- TobiasParker, on 11/12/2009, -3/+91The Mighty Ducks owns. This guy is retarded.
- RonADiSH, on 11/12/2009, -4/+73Ace Ventura 2 - still funny
- longbraker, on 11/12/2009, -1/+61The Mighty Ducks is still, and always will be, awesome. This author is such a cake-eater.
- kiiwii, on 11/12/2009, -0/+38This list sucks.
The Mighty Ducks as the thumbnail?
The Wizard?! I watched this a few months back and it's still awesome. - eastwood24, on 11/11/2009, -0/+33One thing that was cool about the Wiz was that you got to see a sneak peak at Super Mario Brothers 3. At the time, I thought it was a big deal.
- SpazAttack5000, on 11/11/2009, -1/+30Hey leave Pauly Shore alone, I actually liked Biodome.
- Lucas123, on 11/11/2009, -1/+29Pauly Shore. I forgot he even existed.
- Apex3, on 11/12/2009, -1/+25Mighty Ducks and 3 Ninjas are pure win. Surf Ninjas is pretty awesome too, forgot about that movie.
- djnikadeemas, on 11/12/2009, -0/+23Encino Man was the *****!
Weeze the juice! Bud-dy! - heasby, on 11/12/2009, -0/+23Agreed. This one doesn't belong in the list at all. The list is a lie.
- bobhopeisgod, on 11/11/2009, -0/+18Hmmm... DARYL is still a good movie in my view. Sure it's not exactly realistic, but c'mon. How many other 80's movies were? As far as the snide comment about "In case you were wondering why Jim Carrey will never win an Oscar", pretty low blow considering he later was in movies such as Truman Show, Majestic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Actors like him keep getting related to their earlier films while ignored for their mature later films. Will Smith is also top on my list for this. Always shake my head when people say that "he plays the same role in all his movies" as I think of Legend of Bagger Vance, Pursuit of Happyness, and Seven Pounds.
- madcaps1980, on 11/12/2009, -0/+16As a kid, I remember watching The Wizard in the theaters and freaking out when I saw Mario Bros. 3, I couldn't wait for this game to be released.
I agree with most people here, this list sucks. - dafragsta, on 11/12/2009, -1/+17I totally disagree with the Ace Ventura 2 thing. That one was probably funnier than the first one. The clip is definitely the funniest part though.
- JakeBC, on 11/12/2009, -1/+17None of these were from my childhood. I grew up with movies like Willy Wonka, The Bad News Bears, Herbie The Love Bug, Tron and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. All of which are still awesome...with the possible exception of Herbie...
- inactive, on 11/12/2009, -3/+17***** this author,
Little Monsters is ***** clutch.
And Pauly Shore was ***** awesome in "In the Army Now" - teamr, on 11/12/2009, -0/+12how could you forget bio dome?!
- wolferz, on 11/12/2009, -0/+11By trying really really hard
- growvideos, on 11/11/2009, -2/+13Dugg because it mentioned Pauly Shore being number 15.
- DjBearPDX, on 11/12/2009, -0/+10The plot to Rain Man + Nintendo games = Epic win!
- misternils, on 11/12/2009, -2/+12that trailer for surf ninjas is actually really still pretty fresh.
- kevro, on 11/12/2009, -1/+10In the army now...FTW.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kJTExeEuWU - TrendyTim, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9Thats what i yelled at the monitor when i read that, there is a reason its the only sequel that jim carey has done to one of his own films (as far as im aware)
- RobotBuddha, on 11/12/2009, -0/+9It's super mario 3! It's still a big deal. It might very well be the best video game ever made.
- stunner21, on 11/12/2009, -2/+11Ace Ventura films = awesome
- bob_the_alien, on 11/12/2009, -0/+7and it told you were the first warp zone was, which was awesome... and regardless I still like half these movies, this list is dumb.
- gaqua, on 11/12/2009, -0/+7Nope. You're off base here. Hipsters like everything that sucks in an ironic way. A few years back it was trucker caps and Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Then it was nautical star tattoos on their elbows and swallows on their collarbones.
A couple years ago that switched to NES scenester t-shirts (and for the more daringly stupid, NES tattoos like the Legend of Zelda "life hearts" on their chest) and old video game and other 80s and early 90s crap.
