- user24, on 07/06/2009, -1/+55It's a shame there weren't any matrix sequels.
- rjshatz, on 07/06/2009, -0/+40Evil Dead II, in my opinion, far surpassed the original.
- ninzo09, on 07/06/2009, -15/+55Transformers sucks regardless
- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -2/+3615 DVDs I Found Under My Bed (Some of Which Are Sci-Fi, But They Are Mostly Horror or Super Heroes)
- paradigmx, on 07/06/2009, -0/+30Pitch Black is great
- walruspanzer, on 07/06/2009, -1/+24I don't think the Dark Knight was necessarily Science Fiction. Some of the technology is feasible right now.
- Balanced, on 07/06/2009, -0/+23I liked Pitch Black. Chronicles of Riddick was weird because it seemed like a weird switch from a very gritty hard-sci-fi-ish setting to a much more fantastic space opera-ish over-the-top setting.
- PixelMagic, on 07/06/2009, -0/+23Ah, Kirk, my old friend, do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish best served cold? It is very cold...in space.
- bicyclethief, on 07/06/2009, -1/+22KAAAAAAAAHN
- WilD9, on 07/06/2009, -0/+21Really, it had such promise.
- acdcfanbill, on 07/06/2009, -1/+22Pitch Black is great, but Riddick is also great for completely different reasons.
- ghidorahnotweak, on 07/06/2009, -0/+17What about Highlander 2?! Just kidding.
- jawbreaker4fs, on 07/06/2009, -0/+17Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey
- MNorton17, on 07/06/2009, -0/+17Back to the Future 2 has one of the best cliffhangers ever.
- telepwn, on 07/06/2009, -0/+17one advantage the Star Trek and Iron Man sequels have is directors who aren't totally retarded
- tallguyg, on 07/06/2009, -3/+19Just needed to see Empire Strikes Back on that list.
And a big fat NO to Blade 2 and Chronicles of Riddick. But I'm probably the only person on this planet who actually liked Pitch Black - physicsguy89, on 07/06/2009, -0/+15I looked upon this site just to make sure Khan was there. I was pleased.
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!
"You are, and always shall be, my friend." Gets me every time. - Pulsedriv3r, on 07/06/2009, -3/+18They say that as if Transformers 1 was any good.
- charliejane, on 07/06/2009, -0/+11Actually, we didn't see that post until you just pointed it out. Weirdly enough, stuff goes up on the internet that we don't notice, every now and then.
- W1LS0N, on 07/06/2009, -3/+14I'm sick of people saying that transformers 2 was worse than the first one. They were both totally ridiculous and stupid, and both very enjoyable. Sometime's it's like people think the first one had a plot as gripping and moving as the shawshank redemption.
- smartnerd666, on 07/06/2009, -0/+9Your counting could use some work. Even if you don't count Robocop 2, it should read 14, since the article has 15 movies.
- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -0/+9WHO RUNS BARTER TOWN!?
- bigd063, on 07/06/2009, -1/+10Spiderman needed glasses because his improved vision was one of his powers.
- gmtwilight, on 07/06/2009, -2/+10Sweeeeet... io9 ripped from MSN: http://paralleluniverse.msn.com/photos/movies/succ ...
- jawbreaker4fs, on 07/06/2009, -0/+8Whoa! The author of an article commented digg. Cool.
- Soniti, on 07/06/2009, -0/+8The CIA used to have a program for getting it's agents out of hot spots called "Sky Hook", we could look into that.
- TracerMan, on 07/07/2009, -0/+8"Did not know who he was ***** with" - Riddick
TOO badass! - ShoggothDreams, on 07/06/2009, -0/+7Niiiiiiiiice!!! Well played, User24!
That was one of MY favorite XKCD, too! - bytor4232fb, on 07/06/2009, -1/+8Hm. Everyone here is panning the Chronicles of Riddick, but I really enjoyed that movie, especially the directors cut. Vin Diesel is great, but Karl Urban was so awesome he almost stole the movie.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/06/2009, -0/+7A lot of these are more "Action/Comic Book" than "Science Fiction"
- OrqwithVagrant, on 07/07/2009, -1/+8The Joker wasn't telling Dent the truth, he was saying what he needed to say to manipulate Dent into a certain state of mind. Virtually everything The Joker says and does throughout the whole movie is of this nature; very rarely can anything he says be taken at face value - it's all about provoking the responses and reactions that he wants. If you missed that, I think you missed a major point of both the character and the movie.
- paulvq, on 07/06/2009, -0/+6Whether or not you think it's overrated, did it utterly suck?
- ShingoEX, on 07/07/2009, -0/+6I stopped reading once it hit Robocop 2. You have got to be kidding me...
- Galgum, on 07/06/2009, -0/+6Kneel before Zod.
- TrevorBradley, on 07/06/2009, -0/+6That's it.. get ready to KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!
- Popninety, on 07/07/2009, -1/+6besides the whole cell phone vision....
- Neiby, on 07/06/2009, -1/+6Wrath of Khan should not count as a sequel either. The first movie sucked so bad, it shouldn't even count.
- DannoSpeaks, on 07/06/2009, -1/+6I almost dugg, but instead I stabbed myself in my hand:
"All the cool ideas in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles get there start here."
IT'S THEIR!!! - jeremymccurdy, on 07/07/2009, -0/+5Pretty much half of what the Joker says in The Dark Knight are flat out lies, that was part of his character.
- jamangold, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5I got my information from the title that the submitter erroneously put on the article. Well played, sir.
- dsmx, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5Yeah so many directions they could of gone with the sequels, but alas we shall never see them.
- Ceaser57, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5The one with the cruse ship? You're kidding right?
- TobiasParker, on 07/06/2009, -1/+6Real journalists take plagiarism seriously, and respond in kind.
On a note to the author: Peter Parker had to wear glasses in the first movie before he was bitten. When he wakes up the next day he puts his glasses on, only to find he doesn't need them. So when he was losing his powers, he naturally has to start wearing them again. - jeremymccurdy, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4I'm no fan of Vin Diesel, but I thought Chronicles of Riddick was actually pretty good, I was hoping they would move forward with a sequel to it liked they had originally planned.
- SystemicThought, on 07/06/2009, -5/+9I did not care for Blade II.
- FurryToaster, on 07/06/2009, -1/+5Predator 2. Danny Glover and Gary Busey ... 'nuff said.
- benroy, on 07/06/2009, -2/+6Since when does Superman II NOT suck? Sure, it was great when I was a kid, but that movie was pretty retarded.
- TracerMan, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5Pitch Black, however, was pretty kick ass.
- th3wiz4rd, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3Buried for a horrible taste in movies... with a couple of exceptions, almost all of those sucked at least equally as bad as the originals.
- superkane, on 07/07/2009, -0/+312 - 15 science fiction movie sequels that don't utterly suck
