- ajuuajar, on 07/24/2008, -12/+43Definetively the best performance of Heath Ledger, this Joker must be a classic !!
- Walcherina, on 07/25/2008, -7/+2definitely*
- kinerry, on 07/25/2008, -5/+2*****, a knights tale is much better
- funkytaco, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Ye Olde LOL.
- boogie606, on 07/25/2008, -2/+1i think the joker in broke back mountain would have been interesting...
- cosioo, on 07/24/2008, -14/+86Heath Ledger's last performace was by far the best... Too bad we won't see anything else from him
- dnields, on 07/25/2008, -0/+29Except that Terry Gilliam movie that hasn't been released yet.
- speakafreaka, on 07/25/2008, -4/+5Thats my most anticipated movie of the next 12 months
- hasansexy, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3year*
- fas2, on 07/25/2008, -2/+2But you can always rewatch 10 Things I Hate about You. Good old...
- MalDON, on 07/25/2008, -2/+4I know this is going to sound really bad, but, I think him not being around actually makes his performance better. You sit there watching knowing it was one of the last films he's made.
- AoiTakuma, on 07/25/2008, -0/+4nope, no it doesnt. After the movie I sat there thinking "*****, that is not going to be repeated." Him being dead has nothing to do with how incredible his performance was.
- Wilsomatic, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Him being dead makes it suck more because it can't be done again. No one can live up to how good an actor he was in that movie. Believe it or not, actors can actually be good in movies. I'll let you absorb that piece of information....
- dnields, on 07/25/2008, -0/+29Except that Terry Gilliam movie that hasn't been released yet.
- TimeWrecker, on 07/25/2008, -10/+5Boooo, down already... First one with the mirror wins a prize
- Doomsan, on 07/25/2008, -2/+67The Crow rules (just the first one).
- tubbsthezombie, on 07/25/2008, -1/+15Agreed. The visual style in that movie is amazing, as was Lee.
- microchp, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6The most intriguing of all these actors was Brandon Lee. Some time, watch the interview with him on The Crow and you can tell he knew he was about to die. There is absolutely no doubt that he knew his time was up in the making of this film.
And I agree; only the first one was good. The movies that followed were as B-movie as it gets, next to Bimbo Cheerleaders from Outer Space. - hinmanj, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5Also, Bruce Lee died during the filming of Game Of Death (he's only in the fight scenes), so Enter the Dragon was not his last movie, though I guess he died a week before it was released...
- Oxygen, on 07/25/2008, -9/+131Heath Ledger was good in the new Batman movie, OK!, we get it...
- Chainheart, on 07/25/2008, -13/+8I'm tired more of seeing comments like this than I am stories about Batman
- Firespray1138, on 07/25/2008, -12/+22Seriously, everywhere I look it's "Heath was amazing!" "The Dark Knight was the best movie ever!!!!" "Heath Ledger's final performance was amazing!!!!"
Jesus I GET IT. He was good, he was awesome, he was Jesus, he was the *****, he was perfect, blah blah blah blah.
Go ahead and Digg me down.- DarkDx, on 07/25/2008, -14/+3The movie is really the best movie that I've ever seen (I haven't seen the godfather and I don't want, and I wont get out of your lawn) and his perfomance was awesome. So what?
- mistergoomba, on 07/25/2008, -4/+2we're just so excited.
- bubba9999, on 07/25/2008, -2/+3Heath Ledger died?
- Niubai, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1It's all very human. Humans have this necessity of praise and glorify the dead. His work was good, but I wonder what would happen if the guy were still alive ...

- Tyrghast, on 07/25/2008, -23/+12Marilyn Monroe > Heath Ledger
- edwintait, on 07/25/2008, -6/+9monroe didnt take on batman.
Ledger did.
Ledger>Monroe- CraigReed, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1You know what let's be thankful that they didn't try and make that Monroe vs. Batman movie.
- MutatedNantuko, on 07/25/2008, -0/+7I'm pretty sure that's an unfair association.
- ThePerkins, on 07/25/2008, -0/+8she DID take on the president...
- Dested, on 07/25/2008, -1/+1Anyone who can make a joke about marilyn monroe and batman using a quote from the movie will get a digg on every story they submit from me.
- dnields, on 07/25/2008, -12/+7Virtually any actor > Heath Ledger
Get over it kiddies... he gave a decent performance in TDK...but he wasn't THAT great of an actor.- MikeSetera, on 07/25/2008, -2/+7decent performance? Have you SEEN the movie? He stole the show!
- CraigReed, on 07/25/2008, -1/+2Not really did you see that Aaron Eckhart? I'd say his performance was on par, it's just easier to recognize the Joker because it's such an extreme role.
- masterspeaks, on 07/25/2008, -1/+2I agree, there was nothing spectacular about Ledger's performance. The writing, not his acting, went a long way in making the Joker work. I just wish The Dark Knight was rated R. Can you imagine how awesome all of the Joker's murder scenes if they didn't cut away at the gory parts.
- rainman513, on 07/25/2008, -2/+2wow you a fcuknig douche! I guess someone doesn't know what acting is.
- edwintait, on 07/25/2008, -6/+9monroe didnt take on batman.
- skinrock, on 07/25/2008, -1/+57Just because you didn't get to see it until after they died doesn't mean they never saw it.
- CptBuck, on 07/25/2008, -0/+16Orson Welles didn't see his last movie because no one went to see it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094007/
- TheDuckHat, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Forget that one, this was his last masterpiece IMO:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092106/ - scojerroc, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1?? 1999 (Moby Dick) is the date of the last movie according to imdb.
- Dested, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Stanley Kubrick aswell, sort of...
- TheDuckHat, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Forget that one, this was his last masterpiece IMO:
- ThePerkins, on 07/25/2008, -21/+39The filmed beheadings in Iraq?
- Raiden0899, on 07/25/2008, -2/+13That's horrible.

