- novenator, on 08/07/2009, -6/+70#19 Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I loved the entire series. - wingwangdoodle, on 08/07/2009, -0/+54Balls of Fury was terrible but how do you not like Christopher Walken no matter what he does?
- TSchiewe, on 08/08/2009, -1/+50I think some websites are starting to finally get the hang of it.
Dugg for all 24 examples being on one page. - absentbabinski, on 08/08/2009, -2/+33I believe the answer is "The Departed"
- inactive, on 08/07/2009, -1/+30I remember watching wild wild west in the movie theater with my brother and parents, I can still remember how pissed my parents were, and how pissed almost everyone in the theater was, I was only 8 or 9 so I thought the movie was great, as far as I can remember, but I saw it recently, and it really did suck.
- sodbustin, on 08/07/2009, -14/+36Since when is Mark Wahlberg a good actor?
- TheEggAndI, on 08/08/2009, -0/+21but salma hayek's bare ass makes it totally worth while.
- Cecconi, on 08/08/2009, -7/+28The fact that Nicolas Cage only has one spot on this list and it's at #16 is a joke. All 24 spots could have been crappy nicolas cage movies from the last 5 years alone, and of course that's only if you're even going to call him a good actor.
- skippy2012, on 08/08/2009, -0/+20Forest Whitaker was in Battlefield Earth because he's a freakin' Scientologist.
- NoticeDesign, on 08/08/2009, -2/+19Steve Martin, Christopher Walken, and Nicholas Cage have been in way too many terrible movies to go along with the "occasionally they go slumming" feel of this list.
- Llanowar, on 08/07/2009, -4/+20Though I personally do, I bet a lot of people won't agree with Cage being a good actor.
Also, I personally loved both The Reaping and Anaconda. While not the best movies they're certainly entertaining. - adamagb, on 08/08/2009, -0/+14My personal favorite would be Raul Julia as M. Bison...despite his illness and the terrible script, he still gave a damn good performance.
- cosworth99, on 08/08/2009, -0/+12I for one welcome our new scrolling overlords..
Yes, the old web rule of "must not scroll" is finally dying the death it needs to die. - Newscast, on 08/08/2009, -0/+11Llanowar, I was thinking the same thing when I watched it.
Weatherman, Lord of War, Con Air, The Rock, Raising Arizona, Bringing out the Dead, Next... dude's been in some awesome movies and does well in them.
He just seems to strike a chord with people (and pick a couple VERY bad movies.. though he's not usually the problem). - ruskicommi, on 08/08/2009, -1/+12Since he stopped rapping
- WhoRadley, on 08/08/2009, -14/+25Nic Cage is not a good actor.
- david4041, on 08/08/2009, -0/+9"The Pink Panther is hilarious if . . . "
. . . you haven't seen Peter Sellers in the role. - Zizhou, on 08/08/2009, -3/+12What? No Sean Connery in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? It's a shame that was the last film he was in before he retired.
- BrownieMix, on 08/08/2009, -2/+10Cho Yun Fat in Dragonball Evolution.
- dafragsta, on 08/08/2009, -2/+10He has his moments. Raising Arizona, Adaptation. He was pretty good in those.
- AeroZeppelin, on 08/08/2009, -1/+9Glad someone mentioned Adaptation. He was absolutely brilliant in that movie.
- SpazAttack5000, on 08/08/2009, -5/+13George Clooney is guilty on more than one occasion. Nick Cage probably can't be classified as a good actor, just had some good action movies back in his prime.
- mustafa78alkan, on 08/08/2009, -14/+21Nicolas Cage is good actor.
Which world do you live in.
Come on guy. - Beatmiser, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7How's your mother?
- inevitablity, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7That was a great decision as far as I'm concerned, or else we would have heard, " Aw helll nooo, I know Kung Fu!"
- Tableboy, on 08/08/2009, -1/+8I guess I have no taste... But I liked some of these movies
- inactive, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7I loved Lecter when he was evil. When he was the snuggly grand-dad who served as moral compass for all the other characters, I'll admit I did some eye-rolling.
- chiaconan, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7I liked Original Sin.
- SpazAttack5000, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7I like his 90's action movies despite his acting. Gotta love The Rock.
- enozten, on 08/08/2009, -0/+7fear is a weird selection
marky mark is decent actor, not a great one like pacino, deniro, hoffman, brando, or some of the others on the list
and fear is a pretty decent movie
also, why jack nicholson but not morgan freeman for the bucket list?
and anaconda was a sweet movie and voigt was awesome in it - SpazAttack5000, on 08/08/2009, -1/+7Haven't you seen Planet of the Apes? Yeah, you probably have.
- onlines, on 08/08/2009, -2/+8Balls of Fury was hilarious. It's the same style as Granma's boy.
- inactive, on 08/07/2009, -1/+6Of course its for a paycheck, plus big name actors have done so many good movies that they can do a bad movie now and then, because they've earned it, there a bankable actor, so they can star in a hunk of ***** movie, but that movie will sell big because he/she is in that movie. Or they just like acting so they'll do just about anything, just to try something new.
- BT1000101, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5The author of this article needs a VHS tape AND Laserdisc of Ishtar shoved up their ass!
- sacramentalist, on 08/08/2009, -1/+6I didn't know that. Now I want to digg down Forest Whitaker.
- sayuwantarevolu, on 08/08/2009, -3/+8I can feel myself being buried already but I liked Mr. Magorium...I know it's a kids' movie but I liked it and I usually don't like kids' movies.
- david4041, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5The first one, Silence of the Lambs, was good; Red Dragon was okay; the other two, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising, sucked.
- GorfTron, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5Acting on one form or art where selling out for a paycheck is just fine. Many forms of art really beat people up for that.
- CaviMike, on 08/08/2009, -2/+7Samuel Jackson in pretty much everything since Kill Bill and that was just a cameo that any idiot could have played. What has gotten into him?
- renegadeafk, on 08/08/2009, -1/+6He is definitely not a bad actor but picks some terrible movies.
- fragMasterFlash, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5Good thing Bill Cosby isn't really an actor:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD4bk776a-0 - Semprini, on 08/08/2009, -2/+7List sucks... How about Laurence Oliver in Inchon?
Nothing worse than some 20 something writing a list. - shlebede, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5Since Boogie Nights.
- RGB0099CC, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5I like "Ronin" :(
- Pseudo99, on 08/08/2009, -0/+5Balls of Fury was hilarious, and so was Christopher Walken's part.
- Gemfinder, on 08/08/2009, -0/+4He could recite the Hail Mary and be awesomely scary.
- inactive, on 08/08/2009, -0/+4To be fair, Clooney's worked hard to redeem himself for his missteps. Not sure Cage can say the same.
- awesometown, on 08/08/2009, -2/+6This was entertaining, but coming up with a list of good actors doing bad movies is like shooting fish in a barrel.
This also reminded me of a comment I read in a movie review about how when you're about to question why [talented actor] made [terrible movie], you should check to see if their kids are approaching college age. - akacz, on 08/08/2009, -0/+4I would of expected to see him playing Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider on this list.
- LiquidSpark, on 08/08/2009, -1/+5I liked the first 2. I think Hannibal is unfairly maligned.
