- Jamiekin, on 01/05/2009, -4/+115For a minute there, I thought Gary Oldman was dead :( Almost got a heart attack...
- michaelpinto, on 01/05/2009, -1/+68What a great character actor — his work went back so far, he was in everything from the Twilight Zone to Gunsmoke...
- ZincSaucier, on 01/05/2009, -5/+50he was an old man but he was no oldman

- WordsnCollision, on 01/05/2009, -1/+18Too bad the site's headlined with a painfully eye-killing ad banner. Dugg anyway for topic.
- geoman2k, on 01/05/2009, -2/+18yea that freaked me out. oldman is the man.
- davincih, on 01/05/2009, -0/+16Yeah it's incredible the number of movies and TV shows this guy was in. IMDB lists nearly 200, from 1954 on. Wow. Really great character actor.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -4/+20Hey guys, I've found this great new feature on digg designed to show that you agree with someone. I shall call it: The thumbs up button.
- Strongo, on 01/05/2009, -2/+17I agree. Worst title ever

RIP. - buddysystem, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8First Catwoman, now Commissioner Gordon! Robin, these deaths have to be connected! But how? And why?
- SunathAlgeraan, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8same here
- ZincSaucier, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8ah yes, the batman curse. similar to the world war 2 curse
- apetrie, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7If Gary Oldman died this would be a very poor title. No offense to the role or to Pat Hingle (much respect but this is his most RECOGNIZABLE role), but Gary Oldman is famous for way more than being Commissioner Gordon, and it would ridiculous to define him as "the guy who played Commissioner Gordon" considering all the well known characters he has played.
- aznpwnzor, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7he's faking it
he'll be back about 20 mins along - SteveIsTheDude, on 01/05/2009, -1/+7I loved it on the Simpsons when Homer said when they made the life story movie about him that he wanted Gary Oldman to play him! Gary Oldman is the mans actor.
- gfunk84, on 01/05/2009, -0/+6Adblock Plus has filters you can subscribe to... I can count the number of manual exclusions I've added over the years on one hand.
- Grikkith, on 01/05/2009, -1/+7Statistically, if you haven't seen The Dark Knight, you were probably in a coma.
- coldkill3r, on 01/05/2009, -1/+7Pat Hingle, known to film audiences as Commissioner Gordon in the "Batman" movies, has died at the age of 84.
Family friend Michele Seidman says Hingle died at his home in Carolina Beach shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.
Seidman says he decided to settle in the coastal town after shooting the movie "Maximum Overdrive" in the area in 1986. He lived there for more than 15 years.
Hingle's many film credits include "Brewster's Millions" (1983), "Baby Boom" (1987), "The Grifters" (1990) and "The Quick and the Dead" (1995). He played the role of Commissioner Gordon in Tim Burton's "Batman" and "Batman Returns" and again for Joel Schumacher in "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". - Grikkith, on 01/05/2009, -2/+8It's cool everyone, he's pretending to be dead to protect his family from corrupt cops and to help capture the Joker.
You can thank me later. - mistergoomba, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5Second Batman actor to go in the past couple weeks
- apetrie, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5If you're not 14 or under, that makes me very sad.
- laronde20, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5He may not have been major in Batman, but I remember his face. Commissioner Gordon, we salute you.
- RetroRufio, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5He lived in Wilmington, NC (as did I for years), he was super nice guy. I met him at a movie theater of all places, just before Batman Begins was to release. I got to discuss the history of Batman movies with him, he will be missed.
- thatonekid393, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5SPOILERS
- headlessclown, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5probably would have. but i dont comment on much. and i wanted to type something even though i had nothing to say.
- sharkd, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4Rest in Peace, Pat. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Trolley Shop in Southport, a couple of years back.
- Dorian822, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4This was a character actor to be remembered. Aside from his numerous film and television performances, I was lucky enough to catch Pat Hingle co-starring with Brent Spiner in Broadway's 1776. Aside from being brilliant in his portrayal as Benjamin Franklin, Hingle broke the "fourth wall" when in a moment of complete silence an audience member sneezed extremely loud, Hingle simply replied, "Bless you." The audience applauded and laughed, the show went on, and it was a memory that was burned in my mind as a moment hysterically off the cuff.
- Fogell, on 01/05/2009, -2/+6Just to clear everything up, Commissioner Gordon died yes, but the old Batman's Gordon which is Pat Hingle not Gary Oldman from the new Dark Knight 2008 movie. RIP Pat Hingle.
- mlvassallo, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4I liked that he and the actor who played Alfred where in every one of those Batman movies.
- MothBoy, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4You are pretty sharp.
- ScorpioDragon, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4No, but Eartha Kitt's was.
