- ericdano, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Hollywood cannot come up with new ideas. Period.
- heavensblade23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Anything that gets Scarlett into skimpy outfits is okay by me.
- sagefool1975, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Now if only she steps out of the spacesuit half naked like the original you might have something. Sadly the MPAA seems horribly afraid of breasts these days (at least compared to ultraviolence.) The original was a classic though, seems like it would be hard to do a remake without it being totally horrible.
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Scarlett + skin tight jumpsuit = success!!
Of course,
Scarlett - skin tight jumpsuit = MEGA blockbuster!! - wozley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Dugg for Scarlett picture! Yay!
- FearlessFreep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10but it was fun B-Movie trash!!!
That being said I think a remake is a pretty stupid idea as the original was fun in ways that probably couldn't be easily replicated. - Hentez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Hollywood would rather be safe, than be edgy and hurt the bottom line.
- Vermifax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Duran Duran should do the soundtrack.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Jesus, there's so much good SF material out there and we're subjected to a Barbarella remake?
- nblsavage, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9I would...even now :)
- azAZ09, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4...and most diggers won't understand why, but I agree their sound would suit a remake of the movie also.
- Trogdor420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If I had a spaceship it would have floor to ceiling carpeting and I would blast Duran Duran 24/7.
- sinisterdesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4intriguing, but the whole appeal of that movie (apart from jane in that spacesuit) was the psychedelic campiness of the original. i have NO idea how they could give it glossy CG effects, a hot A-list star and LOSE the 60's druggy-pscych aura of it and still make a cool movie.
of course, i'd be happy w/ 2 hours of scarlett romping around in revealing spacewear... - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm betting on Scarlett J not doing the remake.
- fadeout, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Pam Anderson is old and busted.
- heoko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just replace John Philip Law with Jude Law and its like a son doing his fathers job.
- Deegraww, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4death by SNOO SNOO (SP) maybe it's Snu snu funny quote though Futurama FTW
- FearlessFreep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4or a cameo for sure...
- trer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This movie will do good on opening weekend then falter the next week to #3
- creationltd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3-- she was passed a note by a POW that was trying to tell everyone at home the communists were lying... and then hand the note to one of the commie camp comrades... the POW is almost beat to death... --
Not true according to Snopes... http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp - BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How can you possible remake the epitome of 60s cheese in the naughts? I have a feeling they'll take an Austin Powers angle.
- kidc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wonder if Scott Weiland's song is going to be the theme song??
- BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+260s cheese + 80s cheese. That could work.
- UtopianComplex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I am not expecting any good to come of this but I do hope...
I just want the angel with his strange statements to be done as strangely oblivious and cryptic as he was before - actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lindsay Lohan? Barbarella wasn't a whore.
- bronstad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2or Duran(d) Duran(d)
- Trogdor420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You have to admit.... those creepy dolls with the fangs would be even scarier after the CGI treatment.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Only time any of my friends and I watched it was when we were drunk as hell....
- fadeout, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Your post translated: "Please dig me down."
- Vermifax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alba could be a wonderful Plan C if those two don't work out....
- Ryokurin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I loved the original since it was released when the ratings standard was new. it was PG-13 then, but it showed enough that it would easily be R now. It actually was a horrible film but I was 13, and it didn't matter. I'm willing to bet most of the other guys who remember it feels the same. Why redo it when it obviously will have to be watered down?
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Only way this works is if Scarlett or Jessica Beil does it, and it is a hard core porno movie.
The naughty slap and tickle 60's sensibilities are meaningless when there are 4 decades of XXX rated tributes to the original. All with better payoffs, money shots, and chick that make Jane Fonda in her prime look like... well... Jane Fonda now! - Trogdor420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Duran Duran is one of my guiltiest musical pleasures. That and Hall & Oates ;)
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I HATE Alba as a blond! Nothing worse than one of the most beautiful Latinas in the world trying to dye her self white.
She was best as DARK Angel! Not Ambiguously non-ethnic Angel. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2... is too brunette to play jane fonda.
- creationltd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1-- she was passed a note by a POW that was trying to tell everyone at home the communists were lying... and then hand the note to one of the commie camp comrades... the POW is almost beat to death... --
Not true according to Snopes... http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp - NCg8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0PG-13 didn't come out until Indy and the Temple of Doom. Long after Barbarella, unless I'm mistaken.
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Dino should do something really cool and remake Dune.
It'll be hard to do better, though. - sinisterdesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah, barbarella predated the PG-13 rating by 14 years. that movie would have been old enough to see itself by then...
- VinceNoir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Marx predicted this. Seriously. And I'm NOT a commie.
- thehans, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I think I just creamed my pants! But who cares about the writing.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Only Jane Fonda can get banged so hard that she breaks the machine....
Hell, Hanoi Jane took it up the ass for Vietnam... - jstohler, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Angelina Jolie!
- Blizzardman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I thought this was about that whore on American Idol.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Because the sheep will go to see it for old times sake. Which is why we either need to boycott the mpaa, or old timers.
- AdebisiTheGamer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Rose McGowan please.
Scarlett is overrated. - buddha1822, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Bury this crap... No one wants to hear about this spam about a Barbarella remake!
- Amoeba16, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Yeah -- it's too bad everything's not original like in Shakespeare's day.
- MacBastard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I second that....
Fap fap fap fappity fap fap fap fap fap fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfappityfapfapfapfap.......
The Bastard - rmad1949, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I'll third that. Hanoi Jane should have been hung for treason. Unpopular war, sure, but when she was passed a note by a POW that was trying to tell everyone at home the communists were lying... and then hand the note to one of the commie camp comrades... the POW is almost beat to death... I do not watch Jane Fonda movies. I'll leave the viewing of her movies for the children of Vietnam Vets and their friends.
