- streetsim, on 04/09/2008, -20/+6So....When will Pixar be tackling a musical? Also, we don't need a classic-style Disney movie in 3D, please. I'll give you one chance, and If I like it, then fine, but don't commit to every single one being 3D.
- pasta2000, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5Disney made a musical for Toy Story. Currently, you can only see it on a Disney cruise. It is a very good show. The only bad part was Sid dominated too much.
- jeremyduffy, on 04/09/2008, -4/+28Oh dear god no. Please don't let them make a musical. EVER!
You know why Tarzan was one of the best Disney movies of all time? No characters sang.- amesjayisoolcay, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4There is singing in Tarzan.
Ratatouille is one of the greatest Disney movies of all time and has no singing.- jeremyduffy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2None of the CHARACTERS sang. Only Phil Collins and he did an awesome job of telling the story through song. And NONE of the Pixar movies were musicals so I don't know why you're bringing up Ratatouille.
- dden45, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Maybe you should watch that movie again. The gorillas sing, the trash can song, and the mother begins one song that is finished by Phil Collins.
- Elranzer, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1The Black Cauldron also had no singing.
- amesjayisoolcay, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4There is singing in Tarzan.
- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -2/+2If its going to make Disney ($)($) then they will make anything into a musical or put it on ice... I am waiting to
see them put Cars on Ice.... Ironic... don't you think.
Announcer: "And look whos coming on the ice now kids... its Lightning McQueen"
McQueen: Starts screaming because he can't stop on ice....
** Audience in fear scatters ** - R031E5, on 04/09/2008, -1/+10Musicals are not THAT bad, take for example the lion king, it is one of the best movies ever (IMO). Just stop making sequels of classical movies like Mulan 2, Cinderella 2 & 3, The Lion King 2 and all of those "what would have happened if" movies, please, they just make my eyes cry blood.
- bjs3171, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3the lion king 1 1/2, is unwatchably bad.
- qber, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3There's a Cinderella 2 and 3? What part of "happily ever after" do they not understand?
- IndigoMoss, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1The part where they can't milk it "ever after".
- lrdntwnd, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1It's not like they'll be 3D in every theatre. Probably only the IMAX releases will be in 3D... They don't mean that every film will be be done with 3D animation. As they said, The Princess and the Frog will be done with traditional animation. Not every theatre has digital screens so the roll-out of Disney Digital 3-D will only be happening in those theatres... plus, you could watch them without the glasses and still enjoy the movie.
- dbsmoker, on 04/09/2008, -4/+1Musicals SUCK! I love Pixar movies because they don't have singing tea cups and crap like that.
- Elranzer, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Beauty and the Beast was one of Disney's better musicals, if not technically their best one.
- bawpcwpn, on 04/09/2008, -12/+216THe mouse house is having a big influence on Pixar. Newt is either going to be really good or really bad. Cars 2 is just a money grabber. And I am a big Pixar fan. I hope it all goes well for them, I really do. Cars 2 is a mistake.