20 years from now, the kids being born in the 00s will be getting t-shirts with "ironic" album covers of Mariah Carey, American Idol winner tattoos, and a belt buckle in the shape of the Master Chief's helmet with the text "OLD SCHOOL" in Halo font underneath it.
Ironic mustaches are cool in a creepy way, though. - LBUCHA, on 11/11/2009, -0/+6Mac and Me was one of my favorites. And Vice Versa could be any switcheroo movie
- louie10, on 11/12/2009, -1/+7Ace Ventura? Really? This article was definitely written by a moron.
- OldNumber7, on 11/12/2009, -0/+6I want that Halo belt buckle now.
- Animan351, on 11/12/2009, -0/+6List sucks IMO. About 1/3 of these movies still kick ass.
Little Monsters Under the Bed will be seen by my children for sure. - velveetaavenger, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5"I never realized how ridiculous it was that a bunch of kids thought some guy who drives on the ice with a limo was a common drug dealer."
So if it sounded fine to you as a kid, why would you expect the kids in the movie to think differently? - ROBO1OCTOPI, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5Surf Ninjas was and still is the greatest movie of all time. Kwantsu Dudes.
- Stavrosian, on 11/12/2009, -1/+6Buried for thinking that D.A.R.Y.L. and Mighty Ducks are anything but genius.
- dafragsta, on 11/12/2009, -2/+7"For all the hipster appeal this movie has (Old Nintendos! Jenny Lewis!), it's still impossible to hide the fact that it's really, really bad"
OK, that's it. This article is written by a moron. Hipsters don't like old Nintendo *****. That's for nerds like me. - broke186, on 11/12/2009, -1/+6Even now, I would still consider watching it from that trailer.
- yacks, on 11/12/2009, -1/+6Pauly Shore is Dead.
- jimbolla, on 11/12/2009, -0/+5"Excuse me, your balls are showing. Bumblebee Tuna."
- GoFishDino, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4money can't buy knives
- StarWarsFever, on 11/12/2009, -1/+5Frak That. Did you know that our own Saul Tigh is the father in The Peanut Butter Solution? Best Ever
- abkaf, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4...with the intent to kill some unsuspecting kids to establish his dominance on the turf. They don't make movies this absurd anymore, they just root them in a world of fantasy were anything and everything are to be expected. Difference between a kid who grew up in the early 90's and now. Kid from the early 90's will be a jive talkin, scrappy underdog who believes he can overcome any obstacle with a pure heart and sweet montage. Kid from now will... I don't know yell jibberish at his broom while he waves a stick around like a maniac only to give up and run into the forest, where he'll cry for a dreamy vampire to come and make everything all better.
- alsazen, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Not sure what age their readers are, but quite a few of these movies were came after my childhood!
That said, most of them are still good - Little Monsters and Vice Versa I saw recently and enjoyed them both, and I recently picked up Solar Babies on DVD, will have to watch it soon :) - inactive, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Can I PLEASE whittle wood with you?
- crescentfreshld, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4That list totally made me want to re-watch Ernest Scared Stupid. Not sure how I feel about that.
- ossmanns, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4'The Peanut Butter Solution' is the most ridiculous, f'd-up movie ever made for kids...and no, that's not hyperbole. Damn Canadians.
- sat0shi, on 11/12/2009, -0/+4Agreed. In an age without the internet seeing something like that IN ACTION that you had no idea even existed (at least, I didn't until I saw the movie) was really amazing. All I could think about after seeing that movie was Super Mario Bros. 3 and I can still remember to this day when I got the game and played it just like I saw in the movie. Huge part of my childhood.
- 99Casimir, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3There is not a single bad Ernest movie, they're all suppose to be corny. And how could he love Ernest goes to camp and not love Ernest goes to jail.
- airmann90, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3Who?
- inactive, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3"It's pretty much a gigantic advertisement for Nintendo with a bad plot and terrible writing"
Which is why we love it! - goomba323, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3I haven't even seen most of the movies on the list, but the fact that he says Ace Ventura 2 and Mighty Ducks don't stand the test of time, HOW CAN I TRUST HIM!?!??!
- antdude, on 11/12/2009, -0/+3You're old. :) I only remember Willy Wonka (first movie without Johny Depp), Herbie, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
