http://youtube.com/watch?v=n4jMzKxYB74 - SquareHipster, on 07/24/2008, -0/+6I know we've been flooded with the no *my favourite movie* comments but seriously.... Overlooking Saul Bass and anything he did, namely the "Psycho" or "Casino" opening credits is a huge oversight. This is the guy that DECIDED that title cards didn't have to be static anymore. We wouldn't have opening credits if it wasn't for Saul Bass and his graphic design.
"My initial thoughts about what a title can do was to set mood and the prime underlying core of the film's story, to express the story in some metaphorical way. I saw the title as a way of conditioning the audience, so that when the film actually began, viewers would already have an emotional resonance with it." - Saul Bass

- geniusNOTatWORK, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5maybe not the greatest, but the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang title sequence stands out in my mind:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bpP9sI72bM - baysidecomedy, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5Where is Superbad, retro 70's silhuette dancing as the opening credits and dozens of dick drawings as the ending credits, that is pure gold!!!
- rkiga, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5i'm really amazed seven wasn't on that list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEZK7mJoPLY
also, as mentioned above, the end credits / DVD navigation artwork for lemony snicket's a series of unfortunate events are some of the best i've seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUx8Jf8F7Ks
as listed, i think "stranger than fiction" was surprisingly very good, and also worth the watch just to see the sporadic motion graphics they used throughout the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLPUmYiVgbw - pwnies, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Very creepy/cool intro/exit sequences. Kind of has a dark "Little Big Planet" feel. - benow, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5Limony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events had excellent closing credits

- bobdance, on 07/24/2008, -0/+4They seemed to forget every David Fincher film. He sure knows how to come up with the idea for some fantastic credit / title sequences.
- etherreal, on 07/24/2008, -0/+4I was just going to post up Fight Club as an example.
- veganvelma, on 07/24/2008, -1/+5Stranger Than Fiction was an amazing movie.

- dontswimtoshore, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3anything made by prologue is brilliant -- spiderman, ironman, fight club, seven...list goes on and on and on
- Owwmykneecap, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3House, but I think the version we see is different to the US
Brasseye's are hilarious - innocentsinner, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3I enjoyed the end credits of Kill Bill Vol. 2. Three credit 'sequences' and some fantastic music.

Trainspotting! - Caleb83, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3It's OK, Seven had a way more interesting title sequence than Fight Club did.
- WickEd101, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3Dugg. Definitely my fav credits of any TV show from recent memory.
- blaze03, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3Ok, I should give some background on this. Okami's (PS2) ending credits sequence/staff roll is one of the most loved ever made for a video game. The song is "Reset" by Ayaka Hirahara. The sequence perfectly captured the soul of the whole game and brought beautiful closure to the experience.
Unfortunately there was some drama surrounding it. Okami was developed by Clover Studio, the team that also did Viewtiful Joe and God Hand. Okami was their last masterpiece, as the studio was shut down by Capcom soon after the game was released. Capcom decided to release Okami for the Wii in 2008, but mysteriously left out the credits sequence at the end.
Upon hearing about this, the game's director, Hideki Kamiya, posted on his blog about his disappointment of this fact, and this created a lot of controversy on the net forcing Capcom to explain that they had cut the sequence because it featured a Clover Studio logo at the end, and that they had no legal right to use it. Fans called ***** on this as they could have easily faded that part to black, so some believe that it was cut due to the bad breakup between Capcom and Clover. You can read more about this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckami#Wii_versio ...
Clover has regrouped and is now developing MadWorld for the Wii and Bayonetta for the 360/PS3. - crash331, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3No Fight Club = No digg.

- darkciti2, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2I liked the cast babies and how they were the same 13 infants that fell when the ship leaned...
- antdude, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2How about The Terminal movie's introduction with the letter flippings on the signs?
- innocentsinner, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2darkciti2, you forgot "Dugg for Sam Elliott, Aaron Eckhart, and Rob Lowe". And what's wrong with Fox movies?
- inactive, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2No it didn't.
It was about as good as anything on Cartoon Network including that disturbing Chowder. - Smigge87, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2thanks :)

- inactive, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2the titles for Cronenberg's awesome eXistenZ are so simple, but really trippy
- bleemins, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Not enough people in the U.S. have seen Brasseye. Go to your local video store and rent it. It's hilarious. My favorite is the episode about pedophiles. I basically pissed my pants laughing when I saw it for the first time.
- egamipeaks, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2I like the simplicity of LOST
- retoriplastique, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Crap, I just commented about the same thing and posted about the same time.
A good link with a lot of opening credits made by Bass: http://www.notcoming.com/saulbass/index2.php - retoriplastique, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Buried as lame. There's a lot of other movies out there with much better credits. And, no love for the oldies?. I can't understand how a blog about graphic design can leave Saul Bass out of this list: http://www.notcoming.com/saulbass/index2.php
- Seacor, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Wow, no James Bond films on the list? That's pretty sad. Of course, it's just another blog site full of garbage. Not dugg.
- MysticSavage, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Amen. The tarot card sequences are pure genius.