- 8ight, on 04/09/2008, -1/+86You're exactly right. Cars 2 is a money grabber. But why do they need to do that? It's not like everyone of their films rakes in loads of cash. And Cars merch still sells like CRAZY. I know, I have a two year old... and he loves that *****.
But what's funny is it was his first Pixar movie. I decided to show it to him because it was his first word and I knew he'd idetify what they were. Well, six months later and having watched every other Pixar movie to date... he could not care any less about Cars. I don't know if he hates it, but he can only watch it for 2 minutes tops before he's off doing something else. Now, I pop on either Toy Story, Monsters, Ratsoup, Nemo, etc... he loves them all. He's even a big fan of Geri's Game (Pixar short). Actually, he likes all those shorts. But Cars, well, I guess he doesn't like it. Funny, a two year old knows what's cool from Pixar/Disney. He loves the toys... not the movie. In fact, he plays more with Hot Wheels and Matchbox than his Cars toys.
The kid's got good taste. He's just like dad. =)- ChairShot83, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4My best friend's two-year-old has this Toy Story kick like no other. It's constantly playing. Over. And over.. And over..
- Zipko, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1My younger brother went through that phase when the movie first came out. He'd watch it 3 times a day, sometimes without even taking a break to do something else. The movie would end and he'd just start it over.
- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -0/+9Had your kid noticed that Geri comes to fix up Woody in Toy Story 2?
- 8ight, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Ha, that's awesome. I don't think he has any idea... and neither did I. I just pulled both up and yep, they're the same. He seems to get around a lot better in Toy Story 2.
- Icerazer, on 04/09/2008, -0/+22Dugg for "Ratsoup".
- 8ight, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1It was easier to just type Ratsoup than have Google tell me "Did you mean..."
- TrevorBradley, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6So you're saying "Cars" is "The Phantom Menace" of the Pixar genre? Appealing to kids but not to adults who grew up loving it?
That sounds about right. - SpykerSpeed, on 04/09/2008, -9/+2I never thought I'd see someone bragging about their children on Digg. Time to find a new website, probably.
- iruber1337, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4What'd you expect while coming into a Disney thread?
- ChairShot83, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4My best friend's two-year-old has this Toy Story kick like no other. It's constantly playing. Over. And over.. And over..
- Spuy767, on 04/09/2008, -2/+13I get the sensation that Disney is taking a far too directory role in pixar as I doubt they would have EVER made a Toy Story 3 without serious prodding from disney who is content to make thirty sequels to everything.
- tduff, on 04/09/2008, -2/+13Actually, that's quite the opposite of the case. Lasseter has had an idea for second Toy Story sequel for quite some time now. Due to bad contracts with Disney they couldn't get the rights to their own characters back. Now that Pixar is owned by Disney, these aren't much of an issue.
Also, an important part of the Disney-Pixar deal was that Disney wouldn't ***** with anything about the way Pixar does it's business for a long time. - Slydevil01, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3I'll tell you the correct story. Disney began to get a sequel made against Pixar's wishes, and when Lasseter and friends saw some of the turdish results, they gave in. Re-wrote and started from scratch.
They never wanted to do it.

