- jserio, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5You guessed correct. Notice the firetruck and paramedics behind that police SUV at the end? They were they for support, that's all. Productions that large don't just go and film without permits - which often means local public safety (police, fire) presence.

My dad and his buddy own the 80 acre property together way back in the hills of Castaic. I was there all week for the building of it and they were trying to keep it a secret the whole time. I couldn't even invite my friends to come chill with me. But the cops didn't know anything about the shoot until they were called by someone on the day of the shoot. Whenever they heard that cops were on the way they seriously only got time for a few takes. The cops went crazy on my dad and his friend and were threatening to arrest them for being the property owners and not getting all the required permits. The best part is they tried bribing the cops with free gear and when they didn't go for that they tried to shoot another take with the cops there. Then the cops tried confiscating the cameras for not having proper permits and not listening to authority so they threw all the cameras in some Rhinos and took off into the hills and hid till the cops chilled out. End of story... no one got arrested or fined, but the filming was shut down early and they had to flatten the land back out the next day... but it was real. no acting haha
(the same cop ended up catching me riding in the hills a couple weeks later and gave me a trespassing ticket so i had to give him crap for being such a burn and ruining a sick shoot.) - svensko, on 11/11/2008, -3/+2Repost
