- secretwhistle, on 11/15/2007, -0/+36Hmmm... no mention of Thor's previous appearance in "Adventures in Babysitting."
- Leo21k, on 11/15/2007, -1/+23They need to make a movie about Deadpool.
- Pilomotor, on 11/15/2007, -0/+22"If you take away almost everything ridiculous that doesn't work about Captain Marvel, you have his antithesis and mortal enemy, Black Adam. Not to worry, though, sensitive readers, Black Adam is not a racist caricature of a black man that embodies everything evil. The 'Black' only refers to his dark soul and corrupted nature. He's actually an Arab."
Dugg. - Scottamus, on 11/15/2007, -1/+17Yes, his green fish scale thong will cost a fortune to glitter and glisten during the entire movie.
- Postmodernism, on 11/15/2007, -2/+16I wish someone would make Y: The Last Man into a movie, but they probably couldn't do that without ruining it League of Extraordinary Gentleman style.
- saltywings, on 11/15/2007, -4/+17Good article... Sweet Christmas!
- IWantSomeCoffee, on 11/15/2007, -3/+16Cracked.com rocks - these are some of the funniest guys around in my opinion. Nice Digg!
- SaintStryfe, on 11/15/2007, -1/+14whoa whoa whoa... thier Captian Marvel Explaination was COMPLETELY WRONG....
Cap was one of the top selling books in the 40's, published in Whiz comics which was not from the foreunner of either DC or Marvel. For a good while, Cap outsold both Captain America and Superman. National (what DC was called before they changed their name) sued Whiz' publisher because of the similarities between Sups and Cap. Whiz' publisher kept winning, but National wore them down until they had to shut down because it wasn't profitable. Eventually, National bought the rights to Cap and several other characters, and merged them them into another of DC's many multiple universes (Earth-S, for Shazam). However, in that mean time, the copy write on the name "Captain Marvel" was up, and the company now known as Marvel created a character called Captain Marvel (so there are more then a few separate Captain Marvels, being Cap has recently been replaced by a Captain Marvel, and Marvel's CM has been replaced and resurrected several times). So to publish the books, DC called it Shazam!. They intially had crossover stories in JLA, then republished old material, then Post-Crisis, they gave a very good Jerry Ordway published series called The Power of Shazam (including a cool crossover with Starman), and now has a the new series where the former Capt. Marvel Jr. is becoming the new "Marvel", with Billy being the new Wizard.
Boo to cracked on this one, they usually have some moderate level of research in their articles, even silly ones like this one. - Jrepass, on 11/15/2007, -0/+10Comic movies are where the moneys at right now. No matter how bad a movie it is people will still go see a name they recognize. I.e. X-men 3, Spider-man 3, and Fantastic 4 Two.
- stevedclarke, on 11/15/2007, -0/+10They got it a bit wrong with SM3, the symbiont should have made him evil, not emo.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+10says the guy with a rainbow as his avatar.
- Cornloaf, on 11/15/2007, -0/+9Looks like the submitter made a mistake. The original article says "Batman Begins".
- Eallan, on 11/15/2007, -1/+10Good god Xmen 3 was a travesty.
Spider-Man 3 was pretty disappointing as well. - HunterTV, on 11/15/2007, -0/+7I will stop them, by the power of Greyskull!
- Emused, on 11/15/2007, -0/+7Digg this if you want Hollywood to make a movie based on the "Techno Viking" as the hero.He could intimidate through rhythmic dancing and vague gestures.
- Mischa, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6Does anyone else think an Infinity Gauntlet movie would be cool to see?
- LordSpam, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6Namor first appeared in 1939. Aquaman in 1941. So I guess Marvel is psychic.
