- Gillfactor, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4Clearly you don't understand the... concept.. of a concept car.

- christophelyon, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2About the Maybach laundelet : there is a real market for these cars, the parade cars of kings, presidents and other chiefs of states.
Nicolas Sarkozy has used a similar car for his first parade on the day he became president, but even more open than that with a retractable roof that also folds the lateral parts of the car, the - unique - Peugeot 607 Paladine :

i count seating for four... so i don't get what he's trying to say here. - ADHD, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1I understand its a waste of money
- inactive, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1I don't get the point of why most of these features are bad. In some cases I'm not even sure which feature is being discussed.

- halfgook, on 01/16/2008, -1/+2car companies DO spend time and money on fuel efficient cars. there are quite a bit of hybrid concepts. these concepts, however, are supposed to be porn for the car enthusiast. concepts aren't always meant to be practical.

- etnuts, on 01/25/2008, -0/+0WHY MAZDA WHY!!!??
why wont you make the furai!!?? - designerutah, on 01/16/2008, -0/+0Hmmm... why doesn't one of these companies produce a concept car that envisions as many practical innovations as possible in a certain type of car? Don't focus on the "ah cool, but impractical" stuff. Focus instead on the "wow, that solves a real problem, why hasn't anyone done this so well" type of stuff. For example, between the car body exterior and interior there are often large empty spots. On more expensive cars, these are filled with sound deadener. Why not put that space to use?
Or, on trucks, they have these huge bumpers in the back, only part of which is actual bumper. The rest is plastic molding designed for aesthetics and fuel efficiency. Why not stick in some container space for built in tools, plug-ins for power, emergency supplies, etc.
Stow-n-go seating is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Seats are kept in the floor, allowing tons of hauling room. Open the seats up, more room for the kids, but the space they took up in the floor becomes storage space. LED headlights to reduce power use and increase fuel efficiency. - Bizzies, on 05/22/2008, -0/+0http://digitalmediaplayer.wordpress.com http://smittybiltbumper.wordpress.com http://melissadougtoy.wordpress.com

Sure, it looks fine, and having the titanium-carbon-fiber Rossignols on the roof is just too risky these days. But where will the douchebag couple who spends the eight hours to Vermont talking about their trip to St. Bart's sit? Think about it.

- cchapman85, on 01/16/2008, -6/+2why do car companies make these random concept cars that seem to have little to no appeal by the general public... especially in a time when they are so strongly pushing fuel efficient vehicles.... couldn't they spend the time and money on making more fuel efficient cars?
- ADHD, on 01/16/2008, -9/+3Some of these concepts are interesting, like the clamshell trunk. but my question is why dont they just go ahead and instead of wasteing money on "concept" cars that will never hit the streets, why not take that money and save it in a bank. Then go create an electric car (again) and when your gas sponsors complain tell them to ***** off like the pricks they are as their bussiness dies and wait as money from half the population pools in because they dont want to hurt the enviroment and pay for gas.
In otherwords, ***** off with the concepts, give me a real ***** electric car you rich pansy *****! - inactive, on 01/16/2008, -7/+1I really dont know, thats why i panicked and wrote first before any one else could