- jeremyduffy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+20Cars 1 was kind of a mistake too. I mean, Pixar is genius after all and it kind of grows on you, but it was really hard for me to like Cars considering it's the same exact story plot as Doc Hollywood.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doc_Hollywood- artofwot, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Just without that scene with the nude chick. Kind of would have changed Pixar's image.
- Myonosken, on 04/09/2008, -1/+14Cars 2: McQueen gets crushed for failing to pay his tax
- way2muchsense, on 04/09/2008, -6/+4Disney makes one decent film a year, before which they steal thirty minutes of your life flogging every other crappy film they plan to release in the next two years. My advice would ordinarily be to show up fifteen to twenty minutes late so you can skip the damn advertising, but even if you can get tickets in advance, you won't be able to get enough adjoining seats for you and your herd of young-uns unless you show up at least fifteen minutes early. I would wait a couple of weeks, or even better, wait for the DVD.
- cgrickard, on 04/09/2008, -0/+11That's why we won't see a sequel to Incredibles, Pixar doens't want to force a sequel Disney style. i know lots of you will disagree, but leave an awesome movie alone. not everything needs a sequel.
- jabelar, on 04/09/2008, -1/+0Maybe a prequel then?
Seriously though, movie making is in the end a business, and as long as there is a decent return on investement then they will and probably should do it. So for good or bad, you should expect most franchises to have at least one cinematic sequel and probably a straight-to-DVD film or two.
Vote with your pocketbook if you don't like this. - whoaohh, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2That's why there hasn't been any talk of a Nemo sequel.
- ender52, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Brad Bird said in an interview if he ever comes up with a plot worthy of an Incredibles sequel, then he'll make one.
- jabelar, on 04/09/2008, -1/+0Maybe a prequel then?
- LinuxAddict, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5Wait a second. You bitch because someone submitted this story "7 minutes earlier" and then you make a comment as if you didn't make your original bitching session comment? Bipolar.
- theneb29, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3I only reason i love Pixar is because they come up with new inventive ways to tell a story every time. With the sequels i am not too sure anymore....
- tdogg241, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3I want to know how they're going to make Cars 2 since there was never a sequel to Doc Hollywood.
- dden45, on 04/09/2008, -3/+3"THe mouse house is having a big influence on Pixar."
Seeing as Pixar pretty much took over Disney's animation department, this statement doesn't make much sense to me. - bobartig, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3PIxar actually does straight to video stuff for disney so that they maintain about 1 release per year. The big, new movies, like Wall•E and Ratatouille are like once every 3 years or "whenever its done".
- jayekub, on 04/09/2008, -1/+0Wrong, Pixar does zero straight to video stuff, for Disney or otherwise, and they've been releasing a full length feature movie every year since Finding Nemo (2003).
- Harbinger67, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1I read the article and was most excited for Cars 2.
Now you guys are turning my world upside down. I'll be in the corner...rocking back and forth and mumbling to myself. - UncleHenry, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Damn, the Mayans were right. The world will end in 2012. Cars 2 is proof.
- volacide, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1I liked Cars... I agree with everyone that it wasn't their best but I also think Toy Story 2 was pretty terrible in comparison to their others too.
- xptweakerntn, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Yes, Cars 2 will probably be delayed anyway. So as long as it doesn't come out before December of 2012, no one will even have the chance to watch it anyways.
- moush, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2So I guess Toy Story 2 was a money grabber? Well, it didn't stop it from being awesome.
- Elranzer, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2The only ones I'm remotely interested in are Up and Newt.
Rapunzel was supposed to be hand-drawn, but they've changed their mind and are doing it in CGI. Damn them. At least The Frog Princess is supposedly still going to be hand-drawn.
- smoothmedia, on 04/09/2008, -7/+121Here's hoping that "Newt" will be an animated feature film about the hilarious misadventures of Newt Gingrich
- SpectreFire, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Oh if only.
- timusca, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7Its about Issac Newton
- tdogg241, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1I don't know how they'd keep that family-friendly though.
- antdude, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1I like Cars even though I am not into automobiles. I enjoyed it more than Ratatouille.

