- JDPoZ, on 09/02/2008, -3/+36I've said it before and I'll say it again; "The Fall of Reach" is, by far, the greatest story from the world of Halo. If it were to be made into a movie, it would kick so much ass. If I had to describe what the plot of the movie would be like, I'd say it would be a cross between Soldier, Starship Troopers, and Saving Private Ryan.
Say what you will about the games themselves, but the book made me so much more invested in the characters from the games. I went from guy who played Halo at his friends house, to owner of not only all the games, but also all of the books (even though the only good book was "The Fall of Reach"), a 12" Kotobukiya Master Chief figure, and even that crazy laser tag Halo 3 Plasma Rifle they made.
Do yourself a favor and read it if you are at all interested in a Halo movie. - reyesz, on 09/03/2008, -3/+11whoa...
- matrixbandit, on 09/03/2008, -0/+7Me too, though we passed Halo 5 a long time ago, which according to this, would have been the "Broken" single.

- Rendonsmug, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5A hull breach would be perfectly capable of leaving a debris trail though.
- eSentrik, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5I think he is referring to the premise. Obviously Halo will have a much better production value.
- cjpluta, on 09/03/2008, -1/+6Its the 5th work of art, not a 5th Halo.
- Jsmuli2, on 09/03/2008, -2/+5Of all the "concept art" that could be shown for a Fall of Reach film, you would think we would see a bunch of kids attacking a base full of marines. Or maybe that first scene in the book where they blow up a huge ass field where thousands of grunts were charging at the Spartans.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3If they do make this, please make sure to have a physics expert on top of the special effects morons, there is no such thing as a smoke trail behind a burning spaceship, ITS SPACE!
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2And we were so close to having a Halo movie with Peter Jackson... Damn.
- BedPost, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Ghosts of Onyx was pretty decent, but yes, Fall of Reach was fantastic. That would make not only a great movie, but I think it has potential to be a great game, too.
- Darksaber11, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Somehow I think that he missed the fact that Starship Troopers is a parody.
- coolnerd, on 09/03/2008, -1/+3mirror anyone?
- Nissmo66, on 09/03/2008, -6/+8I thought this was NIN news....
anyway proceed - lennybird, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Fall of Reach was the first halo book I read - I skipped over anything Eric Nylund did not write. To say it's the best over First Strike and Ghosts of Oynx is very difficult, but I would tend to agree with you. Ghosts of Oynx would be a little more than the average halo person/movie goer; though the camaraderie between the old and new generation was very interesting. After Halo 2's single player, I decided to ignore everything in the games, and get the story of the halo-verse through Eric's books.
I keep seeing these concept posts, and sorry I'm an idiot, but are they actually making the movie, then? - AtomicTheory, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1roffle
- Quicksilver4648, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1I was always a little "meh" when I heard that the origional Halo movie, before it was canned, was going to based on the first game. I was glad there was going to be a movie, but with the game being so good I just wanted a direct movie adaptation without random additional information added which could lower the quality of the film. But a Halo movie based on the book, I am down with this.
- skoles, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2You all really believe this is concept art from the film? Looks like lame fan art.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -2/+3Not going to happen. Latino Review is just trying to suck in more traffic from eager Digg users.
- Andrwmorph, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2Soldier and Starship Troopers were ***** amazing. Your problem is that you took them too seriously.
- penguinofspades, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1which is why its the book that would be made into a movie, not the game. those translate pretty well usually.
- baronvonnasty, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Dr. Halsey was such a bitch...
- Quicksilver4648, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Reading it now... er... listening to it now on Audio Book.
- ninjaface, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1guess the truth hurts
- JDPoZ, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Thank you. I was referring to the premise, not their merit as great films.
And I know Starship Troopers and Soldier were pretty low-brow, but so was the Transporter, Transformers, and Shoot 'Em Up... and the people who made those movies knew it. Yet they still kicked ass. - ninjaface, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2gay and retarded rolled up in a moron sandwitch ready to be consumed be people who like ***** movies.
- overridemymind, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1I was honestly wondering the same thing, so... you know...
- Quicksilver4648, on 09/03/2008, -1/+1You do know that there were four other concept art pictures before this one right? And by the way, these images were leaked. Meaning, there could be more concept art, but it hasn't been leaked yet.
- EddyG12, on 09/03/2008, -2/+2but watch, they're gonna ***** it up
just watch - ninjaface, on 09/03/2008, -3/+3Here's the formula: Really tough good guys with a tender spot somewhere beneath all that armor, who must overcome some series of insurmountable tasks, in order to save some ***** object (either planet, universe, woman, or all three), and at some point their chances will seem improbable, but somehow, against all odds, they are able to conquer evil in some hugely climatic explosive victory. Dripping with cheese.
Enough already. Does anyone actually think a good movie is going to come out of any story and/or concept art from Halo? It's a guaranteed direct to DVD staring the Rock or Vin Diesel. If you like big budget action/explosion, done a million times already, macho good guys against aliens movies... knock yourself out. - AcidVision, on 09/03/2008, -2/+2the book was flipping great. heres to a good movie so long as peter jackson is still attached.
- ninjaface, on 09/03/2008, -1/+1Well said. These toolbags don't seem to realize that video games don't translate well into movies no matter how many failed attempts there are as proof.
- yaygrr, on 09/03/2008, -2/+25th halo?

- esoteric, on 09/03/2008, -3/+2Once again fake lame fan art by someone who sucks with photoshop.
- rick9999, on 09/03/2008, -5/+2If this were to be made into a movie, it would beat out Disaster Movie for the worst film in history!
- rddtf3, on 09/03/2008, -5/+2Where's 1 through 4?
- hagfish70, on 09/03/2008, -7/+4Wait what happened to Halo 4?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -5/+2looks like the bsg battle scenes
- iRoy, on 09/03/2008, -7/+4Looks pretty gay.
- johnnyxooxie, on 09/03/2008, -4/+0Sick.
- Melenor, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1I wouldn't have expected Covenant ships to be attacking human ones in the movie! Oh boy!
- esoteric, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1While I agree with JDPoZ about the book being the best story, once again this "concept art" screams fake, just like its predecessors.
- hagfish70, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1I am digging your stupid ass down due to your poor joke recognition skills. Granted it wasn't so funny, but c'mon… Are you that thick?
- Encablossa, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1require moar pooper
- Achaean, on 09/03/2008, -9/+4i'm sorry but Soldier and Starship Troopers were ***** god awful movies. I hope that the Halo movie is NOT going to be like them.
- brodieface, on 09/03/2008, -7/+1In other news, Metallica still sucks after their latest effort.
