- virtualonliner, on 09/30/2009, -1/+32Dugg purely for F1.
- mwoerne, on 10/01/2009, -1/+18I believe you are confusing F1 and NASCAR
- TeeBaagz, on 09/30/2009, -1/+16If you don't care, don't post.
- Susaluda28, on 10/01/2009, -1/+9Dugg for digging F1!
- Gibletoid, on 09/30/2009, -1/+8The worst kept secret of the last two years has finally come front and centre.
Assuming Massa gets better, and can race F1 again, which looks the case at this point, I really want to see how the mentally strong Massa does when paired with Alonso, who is clearly quicker. - carbonfilament, on 10/01/2009, -1/+8As a huge ferrari fan, and a huge Kimi fan, This bites.
Can't be a coincidence that the two biggest controversies in F1 in the past 5 years, and the only two that involved sportsmanship rather than technical infractions, have been centered on Alonso. - ColinCampbell, on 10/01/2009, -2/+9You should care because Alonso is one of the most talented drivers on the grid (whatever you think of him as a person), and he's going to a storied and successful team, instead of driving for a team that struggles to place in the points. This should increase the competition at the top, and also create a great Alonso v Hamilton storyline if Ferrari can field a competitive car next year (did anyone watch Alonso and Hamilton in the pre-podium room after the Singapore GP? They despise each other). And Kimi will have something to prove.
- Grimlock82, on 10/01/2009, -1/+8Sooo... Kimi back to McLaren? Bye bye Kovalainen.
- MaxterICC, on 09/30/2009, -1/+7I gotta be an alonso fan now? Dammit Ferrari...
- Greg2k, on 10/01/2009, -1/+7Now all he needs to do is grow some balls and avoid getting a tantrum if Massa ends up being a better driver than he is. His hissy fits with McLaren were pathetic.
- mwoerne, on 10/01/2009, -1/+6intrepidia, that's fine that you don't care about auto racing, but about 600 million people watch F1 and have been waiting for this announcement for some time. This is very big news in the international sporting world, and I don't think you quite grasp that
- carbonfilament, on 10/01/2009, -1/+6nonsense-he was brilliant at Spa. You can't blame lack of car on lack of driver.
- sh0rtstop00, on 09/30/2009, -1/+5Alonso will have a great future in Ferrari
- mwoerne, on 09/30/2009, -2/+6Finally. I have been waiting for this announcement for about 9 months, as it has been an open secret in the paddock for some time. This is a very good move for Ferrari, and the 2010 season is shaping up for some great racing and rivalries. Lewis and Alonso will be like the good old days of Schumacher and Hakkinen, and with Kimi expected to partner Hamilton at Mclaren, let the games begin.
- Scagli3tti, on 10/01/2009, -1/+4I've always wondered why people cheer for specific teams in F1. Unless you have some sort of personal connection with one of the teams, why not just cheer for the team of your favorite driver? I was a huge Schumacher fan, so I cheered for Ferrari. Now I'm a huge Hamilton fan (lucky enough to see his win at the last USGP in '07), so I cheer for McLaren.
I'm obviously not judging or anything, but I am curious. - Joodtimes, on 10/01/2009, -1/+4I just threw up a little...
- sfajou, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2Well he is (or now was) Mark Webbers manager... but since Crashgate, well... read it for yourself:
"As regards Mr. Briatore, the World Motor Sport Council declares that, for an unlimited period, the FIA does not intend to sanction any International Event, Championship, Cup, Trophy, Challenge or Series involving Mr. Briatore in any capacity whatsoever, or grant any license to any Team or other entity engaging Mr. Briatore in any capacity whatsoever. It also hereby instructs all officials present at FIA-sanctioned events not to permit Mr. Briatore access to any areas under the FIA’s jurisdiction. Furthermore, it does not intend to renew any Superlicence granted to any driver who is associated (through a management contract or otherwise) with Mr. Briatore, or any entity or individual associated with Mr. Briatore. In determining that such instructions should be applicable for an unlimited period, the World Motor Sport Council has had regard not only to the severity of the breach in which Mr. Briatore was complicit but also to his actions in continuing to deny his participation in the breach despite all the evidence."

You already look dumb for asking a dumb question, and now you can't back up fast enough.
You like something or you don't, if you can't figure out why you don't care about something, how will screaming your question at the internet going to help?
Why I care.... becuase I like and follow F1.
Complicated huh? - Joodtimes, on 10/01/2009, -1/+3Dugg for diggers digging F1
- bigbadgoat, on 10/01/2009, -2/+4Good.
