- UhhWTF, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2just go to a thrift store, buy some pants from 1985, flip your pockets inside out, and you're ready to go
- krisscofield, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I think he's referring to the self-drying, acid wash jeans.
- agentmedia, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1No, but you get a cool vest from the 80's that looks like a life vest

- msaleem, on 07/24/2008, -4/+7I was saving up to get a car, but who needs a car when... But wait, what's the millage on this thing? Haha.
- spkrcity, on 07/26/2008, -0/+7I'm holding out for a Pit Bull.
- sockpuppets, on 07/24/2008, -1/+9I'd rather bid on the mr fusion then just go back in time when this thing was cheaper.
- Sornos, on 07/26/2008, -1/+3Mr. Fusion is just a cold fusion reactor, what you want is the Flux Capacitor.
- dashdingo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4Mr. Fusion only powered the time circuits, it didn't allow for actual time travel.
- supertommy90, on 07/25/2008, -0/+23only 30,000?
- KingGorilla, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5Ooh Zoidberg at last you are becoming a crafty consumer!
- Greengoo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2I'll take eight!
- crestfall, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1it comes with the pink-shell cassette for audio tape glued to the bottom... it's worth it
- XeRoX2k2, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1only 30 grand..Great Scott!! maybe in 2015 that's every kids' weekly allowance but here in 1959 err 2008 that's a chunk of change
- KingGorilla, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5Ooh Zoidberg at last you are becoming a crafty consumer!
- sizrock, on 07/25/2008, -0/+22The disappointment of putting up $30K for a hoverboard that doesn't hover would be priceless.
Should invest in flux capacitator technology instead.- Zhang5, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4They're selling flux capacitors at Thinkgeek:

- BitKid, on 07/25/2008, -15/+8But will it blend?
- pantone286, on 07/25/2008, -0/+7Funny how skateboards from the future have memphis paint jobs circa 1985.
- MissSparrow, on 07/25/2008, -0/+4I was thinking the same thing - neon hot pink everywhere.... *gags* Not even Barbie would use this thing nowadays.
- OgniAsuob, on 07/25/2008, -1/+9can you get a refund if the damn thing doesn't hover??

- rooeeez, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2weight has nothing to do with it
- solsurvivor, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3DAMN!
... DAMN!
.... .... DAMN DAMN! - Ramble, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2Why is everything so heavy? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?
- krisscofield, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2What the hell's a JIGAWATT?

BATTER UP! - 3amboo, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Now who out of all of you is Jesus?
- jordanlgta, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5*POWAHHH
- Jovensenforcer, on 07/26/2008, -7/+0I'd buy it and then make a bong out of it.
- cmscott, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5that would be a pretty ***** bong
- santaliqueur, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3The hoverboard is not unique to this. You likely say that with every object you run across.
- 2clone, on 07/26/2008, -6/+3Umm you can built one of there yourself for under 100 dollars. Board, paint, and print out some stickers.
*Poof* instant hover Board replica.- sirbeta, on 07/26/2008, -0/+6The point is it isn't a replica. Now I'm not sure who would pay $30k for this particular item, it means a lot to some people to have a piece of the original.
- MScrip, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3This is an authentic movie prop.
"This is one of the hero Mattel Hoverboards used by Michael J. Fox in his most famous role as “Marty McFly” in the Robert Zemeckis classic 80s trilogy, Back to the Future." - horsepie, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1If you really want something like this, building a replica is the best way to go. The only reason I'd want a real prop from a movie would be to make a killing on eBay. Also, Firefox spellcheck doesn't recognise movie or Firefox as real words, what is up with that?
- InSectWar, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1You're in trouble if you cant spell movie or firefox
- horsepie, on 07/26/2008, -0/+0You should use a capital F in Firefox, because it's a proper noun. At least you know how to use "you're" properly; that puts you way above the vast majority.
- BrianJ5000, on 07/26/2008, -0/+10this is heavy
- Greengoo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Weight has nothing to do with it!
- vbc150, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1You're doing it wrong.
- Greengoo, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Weight has nothing to do with it!
- NavS, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2it'll suck when you find out there were actually more than just one of them....
- DougMcKenzie, on 07/26/2008, -0/+6Why bother? It's only another seven years till everyone's gonna have one anyway. 2015 here I come!
- t4ll3y, on 07/26/2008, -0/+13For 30K it better hover. And have a cupholder.
- imhalfpirate, on 07/26/2008, -0/+18Keep it. I've got a Pit Bull now.
- zboyet, on 07/26/2008, -3/+1Hoverboards dont work on water, unless u got power
- dunezone, on 07/26/2008, -0/+5So 30k starting bid and the pictures they have up to show the detail are complete *****. My Jurassic Park poster from India which cost me $4 had better pictures.
- S5S5S5, on 07/26/2008, -6/+1"Remember the Mattel Hoverboard used by Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) in Back to the Future Part II and III? "
I really don't want to remember parts II and III. - yurdamannowdog, on 07/26/2008, -7/+0I am working on a hover board design of my own. I don't think it will be that hard to make one that works.
I will put up my plans for it on ideas by chuck.
http://ideasbychuck.com - strategynode, on 07/26/2008, -2/+1I'd rather have good content in movies rather than a prop.
- streakybacon, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3The hoverboard is cool and all...but did you see those shoes? Now that is a good investment

