- Bauer22, on 12/31/2008, -1/+91Wait, AOL is still around?
- War3Zone, on 12/30/2008, -4/+58I actually don't agree with some, I had fun watching pineapple express and couple more
- Hetman, on 12/30/2008, -3/+35I am sorry Pinapple express is a must see. I liked speed racer. But I understand why people would not. It had bad dialouge. But I did not go see the movie expecting good dialogue.
- d1ckinabox, on 12/31/2008, -2/+34And after the success of his 2007 comedies - 'Kocked Up' and 'Superbad'
Kocked Up?
lol anyone else catch that? - Intrinsic19, on 12/30/2008, -4/+29Apparently Pineapple Express was over their heads; I didn't think that was possible...
I guess it only makes sense that it's the same people who seem like they actually thought the third Mummy would be good. - HeDiggMe, on 12/30/2008, -6/+31wow I already forgot Hancock and Speed Racer were this year
- eternal, on 12/30/2008, -4/+28I loved Speed Racer, too bad it bombed...
- donut726, on 12/31/2008, -3/+19Iron Man was a pretty good movie too.....
- michaelrsa, on 12/31/2008, -8/+22What about WALL-E? That was an excellent movie, the best of the year in my opinion.
- logpony, on 12/31/2008, -2/+16Pineapple Express was fantastic.
"What’s down there, a ***** Rancor?" - Shogi, on 12/31/2008, -3/+16You're both communists.
- alexra, on 12/31/2008, -2/+15buried, Pineapple express was hillarious, few laughs, give me a ***** break, this movie had tons of laughs from all the actors in this movie, even the people with small roles were funny, and I wasn't high when I watched this movie, I have smoked pot, but when I heard this movie was only funny when watched high kind of sounded insulting, because everything is funny when your high.
- Heidenreich12, on 12/31/2008, -1/+13this is a terrible list.
- DivisibleByZero, on 12/31/2008, -1/+11I don't do drugs, but I loved Pineapple Express. It was like Cheech and Chong came back from the dead or something.
- W00DR0W, on 12/31/2008, -3/+13What was wrong with Speed Racer? Were you expecting the Dark Knight version or something?
It's a cheesy cartoon, and so was the movie but the race scenes were great; where did it fail? - prince87x, on 12/31/2008, -0/+9For all the bad reviews it had, my friends and I thought it was pretty good. Not the greatest movie by all means, but it is still worth a watch if you're a fan of sci-fi films.
- seefresh, on 12/31/2008, -2/+11I really enjoyed Pineapple Express. Maybe because I'm a slightly chunky, devil haired dude who likes to smoke a little weed like Seth Rogan.
- deutsch715, on 12/31/2008, -8/+17Buried for mentioning Pineapple Express and Quantum of Solace in the same list with ***** piles like Speed Racer.
- blinker265, on 12/31/2008, -1/+10"They're just taking Indiana Jones and they're raping him!"
- rstarr, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8Watch it kid, that man is a national treasure...
- regeya, on 12/31/2008, -3/+10Meh. I saw loads of people who hated Indiana Jones who, just like people who hated the Star Wars prequels, were viewing the old ones through rose-colored glasses. Admit it, it was a fun flick, which made it better than Temple of Doom by a long shot (especially since it has very little screaming!) It even had some of the humor which made the Last Crusade so great.
All I'm saying is that if you went into Indiana Jones expecting gritty realism, you were...misinformed. :-> I thought the refrigerator gag was one of the funniest of the series. - toxicityj, on 12/31/2008, -2/+9half of it was great.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7Kocked Up?? Good job there AOL with the typos...
- lovek, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7I'm not a stoner, and laughed all the way through.
- Ultraviolet98, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7It was a ***** awesome movie. I guess that's because I'm a speed racer fan though. The Wachowski brothers really kept it true to the original.
- thegamingguy, on 12/30/2008, -4/+11I liked half of the films on that list, 2 I didn't see, and 2 I didn't like.
