- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+33I can only assume you meant 'terribly awesome'.

“Frank Cross” in Scrooged (1988)
“Grimm” in Quick Change (1990)
“Polonius” in Hamlet (2000)
“The Writer” from The Lost City (2005)
“Nick Kessler” in Next Stop, Greenwich Village (1976)
“Bob Wiley” in What About Bob? (1991)
“Wally Ritchie” in The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997)
“Tommy Crickshaw” in Cradle Will Rock (1999)
“John Bosley” from Charlie’s Angels (2000)
“Hunter S. Thompson” in Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) - EximiousPress, on 10/08/2008, -1/+25I got to meet Bill Murray (and Gina Davis) on the set of Quick Change. I was 11, Bill Murray was the funniest man in my world behind Steve Martin, and Gina Davis instantly became my first non-teen celebrity crush. It's nice to see it getting a little love here, most folks forget it ever existed.
- CoreyTamas, on 10/08/2008, -1/+25I haven't clicked the link yet, but if I see the word "Garfield" anywhere in this article, someone's getting a stabbing.
- Daxx22, on 10/08/2008, -2/+26"Error establishing a database connection"
Damn, never caught that one. - nkleffman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+222 weeks ago during the Austin City Limits festival we were out on 6th street and my friend was wearing the baby blue "Don't Hassle me I'm Local" shirt that Bob Wiley wears
And then, to our amazement, we see Bill Murray walking down 6th street with some hot chick in her twenties.
he's running after him, Bill Bill, look at the shirt!!!!
after trying to wave him off he stopped and looked at the shirt and had a good laugh.
it was the sweetest part of the trip, the stars were truly aligned that night. - Refluence, on 10/08/2008, -1/+23WHAT DID YOU DO, RAY?!
Server killed :( - SpectralSounds, on 10/08/2008, -0/+20Oh man. Groundhogs Day is a ***** classic. Down you go!
And this guy bagged on The Man Who Knew Too Little. Another great movie, although not as good as Groundhog Day. - brendoman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+19I'm Sailing!!!!!!!!!!
- HCviolence, on 10/08/2008, -1/+14Dugg for scrooged.
- Thorpe, on 10/08/2008, -3/+15No Rushmore?
- TheChunt, on 10/08/2008, -0/+12No KingPin?
I watch that movie JUST for Ernie McCracken.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci6YPGQedr0 - brendoman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+11You are completely insane. And why would you digg it for that?
- fictionalOne, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12Database Error was not one of his best movies.
- SuperJimmyJimbo, on 10/08/2008, -1/+10no, it says "underrated"
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9QUICK CHANGE rox!
- cleverhanz, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9Great movie. Funny, and a great bank robbery film.
"It's bad luck just seeing something like that." - geologist62, on 10/08/2008, -3/+11Meatballs and Stripes were classics and unmentioned.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+8The Man who knew to Little is criminally underrated. Everyone netflix it!
Stripes, Scrooged, What About Bob are obviously great and deserve to be on that list.
His work in Rushmore and Life Aquatic should have been nominated...Oscars '09! http://tinyurl.com/4xpwvt - Bone1205, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7Maybe his best role. Is this corn hand shucked?
- bdfariello, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7I just saw it. It wasn't very entertaining.
- brendoman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7Yes, they are classics. Which is why they are not underrated.
- twitrock, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7Life Aquatic! Steve Zissou rocks!
- twertyto, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7"The Razor's Edge" is a good film and he did a great job in it.
- leif77, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Broken flowers was great...
- hazard99, on 10/08/2008, -2/+8If Steve Zissou isn't here, heads will roll.
- pablopez, on 10/08/2008, -1/+7Groundhog day
- VitriolAndAngst, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Gina Davis was played perhaps the best spy character ever in The Long Kiss Goodnight;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long_Kiss_Goodnig ...
-- one of my favorite action pictures. And I had to re-evaluate her persona. - CraveEscobar, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6Loved Murray in Where the Buffalo Roam. Looking forward to the next HST-based film The Rum Dairy, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376136/
- Luciapalooza, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6why so harsh dude?
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Um, do people even know what UNDERRATED means?
I don't get how "Scrooged" or "What About Bob?" considering they were his lead roles and huge movies at the time.. I also see people listing "Lost in Translation", "Stripes", "Ghostbusters". WHY? How are those underrated?
This list might as well be renamed "Great Bill Murray movies that most people born after 1990 haven't heard about."
Underrated would be more like... his role as the crazy patient in "Little Shop of Horrors". - inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5I'm assuming you mean "Groundhog Day." Aaaaand, no, that movie was awesome. And so was the man who knew too little. Scrooged is my fave though.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5I thought Quick Change was hilarious
- ruforealz, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6Dugg for understanding the concept of "underrated" unlike some of these goddamn top ten lists.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Someone ought to make a list of top 100 murdered-by-digg severs.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4I loved it. To each their own I suppose.
- ncapone, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5It's dead, but is What About Bob in the list?
- BryanQ, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4Did anyone see his role in Coffee and Cigarettes (2004)? IMO it was excellent. For anyone who hasn't seen the movie it's multiple conversations with many characters over coffee and a smoke. Random at times; although, strangle cohesive in hindsight. I could honestly listen in to a conversation between Bill Murray, RZA and GZA all day.
- chocobomog, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Some families watch "It's a Wonderful Life" every Christmas. Mine watched "Scrooged", and we've done so every since the first Christmas eve we saw it in theaters. Definitely one of our favorite Bill Murray movies.
There's also Groundhog Day every February, but its not as big of a ritual as Scrooged. - Luciapalooza, on 10/08/2008, -4/+8here's my own top 10 (since the site is not working):
1. Quick Change
2. Rushmore
3. The Man Who Knew Too Little
4. Kingpin
5. Meatballs
6. Mad Dog and Glory
7. What About Bob
8. Scrooged
9. The Royal Tenenbaums
10. Stripes - moyerucsb, on 10/08/2008, -1/+5Damn that went down faster than the Dow this morning
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4WTF was the point of that?
- huskygeek, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4get smart, agent 13
who wants to talk to a guy in a tree? - azurechaos, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4not me, i thought it was beautiful. you say boring, i say atmospheric and lonely.
- rainydaywoman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3His book "Death Therapy" changed my life.
- jefuchs, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I re-watched Groundhog Day on Hulu recently. I remember when it was released I wanted nothing to do with it because I thought it would be a slapstick stupid movie. A few years later I caught it on TV, and didn't know what movie I was watching until I had been watching a while. I now think it's a great movie with real life lessons.
- fictionalOne, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Could only watch it once, but damn what a great soundtrack!
- leelu, on 10/08/2008, -2/+5His upcoming City of Ember looks like it could be a winner too.
- brendoman, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Totally agree. Definitely underrated, maybe so much so that the list author hasn't seen it.