- rz8472, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3The powwer of looove is a curious thing....
- rossisdead, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Could they seriously not take any larger pictures of the thing?

- Thezeppelin62, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1But does it really work?
- Boofster, on 07/26/2008, -1/+1This would be great next to my flux capacitor.
- ChayD, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1for $30K you develop a *real* hoverboard. Nice piece of memorabilia, though.
- JAGUART, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1So why don't you make like a tree and bid on this?
- secondfiddle, on 07/26/2008, -1/+030K ? Think about how you far that money would go to help a few people down on they're luck G.A.S aholicks
- MizuhoChan, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1If you look carefully, you'll see it's not the same one as in the films. The first picture is of the item. Last picture is from the film. Look at the black line. Or lack thereof.
- third_eye, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2zero bids?
- Ramble, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Last night, Darth Vader came down from planet Vulcan and told me that if I didn't bid on this that he'd melt my brain.
- Ramble, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Causality? Well, OK, you know, one event causes another, OK, but sometimes, you just gotta say, the laws of time and space? Who gives a smeg?
- ThatDeadDude, on 07/26/2008, -0/+0One day I want to meet one of the people who pays this sort of money for random movie props. And punch them in the face.
- grapesofbaath, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Then I will cut your fist off with my original Empire Strikes Back light saber.
- odinfire, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1nevermind.
- odinfire, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4Here's a much better buy on ebay if you want true memorabilia...

It's in "Awesome" condition.- frepnog, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1EPIC WIN! lol
- riptor666, on 07/26/2008, -0/+230k man Mattel has been getting pretty ruthless with their toy pricing.
- TheWriteGuy, on 07/26/2008, -0/+2This ought to be put in the sci-fi museum in Seattle.
- JungulSouljah, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Agreed.
- boozedrinker, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1It depends on how you prefer to get around town. Either pay that amount for a brand-new WRX, or do like I do and go skidding around town on a piece of painted wood that mysteriously lost it's hover ability once the movie was released. The choice is yours, my friend.
- SiXiam, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1buyer's premium = rip off
- OMGLINUXWOAH, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1I'm not your friend you fleabay watching son of a whore. Now make like a tree and get outta here.
- gondiggn, on 07/27/2008, -0/+0I remember along time ago there was an interview with the director(I think), he was talking about the hoverboards and had a stack of them beside him. He said they found a hoard of them somewhere and that they never made it to the market because of safety issues pushed by a concerned group. I don't know if he was having fun with the interviewer or what, all I remember is watching this and it was supposed to be real. I have never seen it again, maybe someone can find it and post a link. Anyone else see this? I think he was joking and creating some hype for the movie.
- willgonz, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1What kind of fuel does it take?
