" letting players crash into American buildings, and ESRB rated this E?? " - acr2001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30Unbelievable... our government is clueless
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -10/+38man you told him bleepzortblop....
nice use of logic also. - nayrX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28Anybody find it ironic, wait, make that blatantly hypocritical that the government is making negative statements about video games which they claim are targeting youth, getting them "emotionally invested" and providing them with combat training which could be used against coalition forces, when in fact the governmnet itself has poured many resources into the development of "America's Army", a game whose stated purpose incompasses everything congress is worried about, the only difference being that... uh... wait, what is the difference?
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22LOL fraps... what production quality.

- phpirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They think games are marketed to kids and terrorists. Actually, true fact: many of them believe that "hot coffee" is a cheat code you put into GTA:SA to access pornographic minigames and that the developers meant to have people find it. Better yet, they think its an ongoing issue when rockstar patched it ages ago.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14It is my belief that Congress doesn't actually care about violent video games, they are only discussing it because it is a wedge issue. It doesn't really matter, because it has never been proven that violent video games and actual violence are related. So instead of fixing the real problem, you know, helping the economy so there are less poor people, less ghettos, less crime -- they blame crime on video games. The issue gets the Country polarized, and it's easy. They get stiffer laws regarding video games, and it appears like they have actually done something, when in reality they have just ignored the real issue, and ignored their own stupidity.
As long as they don't get impeached, they get paid. As as long as they waste time on the wedge issues, they can create an illusion that they actually care, and the illusion that they created laws to protect us. When in reality, our government over-taxes the poor, decreases funding for education -- which makes more unemployed, uneducated, poor people. This increases the violent crime rate, not video games. - bemenaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11These idiots are watching a prerecorded clip and claiming it is being modded. There are not mods for BF2.
Why is this moron an elected official. He obviously doesn't know ***** from shinola - cdwhatcott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Damn! Let's just hope they don't get their hands on Nintendogs... just imagine what they could learn about training attack dogs!
- Robertsk8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Lol I know, The Hot Coffee mod actually takes some knowledge of computers to activate. And by the way, if there so scared of sexual content, the parents should have not allowed the game in the first palce./
- Subtonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I was thinking that, too.
http://www.americasarmy.com/ - merm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Who cares if they are even modding the game anyway (which they are not)? Don't we believe in Free Speech people? Oh yeah, we just believe in OUR OWN Free Speech, and if anyone else, from anywhere else speaks against us, or acts against us then we blow their asses up.
If terrorists were making video games I'd bet that they'd use the same argument that EVERY SINGLE US GAMER USES whenever moronic lawmakers and politicians start saying "video games make people violent", and respond by saying, "no, video games don't make us kill people".
No, world of warcraft is not training you to be an animal killer, and BF2 is not training you to kill terrorists - and FYI, it's not training terrorists to kill you. Give me a break. Can we please be a bit more consistent here? - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I hear the terrorists are communicating using a method known as "writing"
Unlike some of you traitor scum, I'm willing to lay down this luxury in the interest of national security... - lupinglade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Oy... these morons. Can we download a new congress?
- projektmayhem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8how ridiculous does america look right now? very.
when bf2142 comes along and people go about making little movies about terrorists (using mec skins from bf2, naturally) invading america in the future, the government will see this as a prophecy at this rate.
my god america, get a grip. - Robertsk8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I actually know the guy, well through the forums, that made the tape, he was surprised but then again not surprised with abc news came to his door.
- chevy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Those who can, do, those who can't, consult.
No one who has a clue and has worked in the technology field will be surprised that these consultants are clueless twits. The fact that their message matched what congress wanted to hear (i.e. "omg teh intraweb is being used for evul") means they don't have to bother doing anything to earn that $7 million. - graemee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7HAH,
What would they learn,
1 Bunny hopping = Yes you can avoid bullets by jumping up & down
2 Claywhoring flag poles
3 Teamkilling
4 Point farming - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Didnt the army invent training via vdeo game?
so they are just taking a page out of our book?
are we sure they arent playing the insurgents in american army?
lame fear mongering - disrupter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7lol usa
- thejadedmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6What did he say?
- thejadedmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow our government is stupid.
- dacheetah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Someone should link Military Intelligence to "Red vs Blue" and see what terrorist threats they can read into that.
- kraice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"I motion for a law which states that: If a congressman/woman uses ***** "facts", then they'll be forced to sit down and shut up."
No there should be a booming voice come over the PA saying "WRONG!" & their chair explodes... - EVILKILLER, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's not a bribe it's a contribution. :-)
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5We really elected some out-of-touch morons, didn't we? I was watching C-SPAN the other day, when the Congress was dicussing video games, and they were saying "playing violent video games increases teen violence". What a bunch of *****.
I motion for a law which states that: If a congressman/woman uses ***** "facts", then they'll be forced to sit down and shut up. - Territan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Downloading a new congress would mean overwriting the one we have now.
I didn't want to do that, at first. I really don't look forward to tuning the performance of a whole new install. But then I realized the one we have now has serious incompatibility issues with the COMMON_SENSE patch... - vincenzo7, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10http://www.digg.com/gaming/The_Government_Sells_Machinima_As_Terrorist_Propaganda
- Double-Z, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5What next? Congress will demand to view all the BF2 server logs to see who plays as an "insurgent" a little too often?
- MolenXs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is just another example of how the government is trying to inflate the threat from terrorists.
Watch the BBC documentary "The Power of Nightmares" and you will understand why. - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Are idiots using congress against us? I think so.
- deepscene, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What are they worried about? The terrorists can't even afford to register their Digital Media Converter!
- Alegis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What's next in this epic adventure of blaming violence on games ?
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well if the terrorists are learning from Battlefield 2, atleast the US army will have an easy job defeating them.. Bunnyhopping terrorists?
- Ben - Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah wtf, do they not know they produce AA soley for the purpose to recruit kids into the army? This is so freakin dumb we do the same exact thing.
And I doubt firing a gun in a video game online is enough training for a soldier. - marix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4you know that guy is taking home over 50k a year and manages to have no idea what he's tlaking about. These are the people that are worried about our generation messing things up. Problem is, They alread did the job for us.
- spykerchester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5errr Americas army anyone, that is directly part of there recruitment programme
- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Sweet, the new expansion!
Battlefield 2: Jihadest Recruiting Tool - jool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't even think it is funny. If they are this far from the mark on something that is this simple to research you have to wonder how bad they are at subjects that aren't ready to be googled and actually require some effort.
And calling it an American game is just insulting, it was published by EA but was made by Dice. With this and the piracy I'm just waiting for the day when Sweden is declared a terrorist state. - Poolshark19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3what they are saying is you can be opposing forces to fight americans. i dont know but i dont think you can be middle easterns in americas army. i saw this video a couple of days ago and laughed to myself to how critical they are of a game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Personally, I'd be more worried if terrorists started using this BF2 video to train their pilots:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6012537971727805916&q=snoken
Also, check out Mine and Mine2 videos by the same guys. Good stuff there. - Poolshark19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3dont forget the dolphin diving terrorists
- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and yet they read some garbage reports based on little more then clouds and fairy dust and tell us what we can and can't do based on their wisdom and knowledge
I would say this is a very worrying predicament - Seidoger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They should give them Super Mario Sunshine.
Then they would attack the United States with WATER.
*FEAR*
;-) - affinity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And these congressman are the ones deciding the future fate and direction of the internet?
- complos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If the video game makers bribed congress like other major companies, we wouldn't hear anything but positives about video games coming from them.
- silenceHR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3define enemy.
- Cyberdactyl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3HAHAHAHA! ! !
Next they'll have Congressional Committees investigating the terrorist use of the SIMS game and how they learn the idiosyncrasies of the American public to defeat us! - spotty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-409057033349108310&q=snoken+mine+1