mirror please?- antdude, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2As you wished, http://filmoviezone.com.nyud.net/16-actors-actress ... ... But it's slow.
- gibrth, on 07/25/2008, -9/+41the saddest thing about Heath's performance is that there will always a shadow of doubt about whether he received all the acclaim because of his acting or his untimely death.
- travis6690, on 07/25/2008, -12/+17Have you SEEN the movie?
- kinerry, on 07/25/2008, -2/+2yes, way overhyped
- gibrth, on 07/25/2008, -2/+16three times. every joker scene is absolutely amazing. i'm just sayin...
- c0dem0nkey, on 07/25/2008, -2/+10You may get some heat for your original comment but my wife and I were just talking about this very issue yesterday. Heath did a great job but whether he wins acclaim or not there will always be a question lingering: did the fact that he died so young result in sympathetic acclaim or did he not win the acclaim he deserved because it would be too much of a slight to *live* actors to lose awards to a dead guy.
Ledger's Joker was the best I've ever seen and he did a tremendous job...but I agree with you. - pe5t1lence, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Is this what you mean?
You are saying some people know he was great in the Dark Knight but also some people will only say he was great because he died, because they do not fully understand why it was a great performance. That is some people who do not fully fathom the depths of insanity and the heights of genius of the Joker (for example Tim Burton, Jack Nicholson, etc.) so they are just giving lip service.
So some of the acclaim is "unwarranted" even if it is deserved. - ajimmykid, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1i think the OP is also saying that people who did see that it was a great performance are acclaiming it *more* because he died. it's not just people who are knowledgeable, and those who aren't.
- c0dem0nkey, on 07/25/2008, -2/+10You may get some heat for your original comment but my wife and I were just talking about this very issue yesterday. - beau05, on 07/25/2008, -2/+27umm.. heath ledger's last movie comes out next year and is called 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'.. dark knight was 2nd to last :P
- AoiTakuma, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2If you're going to bring that up then bring up the fact that Enter The Dragon wasn't Bruce Lee's last film, Game of Death was. He died while filming Game of Death. Fortunately he filmed the big fight scenes before he passed.

- Mackofalltrades, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2They just get brought to front page to put a smile on your face. Nothing wrong with that.
- snoop396, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5Nobody panics when the expected stories are dugg. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying. If I tell the press that tomorrow a gangbanger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will get blown up, nobody panics. But when I say one little old mayor will die, everyone loses their minds!! Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.
- fas2, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Say what?
- snoop396, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1its from the movie
- christof53, on 07/25/2008, -1/+17How many times are we going to see "great actors that died during a film" or "great actors who never saw their last film" or "Heath Ledger died during a film so let's make comparisons and put it on digg everyday"
- Darkangel754, on 07/25/2008, -2/+122The only reason this was written is so they could mention Heath Ledger
- Dested, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Wasnt it interesting though?
- Jpotts12, on 07/25/2008, -1/+2Not really.
- Dested, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Wasnt it interesting though?
- juniorlikespie, on 07/25/2008, -2/+11yeah everyones likes ledger now. where were these fans when he was alive? in fact where were these people when batman begins came out?
- vgtek, on 07/25/2008, -2/+3i guess you consider '10 things i hate about you' and 'a knight's tale' ground breaking performances...bravo
- Mpwns, on 07/25/2008, -0/+4a knights tale was a good movie and thats when i became a ledger fan.
- fas2, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1I love 10 things.
1. Digg
2. LOLCats
3. Dark Knight
4. iPhone
5. ...
Kidding, I really mean the movie!
- DraxusD, on 07/25/2008, -1/+2We weren't fans yet since we hadn't seen him as the Joker. I didn't enjoy any of his other movies (I didn't see Brokeback Mountain though)
- pe5t1lence, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Even the great mountains of Anne Hathaway were not enough draw for me to see that.
Seriously, I lived in the "art" dorms in college. I've seen way too much of that already. - Matsky, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1Great mountains? Her ***** are hardly great. And I've seen them in that really bad wigga movie she made. Very over-rated actress (and not that hot).
- pe5t1lence, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Even the great mountains of Anne Hathaway were not enough draw for me to see that.
- JackSrenton, on 07/25/2008, -1/+4Domestic box office for Batman Begins = $205,343,774

