Hopefully we'll see more movies enter the public domain, unless of course, they are backed by a big conglomerate, where we see money interests in the faceless corporations stand above that of real people. What I don't understand is in the US, personal productions copyright lasts the lifetime of the author plus 50 years, but those produced by a corporate, lasts 75 years (refer : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Bono_Copyright_Term_Extension_Act). Obviously the corporation has more rights than the individual, especially in the birthplace of 'the corporation'.
