- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+55Whoah whoah whoah, stop the ***** bus. *A.I.*? I think you got some worst movies ever mixes in with your best ever.
- michaelczhang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32What about the geeks that do suck?
- vuke69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31That movie is awesome.
- Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28get them Howard the Duck and Battlefield Earth.
Alternatively, you can just ***** in a bag and give them that instead.
Merry Christmas! - AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Does anyone else feel like this list was poorly thrown together? I mean wtf.. there's Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report which is directly followed by a double 2 pack set of AI and Minority Report.
There is also Spiderman 1 and 2 and then the spiderman 1 & 2 together in a 2 disc set.
Sure there are some good movies on this list, but come on. - Hella, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26 Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail...where is it?
- PatrickFisher, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27I'm going to have to watch some of these. I consider myself a geek that doesn't suck...
- Dylan16807, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Now where is the torrent with all of these movies in one place?
- DoodlesMcPooh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17There were some good movies in there but there were also some sucky ones.
Dugg for including Galaxy Quest as I have a thing for Sigourney Weaver that goes back to Ghostbusters in my childhood.
Come to think of it where is Ghostbusters? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21where in the ***** is anti-trust....
- junk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@spartan018
I don't think that means what you think it means. - hokeywebb22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Why is there AI then Minority Report and then a double pack of AI and Minority Report?
- theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Yes, thanks! I completely forgot about Excalibur. That is one AWESOME movie if you have never seen it. I remember I saw it as a kid when it came out, and I watched it over and over. Great movie! I am going to try to get it and re-watch it again as soon as I can.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Revenge of the Nerds anyone? Perfect for a geek.
- mrkmrk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Hey, now. Donnie Darko was a good movie.
- Llanowar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I believe it's closer to 10 movies that do not suck...
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12"Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. Based on this morning's reading, it would be a Twinkie thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds."
"That's a big Twinkie." - amandaw33, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Office Space = Immediately dugg
"An Evening with Kevin Smith " Saw Vol 1 and loved it.. - saska, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12You just hate the kissing part. Admit it.
- Derelict267, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12No Batman Begins? Same director as Memento...and not to mention my favorite movie The Presitge
- VtmnR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Some of them were good... like Dune, Akira, Clerks.
- podgey22, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14To quote one of the comments:
"You’re a ***** idiot. This is a ***** list and I hope you get ass cancer." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12This list blows...
How can you not have 'Real Genius' on this list? - junk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Dugg for Gattaca. I ***** can't stand Ethan Hawke, the whole rat-faced intellectual poseur vibe and all that, but that was still a solid sci-fi movie that is often overlooked.
- DrewBlood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Elf? Constantine?
I'd like to see eXistenZ on that list. Under-rated, geeky, and great. - NeoCortex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Umm....Star Wars is in there. Actually it's put in as "The Star Wars Trilogy: The Good One"
- Mortiferous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That's my favorite movie. You're obviously out-voted. Inconceivable.
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Riddick Trilogy? Underworld? A.I?
Well they got most of them right.
Where is Sneakers? - nthitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Same with Spider Man 1 and 2
- inmatarian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Porch Monkeys 4 Life!
- saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Here's my advice if you're buying a movie for somebody: if you don't know them well enough to know whether they'd like the DVD in your shopping cart, don't buy it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I liked the original Dune movie, it's not as accurate as the new one, but it got the characters exactly right; near perfect.
- AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That's too bad.
- Ayavaron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That's odd because Garden State is one of my all-time favorite movies. It celebrates little weird things in life that we often treat as mundane. Of course, it takes this a little beyond reality but not so far out that you'll be screaming shenanigans.
Another thing I like about the movie is that it serves as a counterpoint to Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. In Brave New World, everyone is drugged up and happy but here, everyone is drugged up and unhappy. They see how it is dulling their lives and their escapism is responsible for the dullness they're trying to fill.
PLUS: It has Natalie Portman playing an incredibly endearing character.
It's a fun movie with some substance to it also. Give it a bit more credit than that. - DJCult, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The Sci-Fi channel 'Dune' is ***** incredible. And Barbora Kodetová is the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. EVER.
- BlackCow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9How the HELL is "Bad Santa" on there for 81 movies for geeks but NOT "Hackers"! This list is a load of crap.
- GrizzlyWG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"The Big Lebowski" although not geeky...is somehow geeky. Shoulda been on the list in my opinion.
- themaestro8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Dugg just because the Cube was on there. What a mind ***** of a movie. It's amazing
- rjfalcon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Am I the only one who liked The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy?
- Sedako, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I still don't understand why Fifth Element has always been given average scores. It was such a great movie in pretty much every way. It was directed the same guy that did The Professional.
- w0rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5He obviously got wtf and ftw mixed up.
- livestradamus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yup
The Cube was a mind *****, Cube 2 sucked balls - zomgPeterson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I'll digg it, but seriously... I'd have to dissagree with some of the choices in that list.
- teresa73521, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6don't forget War Games.
- mitrebox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5what no Hackers?
- Noctem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6hah! 'Real Genius' was awesome, and possibly the last good movie Val Kilmer starred in. (Though 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was excellent.)
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dugg for Goonies alone, not to mention a bunch of other mentioned.
- HardSide, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I'm impressed they mentioned Seven Samuria...but the list really did suck. How is Elf a geek movie? No mention of star wars?
- davidhildreth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Donnie Darko was a great movie, but for god's sake please dont get the directors cut.
