- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+20It was right in everyone's face. Tyler and I made it visible.
It was on the tip of everyone's tongue. Tyler and I just gave it a name. - mikbunn, on 12/03/2008, -1/+12The original list is pretty damned terrible.
- ssaxusggid, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9Buried for lack of Ernest P.Worrell.
- ArchetypeRyan, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9Dugg for Willy Wonka. Sorry Johnny Depp, but Gene Wilder is the man.
- decx, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7no dr gonzo? wtf
- Lasereth, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7Dugg for Mad Max.
They canceled the fourth Mad Max movie titled Fury Road. I will gladly direct it if given funding. All I need is some money and I will pump out a quality sequel. We're talking mentally retarded enemies that are half-clad in abstract leather, people eating dog food, cars running on pig *****, the whole shebang. - Kayakityak, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7Gilbert Grape

WTF??? Those characters aren't overlooked!! The fact that I know most of those characters without looking means that these characters are remembered.
John Travolta-SNL over looked?! Dr Evil overlooked, we had 3 frigging movies of him and everyone quoted him for years!! If I hear '1 millllion dollars' quoted again I will lose it actually! Superfrigginman?!?! WTF?
These stupid list irritate me as they take away from other awesome internet list.
Buried for being inacurate and dumb. - feshmania, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5I got 10 slides in and couldn't believe any of these characters weren't on the real list.
- PrismoFillusion, on 12/04/2008, -8/+13Buried for 26 page slideslow.
- sykotic, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5the 25 other were left out,,, not the first one... I thought that was obvious.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+5Did you even read it? No he wasn't overlooked, he was number 1
- sexybobo, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5Rule 1 and 2 seriously.
- JakeKreber, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Dugg for Lawrence of Arabia. Such a great movie.
- bytor4232, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Joachim: They're still running with shields down.
Khan: Of course! We are one big, happy fleet! Ah, Kirk, my old friend, do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold?
[pause]
Khan: It is very cold in space!
Greatest scene evar. - almondfilter3, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3Just like the 100 list, some good, some bad, and a list is an easy thing to fill your magazine/blog/forum/whatever.
Dr Evil, no, that got old pretty quick. That characters like Carlos Mencia or Dat Phan, after 5 minutes, thats about it. John Rambo, no, thats a little attempt at being "cooool" by taking a simple 80s ***** character and trying to flip it like no its mistaken, he's actually cool and good. But no he's not. Tracy Flick? ***** annoying and Reese Witherspoon is awfully overrated. La Motta, Annie Wilks, Kurtz, Gekko, hell yes. - inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+4Dugg for giving props to Gordon Gecko.
- Shabatoo, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3YOJIMBO!
- fangs4evrything, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3Dugg for Kathy Bates and Mr. Miyagi.
- kedohmen, on 12/04/2008, -2/+5How are these Characters overlooked? They are all from Classics, or Cult favorites? Does Not Make Sense.
- futimazar, on 12/04/2008, -1/+4Webster's Dictionary:
Overlooked (ō'vər-lŏŏk') =
1.) To fail to notice or consider; miss.
2.) Some of the most iconic movie characters in American cinema history????????? - Robotsscareme, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3I agree
- bytor4232, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2I own the special re-release in the hard cover. Great movie, O'Toole was so epic.
- NetSliderX, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2yeah.. slideshow.. no thanks

Even the Drones Fly Away
The Queen is Their Slave - Lonecow, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2A lot of the choices in the Empire list were characters that haven't stood the test of time. While actual great characters that have like Charles Foster Kane and Scarlet O Hera were put in the 90's because they felt they had to.
Really? Jigsaw is more interesting then Charles F. Kane?
Hans Gruber? Who is the equivalent of cartoon Skeletor as a mean one dimensional bad guy. *****, Skelator from the Masters of the Universe live action film is a hell of a lot more interesting then 90% of that list. - Robotsscareme, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2No Bruce lee Roy? ***** this list
- Trollbane, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2They were overlooked by me because I couldn't be bothered clicking through twenty six pages.
- helghe, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Beetlejuice, Mr. Hand, Predator?
- Zipko, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2You had me at slideshow
- ostracize, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Tracy Flick belonged on the list BECAUSE she was so ***** annoying. That was her character. Reese Witherspoon deserves credit for that delivery. I never wanted to punch anyone more than I wanted to punch Tracy Flick.
- Lonecow, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1They were overlooked by Empire's list... which was mostly horrible for including Tyler Durden as #1, Hans Gruber from Die Hard as #16, Jigsaw at #30 and Brick Tamblin.
- animenick65, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Dugg for not having annoying full page ads in between page loads.
- MpHase, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1They missed Dr Strangelove.
- logic11, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1I guess you missed the whole point of the submission. These were overlooked by the original list of 100 characters.
- logic11, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1John Rambo in First Blood is a great character with depth. Stallone had some trouble conveying the depth the book included in the character, but I thought he did okay. The character from the rest of the movies doesn't have any real relationship to the character from the book, and at best a limited one to the character from the first movie.
- antdude, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Did anyone have problems with thumbnails and navigation with AdBlock Plus enabled?
- petebot, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1The ball-washing scene makes me laugh every time.
- jgzman, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1They weren't on the list of 100. OP thinks they should have been.
Unless you were clumsily trying to point out that all the listed characters are bad? - Audiophile44, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Where's Christian Bale as Norman Bates?
- petebot, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1The shnozberries taste like shnozberries!
- andrew606, on 12/04/2008, -1/+2dugg for election. great movie.
- bonk2k, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1One of my favorite characters is Max Cherry from the ridiculously overlooked Jackie Brown. I find him to be one of the most relatable and believable characters from any of Tarantino's movies.
