- VengefulSquid, on 09/09/2009, -4/+35Why do people still CONSIDER putting him in movies?
- schudog3, on 09/09/2009, -0/+21Well, it's no wonder after his experience with bees on the set of The Wicker Man that he's not into Hornets.
- Sornos, on 09/09/2009, -0/+17He was good in Lord of War, Matchstick Men, and Raising Arizona.
Lightning could strike again. Maybe. - inactive, on 09/09/2009, -4/+18He dropped out? It must have required some level of acting.
- AZRoboto, on 09/09/2009, -2/+12Looks like I just may go see this movie now.
- knute5, on 09/09/2009, -1/+8Well then the only logical replacement: Stephen Colbert.
- dinuguan, on 09/09/2009, -2/+9Must be a blessing from the ghost of Bruce Lee.
- steveoco, on 09/09/2009, -2/+8"NOOOOOO! NOT THE HORNETS!!!!!" - Nic Cage
- SirBruce, on 09/09/2009, -8/+13Peggy Sue Got Married, Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, Guarding Tess, Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off, Matchstick Men, National Treasure 1 and 2, Grindhouse... all were good. Even Next and Ghost Rider weren't terrible.
- snapcase, on 09/09/2009, -0/+4He's definitely had his moments... but there's just been so many bad ones that kinda overshadow the good.
- benroy, on 09/09/2009, -1/+5I'm tired of Nick Cage trying to play tough-guy characters. He's a pussy, he's a whiny little bitch and needs to choose his roles accordingly. Raising Arizona, 8mm, Matchstick Men... good movies, I liked him in those because he wasn't trying to be something he's not.
You don't see Jaleel White playing Bruce Willis' roles.
As a matter of fact, you never see Jaleel White do anything. And that's the way it should be, dammit. - timothycrash01, on 09/09/2009, -1/+4Perhaps it's because he's the lead in Werner Herzog's upcoming "Bad Lieutenant 2" film - which has him doing meth, crack, coke, screwing whores, murdering people and basically everything else:
http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/bad-lieutenan ... - AZRoboto, on 09/09/2009, -1/+4FTA: "Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Jay Chou topline the movie, which brings the classic crime-fighting hero to the big-screen."
Seth Rogan's already in the movie... - brownspank, on 09/09/2009, -1/+4Hey, here's a thought: MATTER OF OPINION.
- josephbloseph, on 09/09/2009, -0/+3I totally believed him as Fu Manchu in Werewolf Women of the SS
- Cainxinth, on 09/09/2009, -0/+3Don't forget Adaptation and Leaving Las Vegas. He was amazing in both of those. He may phone it in a lot, but when he's on Nic Cage can be a great actor.
- FluentinSarcasm, on 09/09/2009, -0/+3Nicholas Cage was an amazing actor once upon a time as referenced by the last couple posts. However, recently it seems that he has been taking every acting job thrown his way and he has suffered accordingly. He just needs to step back for a year or two and re-evaluate himself.
- stinklez, on 09/09/2009, -2/+5Nicolas Cage has a rocky filmography. It's probably best he left the movie and reduced the risk of it being utter *****.
- senseilmno, on 09/09/2009, -1/+3i'll do it! in fact i'll do it for half of what the cagester was going to get
- inactive, on 09/09/2009, -2/+4And nothing of value was lost
- smacksaw, on 09/09/2009, -0/+2So embarrassing...Werner Herzog...and Cage?
No wonder Abel Ferrara is pissed. - Lst01, on 09/10/2009, -0/+2I've posted that link on threads before too. It's an amazing take on The Green Hornet but unfortunately we're not going to get anything like it.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 09/09/2009, -0/+2Lord of War. That movie alone is enough justification for his recent crapfest of Ghost Rider, Knowing (which itself wasn't bad, he just was) and Next and how poor he was in the two National Treasures. If he can put out a Lord of War caliber film every 5-6 films, I am completely fine with him doing crappy movies left and right. And he does do that. Lord of War, Matchstick Men, The Rock.
A lot of people really liked Face/Off (I did not) and Con Air is a classic and is always associated with him when it was really the brilliant as always performances from John Malkovic and Steve Buscemi that made that movie so good. Of course, the same can be said about the National Treasure movies. He was in the spotlight but the real acting was taking place next to him; Sean Bean and Ed Harris (and to a point Diane Kruger who is really underrated as well as Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel) saved those films. - thectrain, on 09/09/2009, -1/+3Con Air and Face/Off were bad but watchable.
Saying Ghost Rider [wasn't] terrible is a lie. That movie was in fact terrible. - TyrannyofBell, on 09/09/2009, -0/+2He has no range as an actor. He essentially does two characters... neurotic guy or calm and tough introvert. I find him about as exiting to watch as paint drying.
- smacksaw, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QqgIzlmdBc
- CaptCourt, on 09/09/2009, -2/+3Hey with Nic gone, this might actually be a good movie.
- smacksaw, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1This is all you need to heal your Cage-induced Wicker Man injuries:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_mW8mBzmHo - MrZaiko, on 09/09/2009, -1/+2Who will be KATO?
- SolituSneiku, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1Nic Cage as a bad guy is just bad
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1Someone on /Film pointed out that he spends every penny he makes (which I have heard more than once in the past) and that he takes just about any job which comes his way. Not sure why he dropped out of Green Hornet though. Maybe he wasn't up for playing a villain?
- WhoRadley, on 09/09/2009, -3/+4HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- WhiskeyThieves, on 09/09/2009, -3/+4Now if he can only drop out of acting completely.
- center311, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1some ***** taiwan dood. Stephen Chow is out.
- palehorse864, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1How'd it get burned, the musical
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tn1dEhfMTk
from Wickerman. - smacksaw, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1I'll do it. If they'll hire him, they'll hire anyone.
- chadillak, on 09/09/2009, -2/+3WTF is the green hornet?
- cuervoman914, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1its petition time
- 4degrees, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1dont forget "bangkok dangerous"
- TyrannyofBell, on 09/09/2009, -2/+3Yeah, I'm sorry... but your definition of good is questionable at best. Not all of the movies are good... and more so, some of the movies you listed that are good were not good because of Nicholas Cage.
- Phi01, on 09/09/2009, -2/+3No way am i going to watch this movie, there is an Independent Green Hornet movie out already, that is utterly amazing.
Watch this and tell me you think Hollywood can do better, i think not.
http://www.reservoirfilms.com/thegreenhornet.htm
I doubt that Hollywood can do better than this. And i will be ashamed if the crap that Hollywood produce becomes a #1, people should just not stand for this ***** that Hollywood are putting out there.
Here's the youtube link aswell:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rjm53J1G4M - LilJimmyNordin, on 09/09/2009, -1/+2I'll do it.
- Yage2006, on 09/10/2009, -0/+1I might be alone but I thought he was good in Face Off.
Actually its one of the only films I liked him in. - TyrannyofBell, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1yeah, I really don't get herzog as of late. After all the film's he's directed... this is the movie he's making?
***** everything. - BobbyMC, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1I thought Jaleel White killing people on screen was God's plan all along?
- AmazingSteve, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1http://media.photobucket.com/image/my%20hair%20is% ...
- ProfessorRiffs, on 09/09/2009, -0/+1www.imdb.com/name/nm0005073/
- zip000, on 09/09/2009, -1/+2You are definitely wrong about Con Air and Face/Off - those were horrible movies!
- Torturor, on 09/10/2009, -0/+1Yeah like he's ever gonna visit your kitchen psychobitch