I think we were at the movies..
where were you?
- vgtek, on 07/25/2008, -2/+3i guess you consider '10 things i hate about you' and 'a knight's tale' ground breaking performances...bravo
- Sazafraz, on 07/25/2008, -2/+30People do realise there's one more movie coming out with Heath Ledger in it.. The Dark Knight is not his last movie.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus will be his final movie and seeing that it’s about a character that can change his appearance; Johnny Depp, Colin Farell and Jude Law have signed on and have completed the movie- Tyrghast, on 07/25/2008, -1/+11He still never saw his last movie.
- kotn2012, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Reminds me of Doctor Who.
- gcman94, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3I didnt see it either.
- kinerry, on 07/25/2008, -1/+1I still won't with all the hype
- cep59186, on 07/25/2008, -3/+1I've see that or something like it 15 times since heath died.
- orlandorays, on 07/25/2008, -2/+10Article suggests Phil Hartman killed his wife. I don't know if it's bad English or just a mistake, but in reality his wife killed him, and then committed suicide after confessing to a friend, and when she was about to be arrested.
- Dested, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1I see someone else spent an hour on the wikipedia article one night. Its really a sad story, I definitely recommend it for anyone who doesnt know.
- Jektal, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2I wasn't familiar with his/their story (although I vaguely remember something about it), but the impression I got from the article was exactly what you said: She killed him, then killed herself. Murder/Suicide.
- Lochie, on 07/25/2008, -5/+4Aaliyah is dead? Wow, I'm out of the loop.
- DraxusD, on 07/25/2008, -0/+4You're joking right?
- speakafreaka, on 07/25/2008, -1/+5She should be lucky.. queen of the damned was one of the few movies ive ever walked out on. her performance was embarrassing to say the least
- pe5t1lence, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Aaliyah was an actress? Wait. I mean "Aaliyah counts as an actress?"
- KalebS, on 07/25/2008, -2/+5the lee curse!
- destron, on 07/25/2008, -0/+12Isn't River Phoenix Jauqoin Phoenix's brother?

- imcybersmart, on 07/25/2008, -3/+31 digger who never saw this page because it is down; me
- loopyloopy, on 07/25/2008, -1/+4i've thought in the past few months there's something slightly eerie about the Brandon Lee/Heath Ledger makeup connection
- happycat, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2I remember when I first saw pics of the Joker I thought they were really trying to make him look like Brandon Lee in The Crow.
- ahawks, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Meh, unless you actually make it to retirement, you're always going to die in the middle of some project.
Actually, even after you retire, odds are that you will have *something* you wish you'd gotten to see through to completion. Your children's wedding, your first grand child, or hell maybe even your grand child's wedding or offspring.- DraxusD, on 07/25/2008, -0/+3Yeah but for most people it's not a project that features them personally and will be seen by many millions of other people.
- Chainheart, on 07/25/2008, -4/+3*trite comment moaning about seeing story mentioning Heath*

- WhoDoneIt, on 07/25/2008, -2/+5And why didn't all you Heath fans digg stories about him after he filmed Brokeback Mountain?
He was up for an Oscar then for his highly acclaimed performance in that role.
Oh, that's right. It was about being gay and falling in love with another man.- slurba, on 07/25/2008, -0/+0Or I didn't see the movie.
- BOFH2, on 07/25/2008, -1/+9324 C++ coders who died before their programs were released. It is just as ridiculous.
- Tbab, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3Ok, this ***** is wildly out of control. This is getting to be like that one guy whose family got stranded in his car in the middle of the winter, so he went walking for like 15 miles then froze to death. Something Lee, I don't remember. The "hero" that everyone talked about way too much.
Ok, so the movie was decent. The Joker was well played. Heath died. That sucks. Now move on. You people are obsessive.- Sazafraz, on 07/25/2008, -1/+1Digg users obsessive????

***** stories about Heath ledger. - MustyBuckets, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2Chris Farley lived to see Beverly Hills Ninja, and he hated the movie, I heard he actually cried because it was so horrible. I double checked with IMDB, he died in December of 1997, The movie came out in January of 1997; So it was almost a year before he died.
- TheMachine1, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1I liked that movie.
