    My first issue is that if someone were giving out "Free {disease_name}," then the "Free > *" equation would not hold, except for those people who prefer receiving diseases which, for the sake of this proof, we can statistically ignore.

    The second issue, let's say "Free magazines" were being given away. In this case, the equation would be "Free magazines > *," but Free magazines is an element in the set *, so I would suggest rewording your equation as "Free >= *" or "Free X > * - {X}."

    I'd explain further, but I must go now and call my friends to tell them that being home on a Saturday night reading Digg is far more fun than going out.

So time consuming not really, and as for pointless -- they are attempting to sell it for $14 and with the audience from digg they will probably get at least one sale.