- henrierose, on 04/09/2008, -3/+50i thought jobs hated sequels
- DesertSquirrel, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5I thought the same thing, but with four sequels for "Tinkerbell".....who knows.
- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4I can just heard Walt rolling in his grave for all these crappy sequels being put out for new movies and the classics that have been around for years (aka, Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, etc). If Walt wanted a sequel for his work, he would have made them before his passing.
- Protoss, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Can just heard?
- bjs3171, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1uh...what exactly did Steve Jobs have to do with Tinkerbell...?
- Shorties, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3Well steve is the largest shareholder in DIsney at 7% of the company. But I doubt he had much to do with it.

- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1Thats where they make up more money then Uncle Scrooge knows what to do with.
- swicklund, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Yeah, I could have sworn I read that his first act in joining Disney was to kill Toy Story 3! I appears Disney may have sucked all the creativity out of Pixar. :(
- Mearn, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3They killed Disney's Toy Story 3, then Pixar came up with a new story that didn't suck like Disneys.
- thepatster, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Well, see it's gotta come from John Lasseter
- Mearn, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3They killed Disney's Toy Story 3, then Pixar came up with a new story that didn't suck like Disneys.
- kiiwii, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10So did Walt Disney.
Unfortunately, his influence on the company isn't taken into consideration too much anymore :-(- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -0/+14Walt was not only a dreamer, but also believed in quality and not quantity. Unfortunately Disney does not see this anymore, and shuns Roy (Walts cousin) away from the whole Disney franchisee now.
The alternate time line shows that everything went a mess when Eisner came into power at Disney, wanted to just pump out crap and did not care about the quality. It was so bad, that Dreamworks decided to poke fun at it with Shrek during the "Eisner Days", thats who Lord Farquad is based on, Eisner himself.- brufleth, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10And how. Disney was the definitive "Go big or go home" guy. He'd use all the money he had available and then some in a project. That's how he did films and that's how he did Disneyland. I'm not really a huge fan of Disney but the guy was the sort of crazy genius that companies today rarely leave in charge.
Disney used to make movies that were classics. Now they make movies (and TV shows) just so they can sell the crap from the movies. I'm sure it is good business but their movies are getting pretty crappy.
- brufleth, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10And how. Disney was the definitive "Go big or go home" guy. He'd use all the money he had available and then some in a project. - nicejai, on 04/09/2008, -0/+10He hated sequels because Disney screwed him and Pixar when they did Toy Story 2.
Pixar at the time was under contract to produce X more movies for Disney, and once Pixar finished Toy Story 2, they were told that Toy Story 2 does not count to the final total because it was a sequel.
Because of that incident, once Pixar finished their X remaining movies, there was no way in hell they were going back to Disney because they exposed themselves as lying ***** who'll screw Pixar any chance they get. That's why Pixar was looking for another distributing partner and going to go at it alone.
This is also when Disney had no ideas on how to revitalize their brand. Their main characters are almost at the end of their copyright, and their numerous straight-to-dvd sequels of disney classics just reek of desperation. Knowing the box office power that Pixar has, and the merchandising potential of all Pixar movie characters, and the fact they screwed him on their previous contract... they had to suck Jobs' balls *real* hard to get him to consider another contract.
The end result is Jobs is now that largest single shareholder of Disney stock, and Lassiter is the head of all creative talent at Disney.... and now they all love sequels.- KMartSheriff, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Dugg for sucking balls *real* hard.
- Oogler, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5Woah there big fella! Ease on back. Disney maintained the rights to the characters created by Pixar under the original contract. i.e. Buzz, Woody and the whole gang were/are Disney characters. Following on the success of Toy Story which was an unmitigated hit, Disney asked Pixar to make a sequel. Pixar said no. Disney said we will be making a sequel with our characters whether you're involved or not. (Hey, it was their intellectual property whether that's an affront to your sense of fairness or not.) Pixar said, well we'd rather do it than let you do it so, okay. Disney said okay, but it won't count against the contracted total. (You can read into it what you want but I'm sure it was because Pixar said no in the first place.) While you may perceive it as dirty pool, the net result is that PIxar OPTED to do Toy Story 2 rather than let Disney do it and therefore it should not count against the original deal. They did it, made a *****-ton of money and the franchise was better for it. Disney... whether you like it or not... was right. I, for one, am glad Toy Story 2 was made, by Pixar; regardless of how it came about. It's a solid piece of entertainment.
- cgrickard, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1i'm sure this story is too old for anyone to read this comment, but here's what happened. the contract between disney and pixar was for X number of releases, like nice said, but they were for X number of THEATRICAL releases. Toy Story 2 was meant to go straight to DVD (as oogler said, pixar was given the ultimatum of we do it or you can do it). As it was created for DVD, and then Disney decided to throw it on the big screen after it was finished and tested REALLY well, it didn't count towards their contract. which, like easy said, is why they were pissed and swore off disney....til disney realized they needed 'em and dropped a ***** of money to buy 'em.
- psychotron, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4He might hate sequels, but I'm sure he loves money!

- rjinswand, on 04/09/2008, -4/+4I have a friend called Clint Pearson... that's pretty evil, plus there's a Peter Niskin who lives in my town, when the Lynn news printed his name it was as P. Niskin - but that's what you get for living in such an inbred area...

- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Interesting to see how well the rendering will be. Pixar seems to "upgrade" their engines on every Pixar movie.
But not holding my breath, Toy Story 2 was kind of week in some parts, but still ok. Very few movies have
kept the sequel as good as the first (aka : Back To The Future, Star Wars (the original trilogy), etc).- cvindustries, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Back to the Future Pt 2 and/or 3 was as good as the first but Toy Story 2 wasn't as good as the first Toy Story? I gotta disagree with ya there.
- astrotrain, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Interesting to see how well the rendering will be. Pixar seems to "upgrade" their engines on every Pixar movie.
- MemoryDump, on 04/09/2008, -14/+9oh no.. disney is making pixel make more sequels.. aren't they learning from the sequels they've made to past classics? stop milking on past successes and try to be original for once!
- Myonosken, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Toy Story 2 was good. That's the only sequel they've done and it was very good- not as good as the original, but how could it be?
- cvindustries, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Why is MemoryDump being dugg down? Pixar is the last bastion of creativity coming from Hollywood. Sequels are a bad sign. That's how Micheal Eisner ruined Disney animation (that, and exporting it all to Korea).
- buhby, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1"stop milking on past successes and try to be original for once!"
Can you be any more wrong?
Yes, I agree that Disney milk's their animations for money, but "being original for once" is wrong. We wouldn't have personified animals if it weren't for Disney... as far as originality goes, Disney was AND is the leader (now with Pixar). Just look at Dreamworks (the only competitor to Pixar), everything they do IS the same... talking animals and Shrek (which they are milking). But once again, without Disney, there would be no animals being personified in animation (take a look at Steamboat Willie).
As far as everyone else, I will bet anything that you know almost nothing about Pixar and the whole Animation scene. - cubicledrone, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA Pixar = owned. Thanks.
- callanpalooza, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1i think given pixar's power within the realm of disney and disney animation any decision to make a sequel comes directly from lasseter first and foremost and not from anyone else within disney. granted im not a huge fan of a cars sequel, disney is definitely not forcing pixar to do it. and toy story 3 has been in production for a while now so that ones not really a suprise.
- 42Vindictive, on 04/09/2008, -4/+16I would prefer no sequels at all. Pixar/Disney has a bad habit of taking old regular animation classics and them bad sequels in 3D. Just because its new doesn't make it good.
- joshuabowers, on 04/09/2008, -2/+4I personally wouldn't mind an Incredibles sequel.
- jayekub, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Pixar has never remade an old film. All films are developed completely in house. And so far, Pixar has made only one sequel (Toy Story 2), and regardless of what you think of it, it was quite well received.
- Dralite, on 04/09/2008, -1/+71Monsters Inc. 2? They even ended the movie like there would be one... that always got on my nerves and it seems like they will never have it...

- Protoss, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2That is one Pixar movie that I thoroughly enjoy. I'd like to see a sequel. That movie had some great wit.
- cgrickard, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1i think that the pre-disney/pixar merger titles will be saved from sequels unless pixar really WANTS to do it. post merger is probably all disney's call...but who knows, that's just my opinion.
- tdogg241, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4I think a sequel would only tarnish what was a perfect ending, IMO.
A perfect example is Futurama, the ending to the episode with Seymour was sorta ruined for me when they put out the first movie and revealed that Seymour did actually lead a full life. Now when I watch the episode, it doesn't have the impact that it once did. I fear the same would happen if they made a Monsters Inc. sequel. - PyroChan, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1my favorite Pixar movie, second only to Bug's life.

incredibles = not so much - cubicledrone, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Well, see, according to Disney, 2D animation doesn't make money. According to the 400 animation studios in Japan, 2D is just fine, but they're Disney, after all, and what do the Japanese know about animation, right?
- acetv, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1I don't know... it may be a result of a small sample size but it seems to me the majority of anime tv shows have really bad animation in general.
- ishotthedoor, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1"Up" by Pixar is going to be 2D animation. It's going to be similar to the short "My Friend the Rat" on the "Ratatouille" DVD. Should be interesting to see what Pixar can do with 2D, though I also read that it will be released in 3D, which seems to defeat the purpose to me.

- serif69, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1John Lasseter is dead-set on bringing back traditional cell animation now that he has a say in Disney's animation department. He's even bringing back animated shorts for theatrical release.
- Scheissen, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1It's easier for them to animate inanimate objects like toys and cars than to do all the rigging that is required for humans. Disney can also count on movie merchandise of toys and cars for the youth. The Incredibles has a target audience above Disneys usual age. Plus, they already have a large chuck of the models made so it saves on time. I for one, am not inquiring on seeing Cars 2.