- THETEH, on 12/31/2008, -5/+12I actually thought Quantum of Solace was really good. I don't see what problem people had with it. A confusing plot? Since when have Bond plots made sense?
I'm glad the Indiana Jones movie was on there though. That movie was such a let-down. - W00DR0W, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6I think it's just a case of people thinking what they're told to think. The E! network probably commented about how the studio wasted all this money on a flop and everyone took it to mean the movie sucked.
- danwallace, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6Who said anything about dating?
- darkchild82, on 12/30/2008, -2/+8Yeah, I disagree with people who said it was a terrible movie. It wasn't. It just wasn't a great movie. For those who never watched the campy anime series, chances are you probably thought it was a film adaptation of Hanna Barbara's Wacky Races.
Edit: Yeah, and the bubblegum colour palette didn't help either. - BrandonJM, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6But ... there's still room for "The Spirit" ...right?
- archer75, on 12/31/2008, -2/+8I enjoyed Iron Man too. Certainly more than The Hulk.
- s0nicfreak, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6I don't know what they're talking about; it is both a family film and a modern take to appease fans of the original anime. I'm a speed racer fan and was surprised at how well it stuck to the story.
The Dragonball movie will probably do well and then movie makers will keep raping anime to make movies instead of sticking to the original stories :( - oxymoron69, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7It's because he's a scientologist now....
- W00DR0W, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7Are you saying Wachowski Brothers suck? Cause I thought V for Vendetta and the Matrix were good movies.
(Yes the next two weren't as good but the story had ended in the first movie so I didn't expect the sequels to match up)
And who cares how much it costs, why feel sorry for Warner Bros.' bad investment? - truebeliever83, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5Why does everyone rag on Indy for having aliens?? Its waaay more plausible than any god related BS.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5Is The Day The Earth Stood Still any good?
- david4041, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6Quantum of Solace was okay, but was a disappointment after Casino Royale. I just expected more.
- betona, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5Me too. There were so many things that were dead-on accurate to the cartoon that most people wouldn't catch. Bonus: my college-age daughter loves it.
And no, you can't date my daughter. - bjs3171, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6Totally agree. Yes, the alien ending was a little weird for an Indy movie, but the rest of the movie i thought was a solid Indy flick. I also questioned the frig scene, but really, how is that any different than jumping out of a plane on a ***** raft? Indiana Jones is a pulp adventure flick, and that's exactly what the new one was. I was smiling pretty much the whole time. Also, Shai was fine.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -6/+11This list could have been twice as long. With the exception of Dark Knight, this year kind of suck for big blockbuster movies.
- An1malCrackers, on 12/31/2008, -4/+9I thought pineapple express was great.
And since when was speed racer a blockbuster to begin with? - pentupentropy, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7I guess I'm glad I only saw one of them.
- bagboyrebel, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6Right, because it was perfectly realistic for him to save himself, a woman, and a child from a falling plane using a life raft (Temple of Doom).
- danwallace, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5I was wondering this myself after reading a slew of negative comments about speedracer in another thread here yesterday. What exactly was so bad about it?
- vpshockwave, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Dude... you puked on my printer...
- Ultraviolet98, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Don't forget surviving was spelled "surving" in the Indiana Jones article too.
- lovek, on 12/31/2008, -2/+6Dugg you. Whether I agree with you or not (btw, I DO agree with you), I don't think you should be buried for stating your opinion while simultaneously NOT being a douche about it. That's rare on Digg anyway.
On the other hand, I didn't think Indiana Jones was anywhere near the abomination it's claimed to be, so I'll probably get buried too. (Oh no! Indy survived a nuclear blast in a fridge! Oh No! There are aliens! That's so much more unrealistic than the other things he's been through! I'm sorry, but I saw someone take out people's hearts by magic as they lived to scream about it.. I saw spirits fly out of the Ark and melt faces. I saw a 2000 year old knight and an invisible bridge. So spare me.) - prince87x, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4I think it is all a matter of opinion. Not everyone is going to like every movie. I personally liked Handcock and Quantum of Solace. It's not possible to have a top list of disappointing movies that everyone can agree on.
