- mccartyba, on 06/18/2009, -2/+20I wouldn't deem Apocalypse Now as horror.
Some cool posters, though. I know I will definitely look for Humpty Dumpty now. - musicforus, on 06/18/2009, -2/+18Um, define "classic."
- beloitpiper, on 06/18/2009, -2/+15Apocalypse Now is a horror film?
- Loki614, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11If you enjoy horror movies that are so bad they're funny, I'd HIGHLY recommend Chopping Mall.
Undeniable Proof:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK5pbYOqwd0 - tjClassic82, on 06/18/2009, -2/+12The "Dead Alive" poster and and movie cover scared the crap out of my when I was a kid.
- thisismydigg, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9lol dead snow looks exponentially bad ass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEQwEmeWnyI
- confoundedjoe, on 06/18/2009, -1/+9Proof that posters are not a good way to judge the potential of a film.
- Fleagleman, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7The first "30 Days of Night" is the comic book cover, NOT the movie poster.
- teethandeyes, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7Wow. Cool teacher.
Nowadays, that teacher would be fired and it would be a a big news story.
So sad who times have changed... - pinkcherry, on 06/18/2009, -0/+7Back in high school my art teacher had the "I spit on your Grave" poster on the wall. I've loved that one ever since ;)
http://www.moviegoods.com/Assets/product_images/10 ... - Banoni, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6What's Humpty Dumpty doing in a movie? I thought all the king's horses and men couldn't put Humpty together again.
- myempyrean, on 06/18/2009, -0/+5Some of these are NSFW for those of you slacking off at your job
- acdcfanbill, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Seriously missing John Carpenter's The Thing!
http://www.wrongsideoftheart.com/wp-content/galler ... - geodebug, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Chopping Mall and Night of the Creeps FTW. Used to watch these on VCR back in Jr High and laugh at how campy they were.
- tglas, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4It's so sweet how a skeleton and a white woman could find love in Necromantic.
- Crossmenjeff, on 06/18/2009, -1/+5the maniac and hostel have the same poster. lol
- LogicBomB, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4He did it himself once they gave up and went for beers, and he's not happy about it.
- SeverTomorrow, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4The horror! The horror!
- Coffeedemon, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Got my hopes up with the Chopping Mall poster. For ***** sakes, some of these movies just came out. For the most part they are great posters though.
- ShiftyBizniss, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4I love this poster for The Shining. (It's for a stage production)
Not scary, but wickedly artistic.
http://www.firstshowing.net/img2/shining-poster-al ... - DrSchonUbul, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4The Hostel poster is a copy of (or homage to) the Maniac.
- Fleagleman, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3But that's pretty much my entire day
- burstaneurysm, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I worry about people who can't find entertainment in other people's misfortune.
- 63RM5, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Really? "It's only a movie..."
- Coffeedemon, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2That was a classic. I doubt I'd find it as enjoyable as I did when I was young though. Wish the video store stocked this stuff on DVD.
Another one to put on the list is Night of the Creeps. They were great at mixing horror/gore and comedy back in the day. - Kapprika, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Some of these are terrible. I really feel the whole "gritty photograph look depicting dirty, bloody stuff" asthetic is overdone. Perhaps we should go back to illustrations like the slashers of the 80s had.
- canudiggit123, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Is that the old power rangers robot?
- iwalkintodoors, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Is it just me, or did this design blog just seem to do a search for 'horror movie posters', copy the images, and post them?
As far as design, some were really bad. Not classic at all.
Design bloggers are some of the laziest bloggers of them all. - davewashere, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Definitely not a horror film. The Polish version of the movie poster they show is one of my all time favorites. Why do the Polish movie posters always look so much cooler than their American counterparts?
- DetpackJump, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2It was released over a year ago. I was waiting for it to come out, assuming it would be in theaters, then happened to see it in a used movie bin at a DVD store last summer. It's pure crap, not even a follow-up to the new Dawn. It's basically a scam movie trying to suck off the success of Dawn. I'm getting angry just typing this, lol.
- shiftkgb, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Apparently not.
- DRNOOO, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Man that Visceral movie look ***** in a OH MY GOD this is Twisted way !
http://www.mefeedia.com/entry/visceral-teaser-trai ... - Coffeedemon, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Does mommy know you're on the Internet?
- immatellyouwhat, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I thought Chopping Mall is where the mexicans go to shop.
- zomgwaffles, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2yea that Day of the Dead(2008) sucked balls
- LogicBomB, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Great movie but that was a terrible poster.
- Coffeedemon, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1How do *you* define classic? That movie isn't even 10 years old.
- Hellahulla, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1It wasn't '29 scariest posters' though.
However there are more classic examples of horror film posters available, but these are all very nice. - teethandeyes, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1'Nekromantic' is a great film. So is 'Nekromantic 2'. Track down at all costs for some great family entertainment.
- myempyrean, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Hey mine too, I just thought I'd warn people in my position, except that I am the IT department so I don't really care its NSFW.
- Infernorhythm, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Man that Dead Snow poster rules. Great film, brilliant poster.
- dafragsta, on 06/18/2009, -1/+2What? No Return of the Living Dead?
http://www.wrongsideoftheart.com/wp-content/galler ... - inactive, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1WHOA!!! When did they remake "Day of the Dead"? It really must've sucked...
- tewcewl, on 06/18/2009, -1/+2That looks like an absolutely terrifying movie.
- Fleagleman, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1I genuinely hope that Eli Roth actually makes "Thanksgiving"
- Couchy, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1It's hilarious, worth the d/l imo
- Spacejack, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1no distinctions between "fine art" and commercial art
- podobuzz, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Just keep repeating that to yourself...
It's only a movie...
It's only a movie...
It's only a movie... - LogicBomB, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Simple is one thing. Ugly is another. This is nothing like "Jason's mask".
- Spacejack, on 06/18/2009, -0/+0Ahem. Jason did not just GO to Manhattan. Jason TOOK Manhattan. Took it to the BANK. Where he DEPOSITED it. If you know what I mean.
