there are a few shows that attribute greatness to my childhood.
1. Rockos modern life
2. Are you afraid of the dark
3. Thundercats - eightyd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Me, I'd prefer new, fresh ideas to CGI bastardizations of 80's pre-anime cartoons.
- alexforcefive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16I didn't.
- dallascorbin504, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Thunder... thunder...thundercats......Hoooooooooooo
- purpmint008, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Eye of thundera give me sight beyond sight!
*recieves sight*
*sees that another catwoman by halle berry is more likely* - dpcdomino, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Christopher Walkens...Mumra. Nuff said
- roseap, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11buried for thinking Xmen2 was a bad movie, then dugg for thinking X3 was bad...
- Nickatnite101, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12***** CGI make it live action, Vin Diesel as Panthera, Jessica Biel as Cheetara, Arnold Swarchenegger as Liono, the Olsen twins as those twin cat things.... and Michael Moore as that annoying pet thing that says "SNARF"
- ukdave, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11I'm sold, I loved that cartoon when I was a little kid
- Miyazaki, on 10/10/2007, -6/+12Just because you liked a cartoon as a kid, or still maybe watch it now to feel nostalgic does not mean it'd make a good movie.
A Thundercats movie would be horrible. - avonwodahs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Snarf?!
- sowdog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5One reason why it mustn't. http://www.break.com/pictures/05jun17.html
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5live-action CGI is an oxymoron
- ragunax, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Yawn. They are making a new CGI-animated movie, not a live action. On WIkipedia.
- zaul32, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Why don't you sons of bitches stop trying to rape my childhood.
- joper90, on 10/10/2007, -2/+61) because thunder cats are on the loose..
- imbob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3i hope it doesnt end up like the HULK movie >.
- darfvader, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5No 1 reason: Cheatara
- XxERMxX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Turn the page wash your hands,Turn the page wash your hands.....
Rocko was the greatest. - craterburnsu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Same reason that i'm glad they never went through with the Dragonball Z live action movie that was rumored for so long. I loved that show back in the mid 90s... but i couldn't bear to see that happen.
- xister, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9Great- another childhood memory that Hollywood can completely ***** up.
Transformers: Check
Silver Surfer: Check
Thundercats: Soon to be checked. Let's let Michael Bay direct it! (sarcasm) - Fr4nk2012, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3If you watch the show now it doesn't even make sense. I loved this show as a kid but when I saw a episode recently I asked myself how I could have ever liked it. by the end of the show nothing had even been resolved.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'd prefer an entire movie with the animation of the Thundercats intro.
- Dhalgren, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3He was. His voice was done by the same actor that played Cliff Huxtable's dad on the Cosby show.
- xOKxWhy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Filbert: Oh fish sticks, I'm nauseous
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Yeah, description says "Live Action CGI movie" which seems like a bit of a contradiction.
- livevil, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Hey guys you can still watch those shows along with Adventures of Pete and Pete at: http://www.tv-links.co.uk
- CDoug03, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Cause all the female Thundercats are Hoooooooooooooooooooo's!
- dragon76, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Because Alexander Salkind raped your parents childhood and someone in your generation will rape the childhood of your children. Geroge Lucas will continue to rape everyone.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2X-Men 3 was great because you actually got to see them using their powers and fighting. The first one barely showed any mutant power usage, the second one a bit more, but the third one finally showed them in all their glory. You got to see ***** happen.
- ThePags, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No.
- markdelete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1what a retarded blog/movie site acompanied by retarded reasoning in which a movie is to be made. sadly someone over 25 probably wrote this in the depths of his momma's basment.
- dragon76, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I fell asleep during TMNT.
- dandonia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1why do people promote the things as live action - are we going to watch them live, i dont get it.
For me it only needed one reason and thats Cos it ROCKs!
for a runner up how about the fact chitara will be practically nude the whole movie.....GIGEDY - raitchison, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2What I want to know is who are they going to get to play Cheetara? Maybe Morena Baccarin.
- Gotar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Sorry but if you're talking animation yes that didn't suck. The movie however did suck, SUCKED reallly hard.
- spacechip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would have no interest in a Thundercats movie unless it was animated and preserved the look of the original show, animated by Topcraft for Rankin-Bass, in the same vein as the other work they did for the US in that era: The Hobbit, the Return of the King, the Last Unicorn. Without their style and quality of animation, the show is basically worthless IMHO.
Topcraft morphed into Studio Ghibli after Miyazaki showed up with some of his own people to direct Nausicaa, so I suppose it's actually possible that this could be done, but I seriously doubt they'd be interested at this point. - deadlove75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I can give five reasons why a "Thundercats" movie is a bad idea.
1. Transformers
2. Transformers
3. Transformers
4. Transformers
5. TMNT - dragon76, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I thought X2 was better than the first one. More character development, a limitation on new characters being brought in, an overall better storyline and much better acting.
- cyclox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1#1 reason... to get our sorry butts away from our computers for 2 hours.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well, since I don't think an illegal alien would get the part of Cheetarah, maybe you should ***** off about that. I think we can agree that this isn't the thread to discuss illegal immigration.
- Rmo4, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The recommended casting choices in this article are absolutely terrible. Jake Gyllenhaal as Lion-O?! Vinnie Jones as Panthro? Come on, we all know Panthro is black, gimme a break.
- xike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Agreed.
- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Wait, is there more than one Christopher Walken now? I guess they really did succeed in cloning. Now all that Thundercats needs is more cowbell.
- ChileanGoD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Dupe... Dupe... Ohhhhhhh!
- in2deep, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I can agree on this!
- EComni, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm glad someone else. Thundercats is a pretty wretched show. The humor is bad, the animation is bad, the cookie-cutter "Lionel gets in trouble and has to call everyone and Mumra gets away" plots are bad. I implore anyone who still actually likes Thundercats to take off your rose-colored glasses and watch a few episodes now. It, like most 80s cartoons (with my own personal exception of GI Joe) did NOT hold up well.
- CannibalTom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1From what I've seen come out of Hollywood, I'd be more worried that they would ruin it than make a production worthy to carry the name Thundercats.
- DarkShroud, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The animation did not suck. The question is of director, writers, and the cast. Jake needs to stay up on Broke Back Mountain.
- actorboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"I'll stop pirating when Hollywood stops turning out *****!" "Dude, they should tooootally make a frickin' Thundercats movie!"
