- jordanlgta, on 11/14/2007, -2/+9Ain't It Cool News is not listed?!?! Ain't It Cool News is one of the longest running, most popular and most successful movie websites.
Movie-related people like Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Kevin Smith (just to name three of many) post on there often, responding to people. It's completely in a category by itself.

They even migrated from Podcasting to NPR - barktwiggs, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4http://www.ericdsnider.com
Snide Remarks is one of the funniest and longest running movie websites that is really underrated. He got banned from going to Sony film screenings after exposing their junket system. - jondus, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Eric Snider is the best.
- GunsGermsSteel, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Only Flixster could make a list this terrible. Well done.
- Giggy, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4Agreed, a huge miss for this list. Filmspotting has some great and very thorough reviews, for movie geeks I can't recommend it enough.
- PistolSO, on 11/14/2007, -4/+626. The Filmspotting podcast.
- FerdyonFilms, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2I am on the list, for which I am grateful because I really am an "underdog" laboring in obscurity, which was the reason Flixster gave for making this list in the first place. Greencine, ReelMovies, A.V. Onion are all high-profile, mainstream sites. I can't get listed on Rotten Tomatoes. None of them does what I do or what some of my blogger friends do. This is the typical movie geek rant about lists, which are boring as hell. Give us a break, y'all.
- chocobomog, on 11/14/2007, -3/+5No "The Movie Blog?" How does a list of best movie blogs skip TMB? I mean, it's THE Movie Blog... The title alone nominates it for this list.
How many of these other blogs stood up to Paramount and won? How many other blogs have podcasts that were voted #1 podcast of the year (above diggnation and TWIT). How many of them have co-hosts who f%$# a squash when a terrible movie (Norbit, Wild Hogs, etc) is the #1 box office?
Um... you know what, scratch that last one. I think I answered my own question why it isn't listed... - vich11, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2That list is ridiculous by merit of the sites that AREN'T there.
Should be "Top 25 movie sites that are run by friends of mine."
Vic - IHaveIssues, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Mourning the death of B.Fatt and Lazy.
- chugger1992, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2can we have a top 25 "top 25" lists already?
- whatthefu, on 11/14/2007, -5/+6Roger Ebert's overrated if you ask me. He may be the best known, but he's not the best or most insightful movie critic. I don't value his opinion.
- dalittle, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2I give props to them for getting info that few others do, and I have tried to like aintitcool.com, but their format makes it very difficult to read anything for more than a few minutes.
- Filmstalker, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1I'm always chuffed when I get a mention anywhere, but like some others I do think that the list is a bit odd. I think there's got to be a bit more of a selection criteria that's not been mentioned. Perhaps it is that each site only has one person and no staff? I have no idea.
That said, I don't think it's a ridiculous list - thanks for that Vic! - gmprunner, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1The whole point of a critic is to tell you about the movie BEFORE you see it, not after.
- JohnA, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1You have got to be kidding me.
How could any list seriously leave out James Berardinelli's Reelviews http://www.reelviews.net
He's been reviewing since the rec.arts.movies.reviews days, is friends with Roger Ebert, and one of the most consistent film critics online or off. - capiCrimm, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1edit: whoops, thought the movie sites were adds, comment erased
- blim8183, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1As a biased owner of a film blog himself, I have to say this list sucks.
No The House Next Door? d+kaz? GreenCine? - smek2, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2No filmcritic.com? No pajiba.com? Meh.
- kitchengeek, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0Awesome. Modded down, obviously by people who have never heard of Berardinelli. Because if you had, you wouldn't have downmodded me.
- pensivewombat, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1Leaving off the Onion A.V. club makes this pretty useless. It's the most intelligent film (and pop culture criticism in general) site available.
Oh, Kitchengeek is right about Berardinelli as well. - kitchengeek, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1Any list of "the best online movie critics" that doesn't include James Berardinelli is less than useless.
- slagzoo, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0i just crtl-f'd the word pajiba to make sure someone had said what you just said
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -2/+2Wheres www.JoBlo.com ????!!!!!! Blasphemy!!
- TonyDeFrancisco, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Thanks Flixster for including me!
Umm... I'm not an accountant though... - SKick, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1I can make up my own opinion concerning movies! Look at me go!
- Jmn187, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0Good List. But they forgot www.southpawindie.com
- def1234, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0just when I think lists can't get any worse, they rate the people that rate movies.
- draven99, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Thanks for the inclusion! I was wondering how my visit count went up so much!
I have a lot more coming too..... :) - Gaiusworld, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Nice niche to content to link. great job!
- sngbk, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Berardinelli is the best movie critic on or offline.
- alphacritic, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0I agree with vich11. I wouldn't say it was ridiculous, but quite a few good sites were left off. Maybe this should've been "100 Thumbs Up"
- photozz, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0or.. you could just go to RottenTomatoes.com. Seriously. Its the only site I use. It take individual opinion out of it entirely and totals the reviews.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1Tell Washington raise the Internet Royalty rate: save Digg.com! Our gorillas read the submission and died after twenty-five minutes of lethal shock from this! Hands Down!
- PistolSO, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1Yup...they should have been on the list.
- mjteggy05, on 11/13/2007, -4/+3how do you leave out Pajiba?
They're probably the most entertaining movie blogs out there. Not to mention the fact that they are pretty hilarious in their own right. I call BS on this list. - sreenisatish, on 11/13/2007, -3/+2Who else initially thought the links on the page were google Ads?
- AlphaOmega13, on 11/13/2007, -2/+0Always wanted it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- scoreboard27, on 11/13/2007, -3/+1Filthy Critic is downright hilarious. He should spin off a dating site...although I think his finger count might not be appropriate for that sort of thing.
- istoleherface, on 11/13/2007, -4/+1don't forget www.theantiblockbustermanifesto.blogspot.com - someone who hates hollywood, but loves writing about how he hates hollywood.
- jeremyliew, on 11/14/2007, -5/+2This is great - love the Greatest Movie Deaths!
- PistolSO, on 11/13/2007, -4/+1http://www.moviesfornobodies.com/
One of the funniest podcasts ever... - FerdyonFilms, on 11/13/2007, -5/+2Thanks for the two thumbs up! Very gratifying. I like all the other sites, too, some of which are new to me.
- joseph77b, on 11/14/2007, -5/+1great, useful list.
- istoleherface, on 11/13/2007, -5/+0don't forget www.theantiblockbustermanifesto.blogspot.com - someone who hates Hollywood, but loves writing about his hate in amusing ways.