- Austin7687, on 04/09/2008, -0/+28Wow, Toy Story 3. I've heard for so long that Tom Hanks has been resistant to doing another sequel.
Also, nothing from Brad Bird? The Incredibles and Ratatoullie were some of the best, most memorable Disney films of recent years.- serif69, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I have a hunch that John Lasseter is assigning Brad Bird to non-Pixar project in Disney animation. Disney needs something like "The Iron Giant" to bring back their own animation department, and who better than the writer/director of "The Iron Giant" to do it?
- tdogg241, on 04/09/2008, -0/+6Know why they were so great? Because Pixar made them, not Disney. Disney has long-forgotten how to make a great animated film and has resorted to rehashing and bastardizing once-classic franchises to keep the cash coming in.

- izzyb412, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Brad Bird is doing a live action movie
http://imdb.com/title/tt0832278/- Austin7687, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Awesome, I'm glad he's doing other stuff. He was a great director for The Simpsons.
- tiberone, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Maybe Hanks won't be in it.
Crazy, I know, but they did an Aladdin without Robin Williams.
- jerrycan, on 04/09/2008, -1/+8I liked Incredibles. That puppy is ripe for a sequel too. WTF?
- aaron117, on 04/09/2008, -4/+2The animated movies are getting a bit like EA!
Im sick of them. They are *****! Toy Story was brill. So was the second one. And then a pile of ***** started appearing from different studios. - hixxy, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1Whoa! I thought that was R.O.B. there for a second.
My dreams'll never come true. ): - Hosalabad, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1And Jobs said no more sequels....Too bad for us.
- skektek, on 04/09/2008, -2/+9"Cars 2"?
"Toy Story 3"?
*****! - Disney has corrupted Pixar into being a sequel factory. I knew this would happen when Disney bought Pixar. Pixar said it wouldn't happen but I guess they underestimated corporate greed.- kenthorvath, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Sequels to CGI films are ridiculously cheap to produce compared to their more original predecessors. All the modelling work has been essentially completed, leaving the biggest burden on voice-acting and script-writing. Computers make it really easy to recycle things. It's a blessing and a curse.
- cubicledrone, on 04/09/2008, -2/+0Yeah, and it's really important to make sure PIXAR movies are made cheaply because well, it's real tough to predict how well they will do at the box office, amirite? Or maybe it is just about greed.
Yeah, I'll go with "about greed."

- jocknerd, on 04/09/2008, -1/+42Cars 2? Wonderful. I thought it was their worst film. I want a sequel to The Incredibles.
- grantmoore3d, on 04/13/2008, -0/+1No, no sequels... ever
- Steeple, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7loved the toy stories, monsters inc and especially the incredibles, but cars was just an abstraction too far. i know it's a kids movie, but it just didn't make any sense.
still, it takes a stinker like chicken little to make you appreciate pixar's writing team - slinky317, on 04/09/2008, -5/+8Stop using the word "Breaking" on stuff like this. Seriously.
- cgrickard, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1OR just read the word after 'breaking' and see if you're still interested.
- dslartoo, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Oh ye of little faith. Trust the Pixar people to do the films only if they're done right. As long as Lasseter / Docter / Stanton / Bird are in charge of writing and directing for Pixar, I'm not worried.
- Oogler, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1All four gentlemen are settled in nicely and a happy part of the Disney machine. In one way or another its their heritage anyway. Once Eisner left the big melt was on and things are much, much better for everyone - not the least of which is the moving going public. Disney has chosen to maintain the Pixar brand because it has strong marketplace recognition.
What I'm waiting to see is the proper resurrection of the 2D art form. Pixar is all well and good but Lasseter is a junkie for the old school stuff too. Watch for releases from the newly re-branded Walt Disney Animation Studios as well. (Also championed by Lasseter et al)

- Arcae, on 04/09/2008, -0/+14Who else is excited for 4 Tinkerbell movies?
- petebert, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7BREAKING!!! wonder if theres a fox news alert on this story right now
- KrazyIan, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2I loved Cars, but Cars 2 just reeks of money grab. Pixar has fought for years to keep making original movies (only one sequel, Toy Story 2).
- qq123, on 04/09/2008, -5/+0Yay for Toy Story 3!
- ScoobyG, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1More importantly, WHERE IS BRAD BIRD?