Kovalainen is a prime example of the difference between a good driver and a great driver is a great race car (last two seasons rather than this one) - Susaluda28, on 10/01/2009, -2/+3I gotta be a Ferrari fan now? Dammit Alonso...
- Joodtimes, on 10/02/2009, -0/+1I'm familiar with Briatore's ban. Not sure what you mean by your reply but he was also Kovalainen's manager too. Webber has shown he is a talented and capable driver however Kovalainen hasn't. This means that without having a supremely connected manager who has tons of influence in F1 circles, he really only has his prior performance to support his fight for a ride next year. A fight he'll probably lose since he's done ***** all.
- mwoerne, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2Intrepidia, I'm really not sure where you're going with this, but you look like a precocious *****. You should care because F1 is a fantastic sport, a true test of man and machine, of athlete and engineer. It is glamorous, exciting, and dangerous. That is why you should like it and care about it. Does that answer your question?
- Susaluda28, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2I'm not exactly a Ferrari fan, but I will be happy to see Alonso in what will hopefully be a championship winning car!
- JStraum, on 10/10/2009, -0/+1Kimi is bad ass but he's so dry as a bone. I wish Kimi could be more like Mika. Mika was always so funny with his broken english/finnish quips and chuckles!
- carbonfilament, on 10/01/2009, -2/+3your comment is weird to me.
You are aware there are two championships? and that many of the current teams have competed for decades? and that many of the others are born out of teams that have been around for years?
...just sayin. - Joodtimes, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2And it'll be even worse if Ferrari can actually build a decent car and be competitive.
- carbonfilament, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2Kimi LIKES WRC. Not the same.
- JStraum, on 10/10/2009, -0/+1I think Kimi is going back to McClaren - either that or he'll quit...he just doesn't seem to be too into it lately...
- Scagli3tti, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2I am aware of all those things, but my question still remains unanswered. If someone has a personal story of why they cheer for a specific team (regardless of drivers), that might be a bit more enlightening.
F1 is kind of in the middle for me because it's only teams of two, and teammates are competing against one another race by race. I would never root for a certain NFL team because my favorite player was on it, but I also would never root for a certain F1 team UNLESS one of my favorite drivers was on it. I guess the constructor's championship just doesn't have the same appeal to me. - absolutzombie, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2Watch Massa not be able to return from his injury, and Schumi become the second driver with Alonso.
- tecunx, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1Alonso may be surrounded by controversy, but nobody can take away the fact that he beat Schumacher twice and he beat him clean.
- Susaluda28, on 10/01/2009, -1/+2Yeah I like Lewis too, but I like Alonso more :P
- bigbadgoat, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Engineers love F1.
Hard not to. - Stemp, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Renault was a championship winning car ! Only not this year :P
- Infinitas, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Great, now I can go back to hating Ferrari.
Kimi, time to return WDC to McLaren. - yhdan, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1I love the new McLaren, and I'm looking forward to the new season.
- absolutzombie, on 10/01/2009, -2/+2Huge Kimi fan or not, he has been rubbish this year.
- Susaluda28, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Yeah good point, but I mean in the future :P
- jmcall, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1I thought Kimi is going into WRC?!
- Joodtimes, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Flavio was Kovalainen's only hope of staying in F1...now that he's gone...
- EMsean, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1Alonso deserves a reliable car.
I hope Kimi ends up somewhere good. Ferrari's reputation really rode on him this year. The F60 hasn't been updated for several races, and won't be this year, and Kimi's still put up good results. - mwoerne, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1what any of what means?
- chicagospur, on 10/01/2009, -1/+1I still think that Alonso is the mysterious Witness X...
- ScuderiaAlonso, on 11/13/2009, -0/+0Alonso will be at the ferrari world finals. Now just waiting to see if Kimi is confirmed at Mclaren since whiner-boy hamilton has been making his feelings known just how much he would like Kovalainen to stick around.
Alonso in a ferrari and Kimi is a Mclaren will be giving whiner-boy nightmares and wet pants through fear. XD
Scuderia-Alonso
http://www.alonso-planet.com - sangrilla, on 10/01/2009, -1/+0kimi may not like taking second seat to kovalainen. it will be interesting to see if he gets along with hamilton
- mwoerne, on 10/01/2009, -1/+0alan permane was witness X dude
- intrepidia, on 10/01/2009, -3/+1Aparently people can't read.... so be it... lol...
