- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29Japan's robotics vision and work is INCREDIBLE! Little Red was kickin' ass and taking names - great!
My laughter and enjoyment aside, this is going to be a huge entertainment venue in the years to come. Nice evolution over Robot Wars.
A new version of Gladiators for modern times... - lava, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17that video is cool, too bad it's not with AI though.
- Skyfire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Rock em sock em robots have evolved.
- Moose_Head, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12When robots become intelligent and see what we did to their ancestors they will not be happy.
- JudgeDredd, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19"Awesome video of (Japanese) robots wrestling!" Yeah, pretty sure that was in Japan.
- spiderworm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9SWEET!
Now you just have to make them 30 stories tall and put them in downtown Tokyo!
:) - MiamiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Wow I'm really amazed at the fluid movement of the red robot...well somewhat fluid. That is really incredible. Robots have really evolved. The other one is just a punching bag really.
- swifty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8batteries? i think you mean energon!
- splitstream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6How can both of you fail to see the guy in the background with the remote control? On top of that, he even reacts to the takedown when he leaned back on the black robot. Individual robot parts can be scripted like the "get-up" sequence, but AI or "scripted code" as you say, can not make on-the-fly decisions like that yet.
- Nighthawke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Omni Zero 2 has such great agility that it's a jaw dropper watching him perform takedown moves on his opponents, recovering from them (pulling judo and akido moves not seen outside a dojo or the movies), then dancing around his oppponents ready for another go at it.
- hadem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Some more clips:
http://robogames.net/videos.php - cohagen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Maybe I'm stupid, but why is it that Asimo takes so long and so much computing to walk and move? Is it simply because he walks himself, and isn't controlled? I didn't realize remotly controlled robotics had come so far. I like the macros, too.
- Illuminatus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Send the little red one to Iraq. 2 weeks and it'll be all over.
- ThisGeek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Is it just me or does the fact that they are remote controlled as opposed to truly self controlled make it slightly less cool.
Still though, that little red guy has some moves.
Great digg. - thatautguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7only a couple more years until Ultimate Robot Fighting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raging_Bender
- daRoach, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7level 1: programming perspective (which in itself has different levels, I'm amazed and impressed the movement and actions of the robot were a lot more impressive than the running Asimo, even though the scale is much smaller)
level 2: entertainment perspective (different levels here too, humor, competition etc...)
So at a glance I see two levels, maybe if I spent more time I could find more, but I've already wasted enough time writing this. Hope this helps. - ACalcutt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7"and look whos picking up the trash...is it a human child" - Bender
- RamMasterRay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5 Please elaborate for the shallower among us like me. I only appreciated the single level of awesome that was the fighting robots. And I am jealous of people who see cool stuff on more level than one.
- JAFFA, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Worth a DiGG on many different levels! Nice find!
- bsoric, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I bet it's staged though
- piratemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you like the video visit

for more (English) coverage of Robo-One 2006. - ReinMasamuri, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Lol, they had the same robots on Bones S01E08 around 02:44
- spazzymike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The movement combinations were awesome, remote controlled or not.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That little red guy is a major crowd pleaser, I think he'll really go places.
This made me really look forward to the future where we can have human-like robits in an arena fighting to the death! I hope I live long enough to see that.. the return of the roman gladiator glory, with robits! - jakeblat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4WOW Where can I buy some of these? They're amazing!
I'll make an army of them to scare the neighbers cat - Alaerus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4**BUT** -- does it run Linux?
- Genghis1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2At the end I thought the big black robot was going to grab a miniature chair and hit the little red guy from behind.
- Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol. The black robot was owned!
- pd69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1those robots would get owned by the robot/car from the citreon c4 advert
- williamkusumo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh, this is so much better (and more intelligent) than that stupid robot wars show they have in the states where violence/destruction is the main attraction.
Kudos and Ganbade! - Pentarix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4He totally went Ali on the other bots, dancing all around them.
- sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3if they weren't remote controlled this would be amazing stuff. But they were.
- kokobaroko, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5the red obne got me speechless
where are his batteries?? - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Red seems to own black one. ;)
- kartoqraf, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1RWF rocks!
- dlaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But are they autonomous?
- Nightkidz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very cool indeed....nicely done 1!!
- nightspd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=2-1/qid=1144030907/ref=sr_2_1/601-6425783-3753715?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B000EW7QUG
If I only had the money!!! :D:D - supaklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1sweet
- awhileago, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1FIGHTING ROBOTS....AWESOME!! its like Voltron but REAL! the lil red guy is the shiiioooot!!
- FelixdaaHack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yours for only $1000 (or $1,300 assembled)

Can't wait to see Neon Genesis style EVA's running around battling each other in 20 years - jeremyngu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1imagine this robot fighting could be a sport of the future
- Petrarch1603, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would like to add a level: competition creates practical engineering skills. The rear-view mirror in every car started with a rear-view mirror in the early years of the Indianapolis 500. Robot fighting is interesting because of the skill and precision it takes to succeed against an opponent.
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now these guys http://neogentronyx.com/ need to make their mech that agile
- ZephyrWest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That red one was pwning all the other robots. Awesome...
- yuriko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YES!!! Awesome! I want one (or ten) too! Wonder how many other uses one could have for a little army of robots in the house? Flying to Tokyo to buy some!
- NiLeS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! I hit digg down instead of up on daroach..how do I fix it???
(where's the "undigg" button when you need it?) - kevinarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm with you. That was awesome!
- acorn22, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5@ dredd
The robots are Japanese. Doesn't mean they are actualy IN Japan in this clip. - kevinarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:) Good thought. :)