- coltrane68, on 11/15/2007, -2/+8I have to disagree. Some of these stories might translate well to the big screen. Namor is tough due to the water effects, but he is a great character. If the writers are smart, they will reference Namor's role in the Allied war effort. Green Lantern is a terrific fit for the big screen. Captain Marvel always seemed a bit dull, but I am not a DC fan. Thor seems like the biggest potential loser. I have been a Thor fan for 30 years, but I worry that a god does not translate well to the big screen. Are people really going to learn about Asgard, Midgard, the Rainbow Bridge, and all of the secondary characters with wacky Norse names? Maybe the only saving grace would be if the Loki were cast perfectly.
- sjbdallas, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6Oh geez. How cheesy was 70's TV. I remember watching Shazam but I don't remember it sucking so bad. I'm trying to remember if Isis was in Shazam or if it was a spin off for chicks. Anyone?
- MarkDykeman, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6I especially agree with you about Green Lantern, but I would do one thing different. I would emphasize the fact that the GLs are part of a huge group. DC Comics is back to promoting the Green Lantern Corps as a whole, including several of its members. I think you could access some of the camraderie of the first Starship Troopers movie, but portray the GLs more like the Jedi. I think it could be very good.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Good Article. This is weirder than them making The Sims movie. lol @ Namor's wings.
- davidlwdn, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Luke cage? How about a new avengers movie! :D
- Serapthi, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Maybe to them, emos are evil.
- sjbdallas, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Oh yeah. Now that guy was a badass thor.
- forks, on 11/15/2007, -1/+6Funny, I didn't see Watchmen on that list.
- adr4, on 11/15/2007, -3/+8Cracked's articles should just auto-appear on digg since every single one reaches the front page.
- jon30041, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4Jessica Jones was a member of the Avengers. Thing is, Luke Cage doesn't wear the stuff that the cracked guys show him in anymore. He wears a t-shirt and jeans and beats the hell out of everyone. It's *****' sweet. He's one of those characters that TRIED a super-hero name, TRIED the spandex and costume stuff, didn't like it because it was gay, and simply goes out and lays some glorious smackdown.
- LargeTrout, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4They did that one back in the 80's I think. Terrible film.
- dunnylovehun, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5Beyond Sandman, every movie that ever involved a bunch of water (Titanic, Waterworld, etc) has been famously expensive. Something about water just costs a ton. But I'm sure this Namor movie will be well worth it. He does have little calf wings.
- carl25, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5"Namor has pointy Spock ears, can communicate with aquatic life, breathe underwater, possesses an enhanced physique to deal with the high pressure depths and, of course, has the obligatory tiny wings on his ankles that enable him to fly. "
And he ***** kicks ass and takes names. In that order - gordonp, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5"Captain Marvel is to Superman what GoBots are to Transformers, what Power Rangers are to Voltron, or what Cracked magazine is to MAD magazine."
Dugg, baby! - sunchild, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Batman Returns?! Submitter is an idiot--can't even cut and paste properly.
- tonicboy, on 11/15/2007, -2/+5yeah i have to say, cracked.com articles are always really funny and well-written.
- Frei, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3I think it would make a better television series.
- fredkreuger, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Only if they can get Bea Arthur.
- jon30041, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3... Well that freakin' blows. Watchmen is the best look into a complex array of different psychological problems. How the HELL can you explain Rorschach in a PG-13 way? Think about that DOG!
- satanikus, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3That, or the hideously awesome Thor-Incredible Hulk crossover made-for TV movie.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800273/
- johnnysaucepn, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Water is cheap. Dropping your camera in it isn't!

- slayerab, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3I think their articles are genuinely well written, but then again I get 40 bucks per digg, right?
- doctordbx, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3"just a tad racist."... dude, he's an Arab.

- alexforcefive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2I agree! Namor seriously ***** up Iron Man in Civil War. So long as they keep the whole king of atlantis ***** to a minimum, it should be a good film
- Pilomotor, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3Wikipedia is your friend.
- jon30041, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2He more kicks ass and takes the women, to sexually pleasure until they no longer wish for a ***** sapien, and instead spend all their time on the beaches crying out for ***** mermanus.
