- zyklon, on 02/13/2009, -4/+39In other news, Micheal Phelps drowns in bathtub.
But seriously, professionals messing up something slight different from their profession is totally normal. - Suspected, on 02/13/2009, -8/+39Please be sure to update us on any more trivial accidents.
- joeboy70, on 02/13/2009, -4/+33he's human after all then.
- zenerdiode, on 02/13/2009, -3/+30Needs two more wheels
- pokmuk2, on 02/13/2009, -2/+20What is more important that Michael Schumacher is fine
- z987k, on 02/13/2009, -0/+17if you ride at all, you go down. It's just a fact.
- wyrdness, on 02/13/2009, -0/+15Even the very best professional motorbike racers crash too.
This really is a non-news story. - inactive, on 02/13/2009, -1/+12He was testing a cbr1000 on a racetrack... Have you ever even been on a track? I know guys that have ridden their entire lives on the street and binned it the first time out on a track......I've been riding my entire life and i've binned it a number of times on the track....
- kamisama, on 02/13/2009, -0/+8Slight, I wouldn't call 2 wheels less "slight" :)
A motorbike is an entirely different animal compared to cars. - mst3kcrow, on 02/13/2009, -1/+8Those banana peals Yoshi throws will get ya.
- MikeyMoose, on 02/13/2009, -1/+8Why? The Chicken*#$%er has been in plenty of accidents - broke his leg in one and deliberately caused many others...
Buried for "Who gives a $hit...?" - inactive, on 02/13/2009, -0/+6well he is gonna need his speed once in a while
- N00F, on 02/13/2009, -0/+6Just goes to show, there are two kinds of rider. Those who have put their bike down and those who will. (a rider for 25 years)
- davidhasselhoff, on 02/13/2009, -0/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DnkTmUqokw
wrong!
the man has skills. - inactive, on 02/13/2009, -0/+5When you have won seven WDCs and are possibly the most successful race car driver the world have ever seen, sure. We will gladly give you an article on the front page. Until then you are just another whiney ***** that should probably stick with a car since a bike is just going to lead to you hurting yourself. Oh yeah, you'll also need to be riding on a track in a controlled environment at 120 mph.
- breakaway, on 02/13/2009, -4/+9Just because that tool can drive a car well don't mean he can ride a bike well.
- inactive, on 02/13/2009, -1/+6Breakaway, that's the entire purpose for riding on a track......How else does one increase their "limit"? I'd much rather bin it while practicing on an approved course with full gear than bin it on a public road needlessly endangering the lives of others and most likely breaking the law.
I ride fast on the track so I don't have to on the street. - cawpin, on 02/13/2009, -0/+5It was on a ***** racetrack while testing a bike. The headline is completely misleading.
- MeatPlow, on 02/13/2009, -1/+5and flames.
- foss3, on 02/13/2009, -0/+4that's true to a point. what you can't control are other motorists and vehicles and nature. chances are you will probably be in some type of accident and since you're on a bike you're going to hit the pavement. just be prepared.
- wyrdness, on 02/13/2009, -0/+4It's a British newspaper article. Over here we call them 'motorbikes', and consider 'motorcycle' to be an old-fashioned term.
- TechboyUK, on 02/13/2009, -1/+5So he had a minor accident while playing about with a bike on a track...
This isn't newsworthy. BURIED! - dlan4327, on 02/13/2009, -1/+5Remember when he commandeered that Taxi? He was late for a flight so he took the taxi.
Then he practically flew to the airport. That was great. Wishing him a speedy recovery. - Danltn, on 02/13/2009, -0/+4What the *****?
- vilago, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3i've seen a lot worse. the public conception about motorcycles and safety is ironic
- FXNGLAS, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3I've been on the street since 11/06 with a 600RR and never went down (knocks on wood.) It's all about how responsible and smart you are when it comes to riding.
- FXNGLAS, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3I agree with what you guys are saying too. I'd definitely rather bite the bullet doing something I love instead of having a heart attack on the can or something else less interesting.
- inactive, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3No you aren't... Try doing something closer to "fahrt er keine Automobile?" even though that really just says 'drive he no automobiles'. What you said is pretty much "I am not automobile?".
- Frixionburne, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3Jeremy Clarkson would have a field day with this happening. Too bad season 13 doesn't start for a while still.
- goerg, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3indeed
- paulf2k, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3You obviously have never been on a motorcycle or a track...or you are immune to the effects of gravity
- syda, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3Schumacher rides a Honda CBR and not a BMW?? Whoa. Makes me feel better about my crappy Yamaha.
- inactive, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3Well that's only 2 years and change. Give it a decade or so, I think that's what z987k meant... I don't even ride, but my sister is a therapist and I have a few friends who are doctors, they got some pretty nasty stories on bikers.
But its all about passion I guess... we can't all live out our lives on a couch eh? - GiJoeBob, on 02/13/2009, -0/+3Thanks!
- drunkenoaf, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2He crashed a Fiat van into some guy's fence in England recently, injuring that guy in the process. The guy couldn't believe his eyes!
- hfactor, on 02/13/2009, -3/+5Yeah, buried for being celebrity BS.
- inactive, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2he's been doing German Superbike Championships since he retired F1 in 2006.

When you see it.
You'll ***** bricks - digggggggggg, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2I've been riding my r6 for about as long as you have, and after I got rear ended last fall, I'm convinced that there's only so much you can do to stay safe. Some other factors are simply beyond your control.
In this particular instance, I was getting off the freeway, and slowing down to around 25ish, since there was traffic ahead. All the sudden, out of nowhere, some maniac going around 60 crashes straight into me. She didn't even try to stop. Even though I check my 6 vigilantly at stoplights, in this particular instance, I didn't see it coming at all. Ended up breaking my knee, part of my spine, and a couple fingers. My bike got wadded up good, and the EMT's had to cut off all my gear. But, since the other driver didn't stop, I didn't get any money for it.
So, riding carefully, keeping your skills sharp, and wearing proper gear will keep you safe for the most part, but you will never eliminate the risk. - graemee, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2Indeed, time to put the training wheels back on. He can drive 4 wheels until he learns.
- rhysboy84, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2I apologise, my German is terrible.
- astyguy, on 02/15/2009, -0/+2"had" past tense
- wolfing, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2I can assure you he wasn't going at 60MPH
- Danltn, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2return (bool) false;

- joe122370, on 02/13/2009, -0/+2omg fail learn sarcasm
