- IHaveIssues, on 02/16/2009, -17/+421It was cool when I posted it 2 days ago too:
http://digg.com/motorsport/Supercool_Video_Explain ... - Aceanuu, on 02/16/2009, -6/+295Hmm... that sounded like a legit "turbo" button in professional racing. I'm in.
- Snottlebocket, on 02/16/2009, -10/+141Ok turbo boosts, you got my attention. Bring on the weapon powerups and I'll actually watch.
- xXSheepyXx, on 02/16/2009, -7/+133MrBabyMan strikes again!
- albizu, on 02/16/2009, -4/+99HD Version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTkVKPdyWs0
- Ninjao, on 02/16/2009, -8/+89Finally! F1 is not only going to be watchable. It's going to be awesome!
- ripple123, on 02/16/2009, -7/+73what you need is a video of MrBabyMan being cut off at the knees by a f1 car.
- SasquatchBill, on 02/16/2009, -3/+62Then again, the word(?) "Supercool" is in your title.
- d3lta, on 02/16/2009, -18/+73uh oh, what to do... I like F1 but I don't like MrBabyMan.
- Nayson, on 02/16/2009, -1/+45Im sure there will be a rule where only Ferrari will be allowed to use the Blue Shell.
- gearhead364, on 02/16/2009, -1/+44I know mrbabyman saw it as a repost, I tried posting it a couple days ago and stopped once I saw it was already submitted, it seems some of us just ignore others post. He could just have easily digged their submission and bumped it with his popularity.
- boothash, on 02/16/2009, -0/+40You know the rules here on Digg... anything can make the front page, just as long as it is submitted by a power user.
- Larssonk22, on 02/16/2009, -0/+38I was very surprised to hear that. This is going to be a very very interesting season!
New flaps at the front a very cool, so what if the spoilers are ugly if everyone is going to start overtaking instead of just Hamilton, the races are going to be 10x more exciting not just the begining and end laps, theres a real reason to watch everything inbetween, and I'm all for it! - apmtt, on 02/16/2009, -0/+34I think everyone realises he didn't mean actual turbo.
- bigpun, on 02/16/2009, -1/+31Just to summarise, the main rule changes introduced in the 09 season are:
Spending caps on race teams (to try to increase the competitiveness of smaller teams)
Aerodynamic changes to the car - mainly a taller, narrower rear wing (to reduce down force) and a wider front wing - with driver adjustable front dynamics
KERS - a kinetic energy recovery system, allowing the car to use some of the otherwise wasted energy that's developed at the brakes
Slick tyres re-introduced
Engines now must last longer (only 8 engines per car per season)
RPM limited at 18k (down from 19k) - not too sure why this one was introduced
Should be an interesting season - mattharvey716, on 02/16/2009, -1/+26turbo boost? AWESOME
- JunkStar2k, on 02/16/2009, -0/+24Watch and learn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGUZJVY-sHo - nbcaffeine, on 02/16/2009, -0/+21I don't like the garbage that speed has become, but their F1 and sportscar coverage is decent. The other 160 hours of the week are terrible though.
- theghoul, on 02/16/2009, -2/+23Cool, but I think the Audi R8 CGI microsite is better
http://www.truthinengineering.com/r8/
Skip the intro and click "Start Now" - RandaII, on 02/16/2009, -7/+28***** mr baby man
- Bleue, on 02/16/2009, -4/+24Which got it from youtube perhaps?
Never understood why reddit and slashdot users think only one of the link submission sites should link any one site. This is like complaining to the new york times that the washington post already did that news story. Perhaps someone will explain the reasoning to me? - bjorna, on 02/16/2009, -2/+20I wouldn't call that simple CG, looks like really advanced CG to me
- mazurkfsflip8, on 02/16/2009, -2/+20***** Mrbabyman.
- shortydh76, on 02/16/2009, -1/+18Please put this race series on the big 3 networks.
- wiirdo, on 02/16/2009, -2/+18I thought I was playing Trackmania Nations.
- serif69, on 02/16/2009, -0/+16It's a space station
- IHaveIssues, on 02/16/2009, -0/+165 red lights go out. <sigh>
- RansomHoldiay, on 02/16/2009, -0/+16but McClaren will steal the intel...
- azureskies88, on 02/16/2009, -1/+16Everyone except you, apparently.
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -1/+15First race is 29th March in Australia.
- Joodtimes, on 02/16/2009, -0/+14F1 has always been the most watchable and enjoyable motorsport. Case in point is last years finale at Interlagos when the title was decided in the last few turns of the last lap. I hope these changes only make it better.
- azureskies88, on 02/16/2009, -4/+18You are thinking of NASCAR.
- Joodtimes, on 02/16/2009, -0/+13There are more less publicized rule changes that'll make the sport better. The dumb pitting rule when the safety car is out is gone. I imagine the decrease in RPM ties into the previous rule you mentioned...it'll increase the life of the engines.
- iZealot, on 02/16/2009, -0/+12well this story is a dupe from late last week. So I buried it.
- Richie311, on 02/16/2009, -0/+11Why the hell can't I be a F1 race car driver.
- IHaveIssues, on 02/16/2009, -2/+13I guess that's not my goal here i.e. to "game" the system to get to the front page. It's a diversion for me during my workday.
- jehanr, on 02/16/2009, -1/+12Now just to introduce some turtle shells...
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -3/+13That'd be Nascar champ, F1 races take place on real tracks.
- MakanGuru, on 02/16/2009, -1/+11I still personally think WRC is more entertaining and exciting although all these changes will without a doubt help F1. There "should" be more overtaking and hopefully more races like the last race of the season last year.
Oh yes, and a nice thank you to the guys who made the graphics for using Singapore and the backdrop for the little short. - ripple123, on 02/16/2009, -3/+13what, ones that curve left, AND right? crazy!
- knowitman, on 02/16/2009, -0/+9Why would someone who only watches NASCAR read the comments on this thread which is not about NASCAR at all?
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+9Simple, bury it and go digg the story he stole the submission from.
- logpony, on 02/16/2009, -4/+13Was he using a modified 360 controller to steer??
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+9depends on how many teams stays alive.
Honda is already out blamin the global economic crysis, and i think one other small team is out (dont remember which)
but this changes are definitely good thing, cant wait to see first race in australia - swanny89, on 02/16/2009, -1/+9No thank you.
- RansomHoldiay, on 02/16/2009, -1/+9it's never been awesome before 2009?
- Joodtimes, on 02/16/2009, -2/+9NASCARians would be wise to stay far away since their sport sucks so hard. Let's all drive in circles for hours!! Yay!!
- phoque, on 02/16/2009, -0/+7These are the obvious changes... But what about that new Safety Car rules? I dont get them...
- greatfloat, on 02/16/2009, -1/+8Do you really want those asshats from Fox doing even more races? I doubt it.
- projektmayhem, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6This year the license has changed to BBC, so we'll get all the great race coverage, but with no commercial interruption to the feed! God bless those Brits & their taxes...
