- barney74, on 08/27/2009, -0/+23Col Hans Landa by far is the weirdest, most sociopathic, the devil incarnated as mad genius that I have ever seen in a film.
- RudeTurnip, on 08/27/2009, -1/+22Ooooh, I have a bingo!
- indubitably, on 08/27/2009, -0/+19Easily the best actor? You did see Christopher Waltz play Col. Hans Landa, didn't you?
- dougm68, on 08/27/2009, -0/+16"Bring the lady a glass of milk."
gave me chillz. - Irishsmurf, on 08/27/2009, -0/+16Everytime I hear 'Stuck in the middle with You' I cant help but to remember that scene.
Every ***** time. - drivingalone, on 08/27/2009, -0/+13So you're saying that's not how it happened?
- noisician, on 08/27/2009, -0/+13yeah, this list is missing lots of wild characters from non-Tarantino films. what gives?
- Vermifax, on 08/27/2009, -0/+9That was more of a Robert Rodriguez thing...
- JellyFish62, on 08/27/2009, -0/+8It's a bingo!
- tonytroz, on 08/27/2009, -0/+8If only there was some kind of category to label movies that aren't true but are still wildly entertaining... maybe we should call it "fiction".
- BeShirtHappy, on 08/27/2009, -1/+8Elle Driver - FTW. I haven't seen Inglorious Basterds, yet...
- JillieG, on 08/27/2009, -0/+7Mia Wallace is such a badass!
- CutterXYZ, on 08/27/2009, -0/+711. Virgil (James Gandolfini).

*whips out big-ass pipe* - inkubusfan, on 08/27/2009, -0/+6srsly. I couldn't stop myself from whispering out loud in the theater "you *****"
- MontagGuy, on 08/27/2009, -1/+7This list is incomplete without Bruce Willis' character from The Man From Hollywood segment of Four Rooms.
- tonytroz, on 08/27/2009, -0/+6I can understand you subjectively siding with Pitt on the entertaining aspect (most people can't get over the good vs. evil thing, even when the movie is pointing you towards liking the "bad guy"), but Christoph Waltz might end up with an Oscar Nomination.
- Kojangie, on 08/27/2009, -0/+5You people were just waiting for someone like me to say something ignorant like that weren't you.
- Vermifax, on 08/27/2009, -0/+5I just found this! I had no idea this scene existed:

I need to fin the complete, uncut version of "True Romance'! Tarantino genius! - Vermifax, on 08/27/2009, -0/+4I also nominate Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman), Virgil (James Gandolfini) & Floyd (Brad Pitt) from Tony Scott's "True Romance", as well as Mickey Knox (Woody Harrelson), Mallory Knox (Juliette Lewis) & Det. Jack Scagnetti (Tom Sizemore) from Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers".
Tarantino created all of these characters so, they qualify.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY3Q6SlXmZY - Namco, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3Deathproof starts off slow, then explodes for the second half. The only reason why Deathproof starts off slow is to calm the audience down a bit and draw you in after the explosive finale of Planet Terror. It's a damn shame that the studio chopped Grindhouse into two releases.
But anyway, Deathproof is one of my favorite movies of all time, let alone Tarantion movies. - everlast88, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you. Steeler's Wheel FTW.
- ccbbb23, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3Jeez. What a hard list to do well.
I agree with most of this list. I would not want to know or even meet Louis, O-Ren, Mr. Blonde, California Mountain Snake, or Stuntman Mike. Mia, Mr. Pink, Marcus, Max, and Hans would not be too scary or too wild to meet over coffee. The others, wildness.
But this is the problem, they have Mr. Blond and Mr. Pink, but they don't have Mr. White. So, is it that Mr. White is not wild or is too controlled? If that is the yard-stick, why do we have both Jules and Max? Jules is a character in control. He is certainly not Marcellus or The Wolf, but he is isn't as loose as Vince. Max is much more in control than Ordell.
I know, I know. The title of this slideshow should be:
Quentin Tarantino's Wildest Characters: No Repeats - azizrulez, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3rose mcgowan
- inactive, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3***** that.
Where is HUGO STIGLITZ?! - mlvassallo, on 08/27/2009, -0/+3If you are going to pick a True Romance character, ***** Virgil. Drexl Spivey would be my choice.
- Eupatorus, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2Jackie Brown is the *****. Highly underrated Tarantino flick. Watch it.
Deathproof is worth checking out. It worked much better theatrically as the second half of Grindhouse though. First movie I've been to the theatre to see where the audience applauded at the end.
Splitting the Grindhouse into 2 films for the DVD release really weakened both films and killed the whole "old school" feel Tarantino and Rodriguez were going for. Deathproof has like 45 minutes of added footage. Mostly boring dialogue to a movie that was already composed of mostly dialogue. Stuntman Mike is a great character and the action in the movie does deliver in the ways only Tarantino can deleiver. It's no Kill Bill, but it is Tarantino. - thcobbs, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2Also, what was up with the pictures.... its like they went back to 1999 picture compression so their ads could serve faster.
- inactive, on 08/27/2009, -1/+3the one in the robert rodriguez half of Grindhouse?
- dshPls, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2I just watched Jackie Brown 2 days ago, it's definitely a good movie with some classic Samuel L Jackson badassness.
- tooker, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2Tarantino was a pretty messed up dude as Richard Gecko in 'From Dusk til Dawn'. Even Clooney's character was pretty bad ass.
- EarthernJar, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2I'll digg that, but I would have picked Gary Oldman as Drexel from the same.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uQFm-Lfcqo - Eupatorus, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2No idea. I heard he uses Bowie for the climactic finale so.... it's probably badass.
- Namco, on 08/27/2009, -1/+3The article suggests that you should stay away from these types of characters if you were to meet them in real life, but all but 3 of them are dead.
- thepicklebot, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2That's it, I have to watch Jackie Brown! Is Deathproof worthwhile though?
- Kbriggs, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2Don't know why your getting dug down. I completely forgot about that guy until you mentioned it.
- richlw, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2I think so
- lisaawesome, on 08/27/2009, -0/+2If you're on Demonoid they've got the "Tarantino cut" of True Romance on there. It's awesome.
- lambchoppe, on 08/28/2009, -0/+1I've always loved Samuel L. Jackson's very tiny role in that movie. Makes me laugh everytime I think of it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6fG6w1z658 - Vermifax, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1Near Edmond. Not Quite. South of Memorial Rd. Just moved from MWC.
BTW, I think I need some sort of an invite for Demonoid. - Namco, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1Should be titled Quentin Tarantino's Most Complex Characters
- thepicklebot, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1Best review I've heard so far! Down side for us, was we never got the original version in the UK, never saw Grindhouse as it should be
- mingohills, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1Clarence Worley!!!!
- thepicklebot, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1You have well and truly convinced me to watch it! Heard so many snobby reviews I avoided it when it was out. Now I have to convince my wife it's a good idea...
- lisaawesome, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1I've lived down on Memorial before but I'm in far North Edmond now (right down the road from felony flatts). Message me on my Myspace (link in profile) and I'll send you an invite code.
- Namco, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1Zoe Bell !!!
- PierreLeDouche, on 08/28/2009, -0/+1BONJOURNO !
- thepicklebot, on 08/27/2009, -0/+1I was never sure if it was worth watching, good to hear a recommendation. The opening scene is really good as far as I remember
