- galahan, on 12/07/2008, -0/+66This guy is better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwSbQw0YlPQ - redcodenl, on 12/07/2008, -0/+63Well, a proper driver will always apologize... like this:

(best "Sorry" ever!) - ClevelandBrown, on 12/07/2008, -0/+56If you listen closely, you can hear the poop sloshing in his pants as he starts to run.
- BitKid, on 12/07/2008, -0/+53Now this one is seriously burly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2bTjTduq_I - madpainter, on 12/07/2008, -4/+39Nerves of steel? I doubt it. This happened too fast. Even as he puts the camera up to his eye, I don't think the whole thing registered, then he looks through the viewfinder and it's like the light goes on. He stops photographing and runs over to help out. I'll give him credit for doing that.
- RedS0x, on 12/07/2008, -0/+32"HOW CLOSE WAS THAT"
Umm... well, I don't know! - SemiSarcastic, on 12/07/2008, -1/+28"How close was that?"
I dunno lets see it again...IN SLOW MOTION! - ItalianBongo, on 12/07/2008, -0/+25That guy is a champ. I would be scared as hell if that happened to me.
- KennMac, on 12/07/2008, -0/+25How about this one... a tree saves this guy's ass:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRoub_Ea6og&NR= ... - inactive, on 02/25/2009, -0/+17oh you beat me!
either ways, the guy has balls strong enough to fly a 747!
also, it almost seems like he knew the car was gonna crash into him even before the car actually started showing symptoms of moving towards his direction. Strange. I bet he has enough experience in this field and has encountered similar scenarios before. He is always on his toes. - SemiStable, on 12/07/2008, -0/+15The guy knew what he was doing. He obviously knew he was standing behind a wall strong enough to withstand a hit from a car, and that's why he moved behind it. Definitely nerves of steel but also some pre-planning on his part.
- DephexTwin, on 12/07/2008, -1/+15******
- FENWAYFREAK, on 12/07/2008, -3/+16He moved behind a barrier. No real way he could have gotten hit.
- BenLilly, on 12/07/2008, -0/+12What is the world motivated him to run across the car that is spinning towards the pole? He is either crazy or has balls of steel.
-I bet he was like, "oh yeah Frank? Top this!" - alankem, on 12/07/2008, -4/+15I would've ***** bricks.
- gllopc, on 12/07/2008, -0/+11And that's why we should plant trees.
- Impressa, on 12/07/2008, -0/+10Nerves of steel? More like balls of steel.
- sgtbutterscotch, on 12/07/2008, -3/+13shat*
- inactive, on 12/07/2008, -0/+10Driver isn't very good at splatter kills.
- fafaforza, on 12/07/2008, -0/+10I think they were using a new filming technique called "leave unattended camera on a ledge, or other supporting structure, while you go off to have a smoke, then review the tape afterwards, but if something happens, run back within, oh, 10 seconds to capture the aftermath."
- inactive, on 12/07/2008, -1/+10What are you jamming up yours making it LARGER than a penny?
- searcade, on 12/07/2008, -0/+9http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-FVhEOeC2k&fea ...
- inactive, on 12/07/2008, -3/+12I am sure he had skid marks on his undies though. The guy has brass balls for sure.
- karan1003, on 12/07/2008, -0/+9i love how he uses the car for support, and just as the car passes by, his knees go weak.
- merlinicorpus, on 12/07/2008, -1/+9What about the guy filming the crash? The car had to have ran directly into whatever he was standing behind. He obviously didn't run away considering the camera gets picked up and swung around within a few seconds.
- Cruelapollo, on 12/07/2008, -0/+7Use the controls on the player to turn slow motion on. It ain't perfect, but it works.
- maroon1872, on 12/07/2008, -0/+7he looks like hes moving out of the way of an old lady, not an out of control rally car.
"uups, well i'll let you slip by then" - protodon, on 12/07/2008, -1/+8Make sure you get that picture first!
- inactive, on 12/08/2008, -0/+7i liked his little jog near the end its like
"ohhhh ffuuuccckk...wait...wooo im the daddy!" - fafaforza, on 12/07/2008, -1/+8Mahybe if the car hit the barrier at a greater (more head-on) angle. But just swiping it? It was moving too fast for debris to reach him, really. He picked that spot for a reason, and smartly anticipated the event by slowly moving behind the cover of the block.
- maroon1872, on 12/07/2008, -2/+8do you see the flying shards of glass and body panels? and how close they are to ripping the front half of his body clean off?
- jason4188, on 12/08/2008, -0/+6That ***** happened so fast he didn't have time to be scared, by the time it was over what was the point in being scared it was over. I know that most people might not understand this concept. I spent a year in Iraq though and had bombs go off right beside my vehicle before. I was not scared because I had, "brass balls," I was not scared because it was done and over before I knew what the ***** happened. Big difference between that and bravery.
- spepin, on 12/07/2008, -1/+7Holy crap.
I would've ***** and pissed myself. - legoalert33, on 12/07/2008, -0/+6I would be looking for a new pair of pants if that was me.
- billbixby29, on 12/07/2008, -6/+12Rallycar bystanders are regular nominees for the Darwin awards. Thanks god they're not in the US, or these idiots would try to sue the drivers.
- brownsound00, on 12/07/2008, -0/+5that was ***** ridiculous...
- KennMac, on 12/07/2008, -0/+5Whether or not we think he was actually safe, the photographer seemed fully confident that the barrier offered plenty of protection. He clearly steps behind it and then remains there almost like it was a bunker. Crazy.
- muleskinner, on 12/07/2008, -2/+7I'd say he probably didn't have time to register just how ***** close that was. That's why he initially pulled the camera up for pictures, but then realized what had happened and ran to help.
- smilf, on 12/07/2008, -0/+5You could tell the car was going to swerve right as it landed. Pretty sure he picked his spot with the chance of getting hit in mind too.
- Spytap, on 12/07/2008, -1/+5Shatner.
- superkendall, on 12/07/2008, -0/+4The guy who was actually running the video camera gets a lot more credit my book, he was out in the open and not tucked behind a solid concrete structure. If that car hadn't been deflected...
You know there's someone there since the camera shifts right after the crash to look at the car. - ashrafneo, on 12/07/2008, -2/+6I bet his ***** puckered up to the size of a penny
- narius, on 12/07/2008, -0/+4He definitely looked experienced in his field by his positioning. He seemed to purposely put himself next to that concrete wall while waiting, and as soon as the car showed signs of swerving close to him he immediately moved to the edge of the wall protecting himself from the car. Looks like he knows what he's doing, and almost seems like he's done it before, because it was all so casual.
- crimsonkage, on 12/08/2008, -0/+4Wow the way that car decelerated looks very weird. It must have alot of composites in it or thats just one awesome tree.
- DeathToaster, on 12/07/2008, -2/+6Fly a what? I don't get it.
- jj101, on 12/07/2008, -0/+4This is when I want HD too.
- Lunarbunny, on 12/07/2008, -2/+6I think rally officials are advised to find a solid object, such as a wall or tree, to shield themselves from wayward cars.
Another example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gYjkL_584M - inactive, on 12/08/2008, -0/+3Besides the fact that he was protected by the concrete wall, he knew the risk of working in that type of environment. Much like a firefighter able to stand on the roof of a burning building or steelworker able to walk on a steel beam miles up with the minimum safety equipment.
- haobaba1, on 12/07/2008, -0/+3He may be in need of a nut bra http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVu62n0ooq8
