- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+61I haven't seen 300 yet because I was banned from my cineplex. We had all lined up in front of the theater for about 30 minutes, and then they brought us in. I had to stand right beside these two fat, horse-faced lesbians eating each others tongues like they were making a political statement or something. So, like 30 minutes later, we end up shuffling in the theater and these ***** bitches start bitching about having to wait when the movie is about to start, mind you, it was 11 and it was a midnight showing. It turns out they were going to see that stupid Jim Carrey movie 23 and they were missing it. So, the ugliest of the two bitches just exclaims like no one's there "This is the wrong ***** movie!" I just had to do what I did next. I shouted at the top of my lungs "This is SPARTA" and kicked her in the chest, causing her to fall down about 8 steps to the floor. Most were shocked, but about 80% of the theater started to cheer, and I was forcibly thrown out by 2 officers. Charges are going to be pressed against me apparently, but it was worth it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+63Money well spent... It was truly like watching marble and silver turn to flesh and blood, right before your eyes. Despite some of its smaller historical inaccuracies (remember, it is a movie based off of a graphic novel, which itself was based off of a single persons exaggerated account of what happened there), for everything it did wrong, it must have done 10 things right. The phalanx formation was absolutely great, and the movie captured the essence of what made the formation invincible in a choke point. It got so many things right about exactly what went on in the life of a Spartan boy, including leaving them in the woods and letting them find their way home. Even the monsters and the elephants, 20 feet too tall for their real life proportions, showed you what the battle was like in the Spartan mind... to them, they had never seen such races and creatures, you'd think they were towering giants and "monsters" too! In the end, don't go into the movie seeking a discovery documentary, with cold, hard realism, an emotionless birds eye view of the battle. Realism is not what you will find. Instead, you'll find surrealism.. events that are heightened and exaggerated, giving insight into the minds of those who fought in the battle.

- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9No every movie needs to have deep character development. Some movies just present a good story, and are fun to watch. This movie fits that perfectly. We get enough story to know who the Spartans are without 45 min of boring dialog, and the fight scenes are some of the best ever put on film.

- skinrock, on 10/12/2007, -13/+17Definitely among the best movies ever made. There are some movies that just get it right...and 300 succeeded in that department. The pacing was smooth, the script was moving, the actors believable, and top it off with some of the best cinematography of our time. One of the most memorable shots, in my opinion, was the low angle shot of the three Persian messengers riding in on their horses...something about the placement of the camera just made it more than what it was. They used that same technique throughout the movie, and it worked so well.

- TheDreadDiggerD, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6What did you really expect? We know from history books that 300 Spartans died at Thermopylae. There's not much plot to develop since *gasp* we know the ending. You couldn't enjoy the movie as the slaughter-fest that it was, and that's your problem.
