "best of" list for 2007 with BREACH on it and not ZODIAC is seriously lacking in my book. -
